Hope everyone finds the new thread 😂 and new chatterboxes are welcome to join us and battle through the night feeds together (with or without the assistance of EBLL [Ewan's back left leg!) 🐏

I sling most mornings for the school run. Much easier than faffing with the pram. That's because ours can't come in the house because of the steps being too narrow. I keep the pushchair in the car and to carry ds, put him down the the car to open the pushchair before putting him in it is what I would call faff.

And we’re up again.

This has to be the worst night on record. Not helped by DH being asleep in the spare room. Leaving him there as he needs his sleep and not much he can do right now.

At my wits end.

anotherexhaustedpigeon · 28/11/2017 04:19

@HashtagTired so annoying isn't it!! We live in a top floor flat, so have to take DD down 5 flights of stairs to the Pram carcass, then carry it all down external steps to street level and assemble it all roadside - sodding faff!!! So if we go for a walk and she falls asleep, the faff of disassembling it all inevitably wakes her up. Every time.

actino · 28/11/2017 04:25

New later here, I just found this thread. My 3 week old DD is just now finishing feed #4 since midnight. This is my fifth day of hourly feeding between midnight and 6/7 am, before that I would get at least one 3 hour chunk of sleep in each overnight.

actino · 28/11/2017 04:25

*new poster

HashtagTired · 28/11/2017 04:25

@anotherexhaustedpigeon yes, that's got to be annoying!
My car seat is really heavy too. And when Ds is in it it's just heavy and awkward to carry. I have callouses on the inside of my hands from carrying the seat to and from the car, and he gets bigger every day 😩
I never really appreciated the faff with my dd because she hated the car seat and the pram so rarely went in them (or as little as I could). But ds is quite content in there most days so it's more of an option.
Plus I've hurt my back from sleeping slightly upright because of my own blocked nose, not helped by the night feeds being sat up.

HashtagTired · 28/11/2017 04:27

Welcome @actino

I think a few of us here are experiencing baby development stages and doing bf hourly or so feeds. It's tough isn't it!
Congratulations on your lo. Is this your first?

HashtagTired · 28/11/2017 04:31

I don't know where the 'bf' came from in my post just now! It isn't meant to be there!

HashtagTired · 28/11/2017 04:31

I'm so very tired, I'm struggling to keep my eyes open so not really checking my posts properly before I post.

GingerHanna · 28/11/2017 04:38

Thought I had settled him but no. As soon as I put him in his crib he started screaming blue murder. Now back on the boob. Been at this for nearly four hours with just a twenty minute nap in the middle.

actino · 28/11/2017 04:43

Tired, yes this is my first. The hourly feeding is definitely difficult, especially from ~2-330 when I'm really sleepy and nod off. I'm actually wide awake now so it's not as bad. I've been listening to podcasts and reminding myself that it will get better eventually.

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 28/11/2017 04:45

Flowers for you @gingerhanna. It's just relentless isn't It? Can you take it easy today?

Welcome @actino - sounds like you're at the same stage as me! My 3 week DS is also hourly feeding after being able to do longer stretches. I know it's a development stage but doesn't make it any easier. Plus he's a month premature so apparently that prolongs the newborn stage!

Feed 2 at 4, but am just grateful he settled into his cot unlike last night.

GingerHanna · 28/11/2017 04:54

@WhoAteAllThePercyPigs hang on is this a thing for this age? DS is four weeks old but was three weeks early. On crap please tell me this is just a one off and we’re not going to regress?!?!

Today we have his first check up with the docs are 10am and a friend is coming over to help so may get her to look after him whilst I sleep. So fed up.

actino · 28/11/2017 04:56

Mine sleeps great after a feed, just only in my arms. She falls asleep on the boob or just off of it, but when I put her in her basket she either instantly wakes up or sleeps for a few minutes then starts snorting ands grunting which wakes her. At least she's adorable asleep arms :)

sleepycat13 · 28/11/2017 04:59

looks like it's been a bad night for many. hang on in there ladies. I haven't posted on here in a while as thought I would try to limit phone use overnight to help me fall back asleep between feeds but tonight has been a long hard slog.

actino · 28/11/2017 05:00

Percy, I was told they have a growth spurt around 3 weeks, so I'm going that's what is causing the increase in frequency and duration in my feeds.

GingerHanna · 28/11/2017 05:07

Trying to put down again. Not sure if I have tried too early. Most god awful farts coming from DS so hoping he will feel better shortly and sleep. Or not. Now he is crying/grizzling again. Looks like we’re not going down just yet. Fuck.

anotherexhaustedpigeon · 28/11/2017 05:15

Feed #3, feeling so not smug about early night now. 😐 @HashtagTired that sounds really tough, as if your body hasn't been through enough!

HashtagTired · 28/11/2017 05:25

I have to drop dd at breakfast club in a little over 2hours. If I fell asleep now and slept until then it still wouldn't be enough.

Jellybabie3 · 28/11/2017 05:41

Feed #2 here and as if to prove a point ds has peed on me again and done the biggest poo known to baby-kind.

Sounds like some rough nights. Welcome @actino. Yeah I remember our 3 week spurt Hmm hang on in there! We are at the 6-8 week one now whispers seems better this time round although maybe I am just more hardened to the lack of sleep now.

So clearing up that monstrosity of a poo has got ds wide awake and hes chewing my boob off whilst groaning.

Oh great another poo. Sweet jesus.

Jellybabie3 · 28/11/2017 05:45

In other news ds hair is growing all fluffy. So darn cute. Can't stop stroking it 💕

CrowOnTheBroom · 28/11/2017 06:00

Morning all, may I join you? 16 wk old ds has never been a great sleeper but is now averaging 1.5/2 hours in one go, and yesterday came down with a cold, so tonight has refused to sleep anywhere apart from my lap. I'm exhausted and fed up.
He's bottle fed and a lot of the time I feed him back to sleep.,, bad habits I know but I feel like I'll do anything right now.

GingerHanna · 28/11/2017 06:02

Trying to get him to sleep again now. He is definitely tired but I think overtired now as he has been awake for so long.

I wonder if this time it’ll work? It’s 07:00 now so no point me going to sleep also as I need to get on and start the day. IF he goes to sleep I’ll put the monitor on and go downstairs to make breakfast and sob for a bit before I wake DH in an hour. Today is going to be fueled by coffee.

And here he goes again... please please please just sleep.

GingerHanna · 28/11/2017 06:03

Nope.
