I'd love to know as a general survey of people as this group is obviously inundated with sleep problems.

Please state age they nailed it consistently (not one offs)

If they are bf or ff

Whether they did it by themselves

Both settled selves to sleep. They weren't ever left to cry it out. The routine just seems to work.

Harleyisme · 29/07/2018 23:34

Ds1 when he was around 7 years old but needed meds.
Ds2 was about 8 months old he was ff.
Ds3 is 3 years old and still doesn't consistently sleep he was ff.

Jellybabie3 · 30/07/2018 01:08

I am amazed how late some babies start sleeping through....Confused

We havent done any night weaning at all. DS woke for feeds after 7pm bedtime 9.30pm 1.15am and 3.15am and up at 6.15am on the nose. Wah! But atleast now I know its 'normal' contrary to every other baby I know...Wink

Thanks all

15 weeks - both of them.

funfair · 30/07/2018 06:47

DD at 20 weeks. Formula fed by then & I took away her dummy as she kept waking for it unable to find it.

DS at 12 weeks when I changed to formula. He took a dummy.

Tryingno1 · 30/07/2018 07:02

7.5 months 730- 630am. Formula fed.

LalaLeona · 30/07/2018 07:25

Formula fed didn't sleep through until a few days after his second birthday. He did it himself

PurpleMac · 30/07/2018 07:30

14 months after controlled crying (cried for 10 minutes in total the first night and that was it, done. Which is great because any longer and I definitely would have caved, didn't want to do it in the first place but I was at breaking point!). He's now 20 months and sleeps reliably from 7pm til 6am at the earliest, 7am at the latest. He sleeps through even when he's feeling under the weather, the only times in the past 3 months he has woken has been when we are away and even then he settled straight back down once in with us.

Theducksarenotmyfriends · 30/07/2018 07:33

A year. Started gentle sleep training at 7 months to teach her to self settle without bf at start of bedtime, she did this in a week. Still bf 2-3 a night till just before her first birthday, then went cold turkey with the night weaning. Thought it'd be really hard, she barely noticed! Started sleeping totally through within a week. Wakes at 5am but that's slowly getting better now

sulflower · 30/07/2018 07:37

Through the night from 6 weeks old, breast fed but had to switch to formula due to me starting medication. We felt extremely lucky. She loved her bed, still does. She slept for 8 hours straight after she was born and fed.

mintich · 30/07/2018 07:38

3 Months and formula fed

sulflower · 30/07/2018 07:40

My daughter settled herself, no dummy although she started sucking her thumb, stopped that at 3. She was a very contented baby and was never lifted at the slightest squeak and not nursed to sleep. First night home was a different matter, she screamed blue murder the whole night! Thankfully that was a one off.

Mumtolovelyboyandgirl · 30/07/2018 07:41

Mine slept through consistently (11-12hrs) from 5 1/2mths and 6mths. They were ebf.

MyBreadIsEggy · 30/07/2018 07:45

Dd did it a couple of times at about 15 months, then consistently had about 2 and a half. (Bf initially, then I exclusively expressed until she was 5 months, then formula)
DS is 21 months and still wakes up at least once, usually twice. (Bf until 4 months, then moved onto prescription formula for severe CMPA. I think his multiple food allergies have a lot to do with his awful sleeping Sad most of them were only discovered when we started weaning, so it was like a lottery. I would try him with a new food - mango for example - and we would be up all night with a vomiting, rash covered baby screaming because his tummy hurts Sad)

mnahmnah · 30/07/2018 07:49

DS1 was 4 months and EBF at that point. Only introduced formula at 6 months. DS2 was 7 months. He was combi fed from 6 months also

Joinourclub · 30/07/2018 07:49

DC1 about 13 months and DC2 about 2 years. But DC2 has always ‘gone down’ more easily.

mnahmnah · 30/07/2018 07:50

I should add with no ‘techniques’ etc. DS1 had a dummy. DS2 a thumb sucker.

DunesOfSand · 30/07/2018 07:55

DS1 about 4 years. But if you are after sleeping til 7am, I'm still waiting aged 9. Not sure method of feedingnis relevant at that point, but bf (no night feeds from 9 months, but still waking)
DS2, about 9 months, bf.

Livinglavidal0ca · 30/07/2018 08:15

From birth he was awake 8-midnight then woke up at 4 for a feed (breast fed) until 8ish. From 4 weeks did 8-8 with a quick 5 minute feed at 1am and 4am then from around 5 months reliably slept 7-7. Well just miss out the 4 month sleep regression, dark days.

He’s 10 months now and has been bottle fed since 8 months and does 6-6 reliably. 7-7 if he goes to bed an hour later if he’s had a later nap.

We are very lucky, but I sleep trained.

WhyArePiratesCalledPirates · 30/07/2018 08:20

Cant remember exactly but remember hitting the 4mth sleep regression and her having a weekend of waking. By the monday she was back on it. Sleeps 8 till 6. Now till about 7pm. Shes 5.5mths. Formula fed. No sleep training unless we did it by accident. Dont know what it is. We just got a good sleeper.

Lolly86 · 30/07/2018 08:22

4 years...She's 5 in October and only in the last 5 months has she slept all night without waking to come in our bed etc

Jellybabie3 · 30/07/2018 08:32

@Theducksarenotmyfriends wow thats great she didnt notice - did your rock/confort her instead when she woke?
