I have just about had it with ds2's sleep and dh's arseyness about it all

Every argument we have is about ds2's sleep. I don't know what to do next. I am sick of his bloody criticism and lack of help and support (but of course he has helped in the last two years apparently and as I 'only work two days' it should be mainly my area.....). Some things he says are so bloody chauvinistic.

I have just had enough of it.
Sorry for whinging yet again but am so bloody fed up

i saw your last thread about this and it sounds terrible. have you taken him to your gp? (your ds, that is, not dh, )

popsycal · 22/05/2007 08:02

I haven't taken him to the gp, no. Just kind of resigned myself to it.

They will just say do CC and I am not trying that again. Tried it twice before and it resulted in lots of vomit.

Popsy, it sounds really miserable. I might have imagined it but I thought there were NHS sleep clincs in some areas . I know nothing about them but would hope they would have some other alternatives to CC up their sleeves. If nothing else it might make you feel supported which you're clearly not from DH at the moment.

rattleskuttle · 22/05/2007 08:10

don't be resigned to it! you can ask your gp for a referral to a paediatrician, who could check for any underlying problems.

popsycal · 22/05/2007 08:11

just googled - there iws a sleep clinic at a local hospital
am gpoing to take him to the gp i think
i am just fed up
my week old niece sleeps better

popsycal · 22/05/2007 08:11

I think, no matter what you do, doing it without dh's support is proving very difficult .

This has been going on SUCH a long time popsy.

I actually think going to the GP might not be such a bad idea.

rattleskuttle · 22/05/2007 08:12

x post.

good luck

I amnow worried that i might cry at the gp

foxinsocks · 22/05/2007 08:14

that's why they have a box of tissues on their desk popsy.

You're chronically sleep deprived, woman - I'm sure they'll understand!

fishie · 22/05/2007 08:15

i think its a really good idea too, how are his adenoids(?) people are always crying on gps they have tissues on desk. in fact is there anyone who hasn't cried at gp? i have.

mabbit · 22/05/2007 08:16

i didn't read your other thread, but i get similar from my dp and cc didn't work for us either. Baby and me nearly left home cos of it. I don't know what to do either, stuck between a rock and a hard place. I started my own thread last night, trying to get straight in my own head, what's the right thing to do. You mumsnetters are really great I'm going to show dp your thread and my thread later. Probably won't make any difference but you never know.

aDad · 22/05/2007 08:20

good luck popsycal.

I remember your thread from just after Christmas and all the effort you put in then (and no doubt before and since) - so I'm not surprised you feel how you do. You'll get there.

chocolateteapot · 22/05/2007 11:09

Well done for making the appointment Popsy and please don't worry about crying - you will not be the first or last and as fishie says, that's why they have tissues ! And crying at the GPs is better than crying in front of your DD's teacher as I have done.

Mabbit, I hope things improve for you too.

cruisemum1 · 22/05/2007 11:12

my dh is a horses arse too.

popsycal · 22/05/2007 11:51

just cried at playgroup grrrr

for my own amusement i am just going to list what we have tried

cc x3 : vomit

co-sleeping : constant waking and pulling at my top and hysterics

shush and pat in cot umpteen times: 2 weeks of hysterics

camping out on his floor with shush and pat: hysterics, cot phobia and bought him a bed

bed: constant waking and sneaking into our bed and hysterics when put back

medised: no effect

pirioton: no effect

getting rid of nap: even more unsettled

changing length of nap: no effect

giving food befor bed: worse early evening waking

water next to bed: hysterics then huge drinking leading to more night waking

head end of bedraised toi hrelp possible adenoid problem: no effect

karvol: no effect

a current 'normal' night is him waking 2 to 3 times before i go to bed. waking at 1 and sneaking to our room. taking up to an hour to settlr after hysterics. me creepibng back tp bed forr him wake again 10 mins later, resette then up and down from 4ish until ds1 wakes between5 and 6

some nights are worse

oh popsy - I hope the GP can help.

When I did cc on one of mine, we had to deal with vomit too so I can understand what a pain that is but tbh, I don't think the vomit is the problem - it seems to be more that your dh won't help out/doesn't support you in what you try and do .

popsycal · 22/05/2007 11:59

that comment wasnt a dig at you btw.....other tgread makng me crooss

ds2 is genberally fine though he iss not well in himself - pretty sure he is about to have chickern pox - was with my niece the day before she came out with them a few weekd ago
excuser typinf ds2 on lsap asleep. not his normal self today.

if he woke at aa normal time, he could manage without a nap i think
god i am fed upo
