I'd love to know as a general survey of people as this group is obviously inundated with sleep problems.

Please state age they nailed it consistently (not one offs)

If they are bf or ff

Whether they did it by themselves

For the record. My DS is almost 10mo has never gone 7-7. Record is 7 til 3am. Ebf. Tried multiple things but am now at the (almost) accepting stage of cuddles before bed and maybe 1-3 wake ups Smile

How are others doing?

For 3 months from 4 weeks and then not until 2.5 Hmm

KnickerBockerGlooooory · 29/07/2018 20:59

DD1 4 months. DD2 3.5 years! Both mainly ff. Dd2 is now 12 and still feisty Grin

Themerrygoroundoflife · 29/07/2018 21:00

Around 13 months. From about 8 months some nights, but totally reliably from 13 months.

EgremontRusset · 29/07/2018 21:01

About 7 months, by which age he was FF. He still had a dream feed til about 9 months when he stopped wanting it.

Themerrygoroundoflife · 29/07/2018 21:02

Sorry, 1st was FF second and third BF. Sleeping through coincided with me stopping bedtime feed.

Johnnycomelately1 · 29/07/2018 21:02

DS: Bf to 6 weeks, mixed fed to 6 months, ff thereafter. Slept through (10pm post dream feed to 6am) from about 8 months. 10pm to 4am by 4 months.

DD: Bf to 1 year, ff thereafter. Slept for no more than 2 hours for the first year, up to 4 hours when I gave up bf. Slept through by age 2. Tbh by 15 mo I just used to get up., chuck a bottle of milk into the cot and go back to bed. I was done.

UnaOfStormhold · 29/07/2018 21:03

Erm, still waiting at just shy of 4 years, though mostly down to just 1 wake up and an early start to the day which is a huge improvement (I think we were every 45 minutes at 10 months). Night weaned at 2, stopped breastfeeding altogether at 2.5 years. I think most of the improvements in his sleep have been due to changes in him rather than the various gentle techniques we've tried, so I suspect when that amazing time happens it will be down to him.

SheepyFun · 29/07/2018 21:03

4 YEARS old. Mixed fed - not sure it made much difference by that point

FuckyDuzz · 29/07/2018 21:04

DS1 - 5 years
DD1 - 4/5 months
DS2 - currently 2.8 and never slept through
DD2 - 3/4 weeks

My girls are lazy Grin

LaPufalina · 29/07/2018 21:05

18 months pretty reliably. Was EBF to 8/9 months but not so relevant now Smile

Mokepon · 29/07/2018 21:05

Child 1 - 6.5 years. bf for 6 months then ff. It was hell.
Child 2 - is almost 2, not there yet but cosleeping so it's totally fine. Still bf. I'm.not trying to sleep train or anything, I'm sure that's what done for me with number 1. We have a 9 year age gap Hmm wonder why?!

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 29/07/2018 21:05

On average, 6 months. All bf.

nomorespaghetti · 29/07/2018 21:05

Just under 2. I was bf during the night and she was consistently waking up 2 or 3 times for feeds. Took three nights of dh going into her room and cuddling her back to sleep until she slept through. Now she's brilliant!

Sunnybeachbabe · 29/07/2018 21:05

From 5 months he could sleep through but it varied, major setback at 11-12 months then reliable from 13 months.
Combination fed.

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 29/07/2018 21:06

Yes, they all did it themselves.

Sandsnake · 29/07/2018 21:08

About 12 months when he started to sleep through more than he didn’t (although by no means every night). Breast fed. He was a crap sleeper until around seven months when we sleep trained and I got more disciplined about night feeds. He’s now approaching three and sleeps though consistently (touch wood!).

Jellybabie3 · 29/07/2018 21:09

@PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks sounds pretty lucky to have done no training! Wow!

DS1: five and a half years old (a few weeks ago).

DS2: hasn't yet (he's two).

Kate223344 · 29/07/2018 21:10

At nearly 2.5 years. Breastfed for the first year. Some (many!) sleep through earlier and some later. Yes, being sleep deprived is awful but, with hindsight, I would say ignore those who say babies should sleep through at X months because it can mean you get too stressed about why your baby isn't. Everyone is different!

userabcname · 29/07/2018 21:13

My 13 mo is bf and still not sleeping through. He has slept through twice since his birthday so hoping it may happen soon. He does only tend to wake once and usually settles easily (I say this now - what's the bet he will be a nightmare tonight?!). Huge improvement from the first 6 months when he hardly slept!

ChorleyFMcominginyourears · 29/07/2018 21:14

I clearly have been extremely lucky 🙈 all 3 of mine were FF and all consistently slept through from 6 weeks, they're 13, 9 and 7 now and love their sleep still (must get that from from me and dh!)

ShackUp · 29/07/2018 21:14

Oh, sorry:

DS1 breastfed until nearly 3

DS2 still breastfeeding

Sparrowlegs248 · 29/07/2018 21:20

Ds1 terrible sleeper, slept through at 15 months. (Got up ridiculously early though) I did gradual withdrawal at b3dtimes from 13 months and I feel this really helped him learn to resettle himself in the night. He was ebf but at 12 months I gradually moved over to cows milk at bedtime. To break the feed to sleep habit. He's 3 now and has slept though ever since.

Ds2, slept though from about 4 weeks to 5 months. He's 17 months now and wakes a few times a night, quick feed and back to sleep.

Co slept with both, start the night in the cot, co sleep from 1st waking.

Sparrowlegs248 · 29/07/2018 21:21

Oh and ds2 has had a bottle at bedtime since a week old. Bf the rest of the time.
