frouby no no smell. You only spray a bit of oil on the food so you aren't boiling oil or having it hanging around after.

Dinner here was salmon and pesto pasta with steamed asparagus and chargrilled peppers. Delicious.

I've realised that I have been guesstimating syns this week Blush

I think I'm probably ok but think I'll have a bit of a reset after weigh in on Monday and have a really tight week next week.

ALemonyPea · 25/02/2017 20:20

No smell from my air fryer either. I also have the Halo. Love it.

Frouby · 25/02/2017 20:25

Hmmm might have to invest in one then!

PositiveAttitude · 25/02/2017 20:51

I can't keep up with you lot!! Grin

I have a halo and find its brilliant for SW. I hardly use my oven or hob now, its Halo or slow cooker every day here.

I was so disappointed with my gain this week I bout a journal and have been filling it in every day. I had a sneaky peak on the scales this morning (I'm normally a daily weigh but have avoided since WI on Tuesday this week) I've religiously stuck to it, written down everything that has passed my lips - and have put on AGAIN!!!! So plan now is to up the water intake for the next couple of days and hopefully claw it back before WI on Tuesday. So fed up if this sudden stop in the weight loss.

I have had a few NSV this week, though. One has made me feel a little but dim as well as chuffed to bits: At the beginning of the winter I bought a new coat 2 sizes smaller than my summer clothes and was dead chuffed that it fitted. I have been getting a little irritated though because I thought the belt had stretched as I seemed to have so much more belt each time I did it up. I caught myself in a mirror this week and realised that the coat is hanging off me!! The Shoulders are now 3 inches down my arms and its beginning to look a bit ridiculous! It took me until I saw this to realise that the belt isn't stretched - it's me shrinking!!!

Em congrats on your pass. I also passed! Only one more exam to go and I am done. I am doing AQ 2013, so wasn't affected by the marking debacle!

ALemonyPea · 25/02/2017 21:20

Lovely NSV PA. Try to focus on that rather than the numbers on the scales.

You're where I am weight wise, not losing anything despite staying on plan and not knowing what's going wrong. Let's hope once the weather gets warmer, our metabolisms will come out of hybernation and we will start losing again.

Bacon sandwich (HEXB) with butter (2) and ketchup (1)
Chocolate eclair (8)
Muller light
Chicken, rice, pile of salad, ketchup (1)
Jamesons chocolate caramels (10)
Banana
Sliced chicken
22 syns!
Going to cut that right down tomorrow, need to have a good loss next week

loveslipstick · 25/02/2017 23:41

Aldi mini bubbly bars (fake aero) - the milk chocolate one is only 2.5 syns so good for when you need a quick chocolate fix like me today.

BasinHaircut · 26/02/2017 08:54

PA that's hilarious. Imagine thinking the coat is growing rather than you shrinking!Grin. What a NSV though, congrats to you. That must mean you are down 3-4 dress sizes to your summer clothes then? Think a shopping spree will be needed soon!

Reckon I'm on course for a maintain or even a small gain tomorrow. I don't know why but I am unreasonably terrified of a gain, even though common sense tells me that weight fluctuates and sometimes life dictates that we have 'bad' weeks. I'm out for a Chinese buffet at lunch today too and so I know I'm going to be holding some water tomorrow. But if it's a gain of more than half a pound I'll (mentally) be giving back my stone award Blush. Even though I know I can claw it back over the following week.

How did you all handle your first gain at group?

Emmageddon · 26/02/2017 10:08

Has anyone worked out the syns for a bottle of Morrisons' skinny lager?
It's full strength i.e. 5% not a measly 2% like most low cal beers and 89 calories for 330mls.

Ever hopeful I can have beer again one day (in humongous quantities, not half a pint Grin )

Worked last night and on shift again tonight so must get some sleep...dreaming of a cold lager on a hot summer's day, with sunshine on my shoulders.

Night night losers!

LavenderRains · 26/02/2017 10:14

Well done with the coat basinSmile that made me giggle.
It was Xmas when I gained so I had an excuse. The first week I maintained tho I was so disappointed with myself as in my eyes I had done nothing wrong! And the consultant was saying "ooh well done you've maintained"Hmm
I've now sort of learnt to accept it and get on with it the next day.

ClashCityRocker · 26/02/2017 10:22

emmageddon I think it's 4.5 Syns a bottle using the syn calculator for 330 mils.

basin I've been convinced I'll maintain or gain every week. If you do it will likely be water retention from the salt in the Chinese, I reckon and you may well see a larger loss next week.

I would suggest drinking a shit ton of water to counteract the Chinese and eating mindfully. I've never had to face a meal out before WI though! I think Chinese is one of the easier options though, provided unlike me you don't have an addiction to sesame prawn toast and banana fritters Blush

I try to take a view on meals out - if it's a special one off occasion, I'll allow myself to go somewhat off plan on the basis that, well, skinny people do it. If it's a more regular thing like a works do or casual lunch with friends, I will stick to plan. It's working so far.

PA great NSV!

dancemom · 26/02/2017 10:34

Weigh in day and 3lbs off this week! 17lbs in 6 weeks, over the moon!

mumonashoestring · 26/02/2017 10:41

Hello all, I definitely need to lose some weight and have been looking at SW as an option (and trying out some of the recipes) but how on earth are you supposed to find time before work to cook the breakfasts? I struggle some mornings to have time to grab a couple of slices of toast let alone scrambling eggs, cooking mushrooms and all the rest of it!

BasinHaircut · 26/02/2017 11:06

mum you don't have to have a cooked breakfast. Fruit and yoghurt or cereal/porridge and milk are alternatives. If you like the breakfast muffin things then I believe a lot of people cook in advance and either eat cold or microwave in the mornings.

Thanks clash, yes it's going to be water water water for the next 24 hours or so!

I take the same view with meals out but because there are no other options than salty Chinese (and according to the website menu they don't even do steamed/boiled rice!) I'm going to struggle whatever I have. My choice would have been a carvery where I would have been on plan no problem.

I'm going to try as best I can to optimise and not pig out like I would have done pre-SW, and no booze, but still think it's going to have an effect.

I'm trying not to get too hung up though -but I'm failing- because I'm the grand scheme of things even if I decide to have a couple of treats and gain this week I'm sure by next Monday I'll be wondering what all the fuss is about Confused

OwlinaTree · 26/02/2017 11:09

Shoestring what about egg muffins? You could cook a batch and then eat cold in the mornings? Or some cereal bars are hexb. Are you eating at home? Overnight oats are good and I find them very filling.

I've been off plan yesterday, currently visiting friends. They are feeders! We've had so much food. I've managed to resist most of the nibbles, but probably had half a bottle of wine! I should be ok today, the breakfast they are making seems fairly sw friendly.

I had a ss last week so I was hoping for a loss this week, feel I may have scuppered that now, but what can you do? It feels rude to go to someone's house and then be fussy about what you are given to eat. I don't want to stop socialising (or drinking tbh)!

Well there are 7 days in a week, I have stuck to plan other than Saturday, so fx I haven't done too much damage.

alibongo5 · 26/02/2017 11:55

Reporting in after my trip to London. As expected (and planned for) I went over on my syns via alcohol. But ate nothing except the M&S bits I took with me.

And Chelsea won! And Super Frank had a standing ovation.

And met up with my son and my daughter and my sister and an old school friend.

So all in all a successful day. Need to reign in the syns for the next couple of days now.

TheImprobableGirl · 26/02/2017 11:58

Thanks for the camaraderie fellow weekend sabateours! I had an atrocious Saturday in general- started out fantastically with a lovely trip to the cinema to see moana, followed by nandos (only 6 syns) but then got home to a bailiff visit Sad Sad

I've never experienced them before- it was for a Parking ticket that I never even knew about!! £25 I could have paid if I had paid it on time within a week but he said it was now £435 with fees. Including £285 for knocking on the door and £100 for administration....said I had 20 minutes to pay!

It's completely blindsided me :( sorry for ranting- at least I'll have to stay on plan as I'll be skint! Unfortunately have had to cancel the holiday to haven with the girls as well, as the full payment was due tomorrow and this has used that up so they're going to be devastated...

grrr, feel so angry and ranty- back to slimming world talk though!
B- nothing yet- have a dodgy tummy due to the stress I think so just two cups of tea (with 3 sweeteners!)
L- something nutritious- maybe a soup, possibly carrot and coriander
D- have a bunch of mishmashed veg to use up so possibly mystery ratatouille with quorn fillets :)

Going to find something synful as a treat but I don't want sw to go out of the window too- feels like everything has gone belly up

TheImprobableGirl · 26/02/2017 12:01

Well done ali trips out are hard!

Groovee · 26/02/2017 12:27

Improbable that's awful. Sorry about your holiday.

Mum, I do things like overnight oats when I am working in the morning. I only do a full cooked brekkie on a Sunday.

alibongo5 · 26/02/2017 13:06

improbable that's awful! It doesn't even sound legal to me! Can you get advice on that?

TheImprobableGirl · 26/02/2017 13:13

I'm really not sure Ali- he had a warrant and a badge and I was on my own with the kids who were scared too. Essentially they'll be a lot more harmed by someone coming and taking a bunch of our things (tv etc I imagine?!) than they will be on missing out on holiday this year- just need to put things in perspective I suppose. It's just really scary because I've only ever seen them on benefit programmes on the tv!
Tried a free and light yoghurt (blueberry) just now- they are very tasty

Frouby · 26/02/2017 13:14

Improbable definitely seek legal advice in that. Do you have correspondence from them? Google them, google procedures and if you didn't know about it you should be able to complain.

They have to send the right notices at the right time in the right order.

I had something similar with a council tax bill for a property I hadn't lived in for 10 years. Next lot of tenants probably got junk mail for me then used my name to fill in council tax form. Took weeks to sort out and the onus was on me to prove everything but I managed to get a historical bank statement for the period in question with my new address on.

OrianaBanana · 26/02/2017 13:36

Well done losers! Great NSV PA!

Overnight - Alpen light (HExB1)
B - wholemeal toast (HExB2), smoked salmon, half an avocado (7), coffee with milk (HExA1)
L - speed soup, banana, 2 x babybel (HExA2), squash, tea
D - pork and lemon meatballs with orzo, broccoli
S - Cadburys snack (5), biscoff biscuits (3), fruit, hifi light (other half HExB1), carrots

15 syns. Damn that avocado! At least it's eaten now. Smile

ALemonyPea · 26/02/2017 13:46

How scary for you Improbable. Was it a council parking ticket or a private one? Try posting in legal and see if anyone can help.

Went to Costco today, was a bit disappointed that we were too early for any of the tasting stations to be open. I do like a little taste of what's on offer. Probably for the bes though. DH insisted I went around in a wheelchair though as I am in pain today after going shoe shopping yesterday. Never been in a wheelchair before, was definitely a new experience.
