I thought the same the other day @Whoateallthepercypigs lazy days are guilt free in winter! Plus you can eat lots and not worry about it as you need an extra winter layer for warmth 😂 now where are the cookies?!

actino · 05/12/2017 16:52

Well, I'm sure I'm in for a rough night. I wore up from a nap feeling achy like I have a cold but also with a very sore and engorged right breast. Luckily I was about to go to the GP for DD (who is fine btw) and I might have mastitis or a blocked duct or just a cold. I have to monitor overnight, but I feel pretty awful so I'm expecting to have a miserable night because DD it's sure to resume her hourly feedings.

ValentineFizz · 05/12/2017 17:14

Ahhh doesn't sound good @actino 😥

I'm with you all on getting out of the house, took pram and dog for an hour-long walk earlier, it's good for the soul to see normal life and get fresh air! Although DS's first words will probably be "walk nice" "come here" "sit" or "stop that" as that's all he hears when we've got the pup with us 😂😂😂

NinaMarieP · 05/12/2017 17:53

We had an interesting night. Still up about every hour to cry but from 5am he just fed every hour and went straight back to sleep... he did that until 11.30!! So he had a little over 13 hours sleep from bedtime at 8pm to me finally deciding enough was enough and rousing him at 11.30 when he was crying with his eyes closed again.

It seems to have done him good because we had a much better day after that. He's still napping more often but he's been cheerful in between and we made it to rhyme time.

He is currently asleep in the carrycot of his pram as he fell asleep on the walk home - usually he wakes up as soon as we stop moving.

I'm out t night for the first time. Well, not out out, just at out for dinner with work friends for Christmas meal. Whilst I should be looking forward to some carefree me time, I'm actually concerned about how little sleep I get tonight and whether my boobs are going to leak or hurt.

And I've just parked up (so not drinking) and already have guilty pangs as I'm missing ds cuddles already!

AMagdalena · 05/12/2017 19:00

@Hashtag Have a good time! As difficult as it will be.
I hate leaving DD. Even for 2 hours and have only done it 3 times so far. I suppose it's a little hard as she won't take the bottle, but DH has now been instructed to spoon feed her in future as she has allowed me to do it.

My lovely friend has made me soup today, brought vegan chocolate cake, left me dinner and cleaned my kitchen. It was nice to get my body back for a bit as DD was happy being cuddled by her.

Jellybean2017 · 05/12/2017 19:25

Have a good time Hashtag and hope you also get some sleep afterwards!

Sounds like a lovely friend AMagdalena 😊

I'm feeling totally exhausted tonight. DH is bathing the baby while I prepare for the night shift. I need DS to fall asleep quickly tonight although I'm going to try to chill out about it as I think he can sense when I'm stressing about him not sleeping! 🙈🙈

Jellybean2017 · 05/12/2017 19:44

Although with the noise coming from the bathroom he could be slowly torturing him not bathing him 😏

AMagdalena · 05/12/2017 21:19

Jellybean Tonight is a non-starter here, too.
Forgot to put DD in her non-sleeping bag before feeding her. Her chances of lasting longer than 5 mins under a blanket are zero as she'll kick it off within seconds.
Oh, well...

Another day in tomorrow. Hopefully tge cold will be a lot better by Thursday, so I can get out.

Sakura03 · 05/12/2017 21:48

Evening everyone.
Managed to get almost an hours sleep before dp got home from work, ds was still asleep when do walked in so he suggested I went off to bed again and I got another 2 hours sleepSmile. Dp is so good at settling ds/keeping him asleep in his cot! Ds is currently asleep on me and I'm a little concerned that we might have a repeat of last night with only 1 hour and 25 minutes sleep🙈🙈🙈 but what can you do?? Probably best just to take it as it comes. I was thinking to the ds out in the pram today for a bit of fresh air but I didn't as I was so keen on trying to get some sleep that I prioritised that. Tomorrow though I think we'll need some fresh air. Ive got a friend visiting tomorrow afternoon with her 3 yr old son, really looking forward to it as I want to get some tips on expressing from her.
My treat today was a couple of slices of stollenSmile him!

Sakura03 · 05/12/2017 21:50

Oh and earlier today I thought I'd make a bacon and lentil soup, well I only hot as far as getting a saucepan out if the cuoboardGrin Ds had other ideas...

Sakura03 · 05/12/2017 21:53

Oh dear...note to self - must check spelling before posting... predictive texting can be a pain. Stollen = yum!

Meepmoop · 05/12/2017 21:58

DS has developed an awful cough this evening so not looking good. He also has his last set of injections tomorrow so I’m writing off the next two nights

HashtagTired · 05/12/2017 22:32

Oooh. I had a chocolate mug cake with caramel sauce (M&S packet mix) - deffo recommend.

So awesome evening had at Christmas meal. Laughed and laughed.
In bed now 2 hours behind schedule. Off to sleep. I didn't drink tonight so co sleeping is still in my back pocket for later if I need it.

And EBLL, of course.
Good luck everyone!

Jellybabie3 · 05/12/2017 23:13

Evening all. Been a strange day. DS has defo been cutting back feeding the past few days and upped the sleep which has made me worry. His temp appeared to dip yesterday too. All monitoring has been blown out of the water as he had his 8 week jabs this afternoon and appears 10x more tired and even less hungry. will be doing four hour wake ups for Calpol through the night. Nurse did check him over and didnt think anything was wrong. I have put it down to a growth spurt atm.

Fx he's OK through the night. He feels warm so have opted out of the sleeping bag and am going back to cellulars.

DryHeave · 05/12/2017 23:35

Hello all. Spending the night back on the maternity ward after 5 day old decided to spend the afternoon/evening being quiet, floppy and a bit vacant. He wouldn’t stay awake to feed either so my boobs ended up the size of balloons.

Ward wanted us in. We arrived, he did two ENORMOUS poops (he’d been doing plenty of dirty nappies so no idea where he was stashing them) and started being his normal self again. Little trouble maker. He’s making up for lost food time now.

On the plus side, DH will get a full night’s sleep. Hmm

Halfdrankbrew · 05/12/2017 23:59

dryheave glad to hear your little boy has perked up, hopefully they'll let you home tomorrow. Did they have any idea what was wrong? Lucky dh getting a good nights sleep Hmm!!

Meepmoop · 06/12/2017 00:29

So far I’ve managed half an hour sleep...

dryheave that must have been worrying for you. Glad he is doing better

ValentineFizz · 06/12/2017 01:01

@dryheave glad to hear all is well....

I think I'm in for a long night, have spent since 9pm trying to settle my DS to sleep but he's been a cluster-feeding maniac, he's only just fell asleep and I'm knackered already, fingers crossed that's him for a few hours zzzzz

HashtagTired · 06/12/2017 01:15

Feed #1
On schedule. Feeding is a relief tonight as I haven't bf since 5pm. Ds has his work cut out this morning!!

Meepmoop · 06/12/2017 01:24

I’ve managed another 30mins! I think this is my worst night yet

Jellybean2017 · 06/12/2017 01:26

Feed #1!!! It's a miracle. He was asleep four hours and think it would have been longer if I hadn't got up for a wee 🙈

@dryheave glad baby seems a little better, hope you're getting some sleep now.

@Jellybabie3 the immunisations do seem to play havoc on their little systems. Hope he is back to his usual self soon.

Wonder if DS will go back to sleep...

ValentineFizz · 06/12/2017 01:38

Back again - got half an hour, feeding in progress....

Sakura03 · 06/12/2017 01:41

@DryHeave - glad that you're in safe hands...

On feed #1 - we slept just over an hour and have an explosive nappy to attend toSmile. Just noticed we're nearly out of cotton wool pads.. what do you guys use? We use the cotton wool pads or water wipes.

Sakura03 · 06/12/2017 01:45
