@Hashtag Thank you.

A slightly better night, but DD was a bit unsettled and got upset around 6am, then did a bit trump. Still no poo and we need to have it tested. Come on DD!

Jellybean2017 · 03/01/2018 07:20

I think it would have been a relatively good night here had it not been so stormy!!! Didn't seem to bother DS but I couldn't get back to sleep a few times.

Still awake. Feels like I'm losing my mind. Comes to something when you have the worst sleeper on a no sleep thread!!

Catscatsandmorecats · 03/01/2018 08:42

Woah whoateallthepercypigs I'm not surprised you feel like you're losing your mind! Will you get any break today?

The storm has just set my car alarm off!

sleepycat13 · 03/01/2018 08:48

what a bad night i had. by 4 30am I had clocked a tota( of 3 hours. desperate times call for desperate measures. bundled ds into the car seat and went for a drive in the storm (although we just had wind and rain) came back plunked myself on the sofa with ds in car seat beside me. I know it's not exactly the best place for him to sleep but he managed 4 hours in it and I therefore got another 3 hours kip on the sofa. it's going to be a long day.

HashtagTired · 03/01/2018 09:02

Oh dear @sleepycat13 I feel for you today!
I went to see the GP this morning about a mole for them to check. The GP took one look at me and said I looked knackered. Thanks! But yeah, I do feel pretty tired today. I think it's the normal tiredness plus the crappiness of this cold which everyone seems to have or have had. Going to a yoga/Pilates class shortly. I may just fall asleep in the meditation bit. Awks.

sleepycat13 · 03/01/2018 09:27

thanks @HashtagTired and that's not what you want to hear from the gp is it!! hope you get to relax a bit in yoga.

Meepmoop · 03/01/2018 09:48

Strange night here. DS managed 5 hours in his cot but broken up. He kept 'waking' up by thrashing around but if I put my hand on his chest he would settle back down to sleep. I didn't get the 5 hours at all because of this. Stopped working at 5am though so in bed with us he went.

@HashtagTired I've fallen asleep and snored in the meditation bit of a yoga class before. My friend kicked me to wake me up and I loudly exclaimed I'm not asleep. That's pre-baby to.

Jellybean2017 · 03/01/2018 10:57

Baby + jumperoo + poo 💩 = sheer horror!

Thought you should all know.

Luckily DH was on duty during the incident 🙈

Jellybean2017 · 03/01/2018 10:57

...jumperPOO...

OP posts:
sleepycat13 · 03/01/2018 11:15

oh gosh @Jellybean2017 that's a throw the baby away moment

Ven83 · 03/01/2018 12:01

Omg @Jellybean2017 This is when Dads really earn their keep!

My DS did a nuclear poo explosion once as I was holding him. We both needed a complete change of outfit. It was a 'stand in the shower with the baby' kind of day. Ever since I carry a change of clothes for both him and me in his nappy bag, just in case. When we go out it's like we're going backpacking.

NinaMarieP · 03/01/2018 12:31

💩😱 we have a jumperoo... he has not yet pooed in it. Oh heck, I hope my OH is on duty if that ever happens to us!

So I was feeding every three hours last night but he was reasonably settled in between and did a few hours in his own bed so it wasn't too bad. Of course he did 5+ hours in his own bed for my OH, then two more after a feed earlier in the week... why does he sleep better for my OH???

Jellybean2017 · 03/01/2018 13:37

I feel like I need to introduce a rule, no jumperoo until after a poo haha! Luckily the seat bit is washable!

Maybe he can smell the milk when you're nearby @Nina? I have noted DS seems to wake up if I go near him when he is asleep on DH 🙈

AMagdalena · 03/01/2018 13:42

Jumperpoo 😲💩🙈
My DD likes to poo in the bouncy chair. Good jobs it comes with a washable seat.

Only 1 poo today so far...DD doesn't seem constipated either. Gave her probiotics, a tiny bit of baby rice and a couple of drops of apple juice (sterilising involved in the making of it was probably a bit ott). Was really worried she'd have a bad reaction.
I've booked her scans for 15th of this month and her poo results will be ready on Friday or early next week. Kinda hope (and not) it's worms or something and easily fixable. Wouldn't be surprising as pil's never worm their dog...

Oh, and I am stuck under DD atm. Obvs.

Ven83 · 03/01/2018 14:21

Mine is still boycotting Daddy for naps or anything else really other than playing, although they really bonded over the holidays while DH was home. It's amazing what a difference a few days at home makes. Such a shame he only had 2 weeks of paternity leave.

NinaMarieP · 03/01/2018 14:35

Yes it's probably the smell of milk and the knowledge that if he wakes with daddy he'll just get a bottle and that's not worth it unless he's truly starving 😂

If I held off the jumperoo until after a poo he'd never get in it what with his 3-4 poos daily (usually when you least expect it...)

theotherendofthesockportal · 03/01/2018 15:30

I don't BF but DD behaves like an angel for DH. I've come to the conclusion that's because DH isn't as in tune with DD. I wear hearing aids during the day, I take them out at night time and can hear every little noise DD makes. DH has exceptional hearing and can sleep through her crying until she reaches full on anger mode. I don't think she is better behaved for him, he just isn't as biologically programmed to her needs.

sleepycat13 · 03/01/2018 15:48

@theotherendofthesockportal my dh is the same. never used to be a good sleeper but now that ds is here he can sleep through anything.
it's interesting though I have often noticed that i don't hear dh come to bed when he stays up later than me but I will hear the slightest little shuffle from ds

AMagdalena · 03/01/2018 18:36

Just checking in.

DD peed on the cot mattress earlier, so we're definitely co-sleeping tonight as there is no spare sheet at my mum's. Yaaay. Not that there was much of a chance of cot sleeping.

Jellybean2017 · 03/01/2018 19:50

Oh no, not a good start @AMagdalena

DS is 5 months tomorrow and has started doing an incredibly loud high pitched squeal. He seems fairly happy when he does it... Is that normal?!

OP posts:
HashtagTired · 03/01/2018 20:05

@Jellybean2017 just playing with their voice? Sounds normal.

My ds was 4 months today.

I'm so tired (and ill) I'm off to bed already. I'll be back around midnight! Night!

Meepmoop · 03/01/2018 20:06

@Jellybean2017 my DS is a screecher to! I think they realise they can do it

Jellybean2017 · 03/01/2018 20:16

Night @Hashtag hope you get some sleep.

Ahh good, glad it's normal. He is so loud!!!

OP posts:
Meepmoop · 03/01/2018 21:48

Not having any luck here but it's partly my fault for trying different things.

After being able to help settle last night with my hand on his chest I decided tonight I was going to try and not take him out the cot, no such luck just made him wide awake and angry. I then decided to rock him in my arms while playing white noise on my phone. He was then interested in where the sound was coming from.

My mostly asleep baby is now wide awake...
