Nina Good luck. I am sure the same thing would be called a nightmare feed in our house.

NoNoCharlieRascal · 10/11/2017 22:22

My lad isn't right. He has been beyond clingy to the point I'm thinking he has given up on the outside and wants to go back in. He's so upset and just not himself. He wants to laugh but can't quite get there, like something is stopping him. Just got him into bed and I'm going to join him.

theotherendofthesockportal · 10/11/2017 23:27

@NoNoCharlieRascal feel free to beat your husband with a bag of angry badgers. I feeling murderous towards my “tired” DH. I asked him to feed the baby whilst I had a bath and had half to relax. 10 minutes into my relaxation he appears with the baby and says in a really whinging voice “she won’t have her bottle,” handed her to me and had gone to have his own bath.

No jury in the land will convict me. Right?!

NoNoCharlieRascal · 10/11/2017 23:32

sockportal I'll be your alibi, you were with me all night knitting socks for orphans Wink

theotherendofthesockportal · 10/11/2017 23:44

@NoNoCharlieRascal thank you, you are my new best friend :)

NoNoCharlieRascal · 11/11/2017 00:05

Awww, I love this site. New mums bonding over poor sleep, crying babes and murder plots. Grin

Ven83 · 11/11/2017 00:31

Just spent close to 40 minutes bouncing on the damn Pilates ball putting the little monster to sleep. He’d been awake for 6 hours by then cluster feeding and refusing to nap. Now trying to brave putting him down in his sleepyhead knowing he’ll wake up within minutes :-/

HashtagTired · 11/11/2017 01:02

Awake here for feed #1
Ewan’s left leg has been deployed again.

Here. We. Go.

HashtagTired · 11/11/2017 01:09

I will turn a blind eye to any murder plots and happy to contribute to any alibi. I can’t knit, I’m afraid, but I can hold the calls of wool and supply the tea and cake.

Clingy babies are so hard. My dd hated the oran and car seat. I would envy those mothers at baby groups who would just rock up with their little ones asleep in the car seat. They’d just sit there, with two free hands chatting, holding and drinking tea, yapping away. Me? I’d walk in, dd would be grizzly, would have woken up like some devil child - her eyes would ping open the moment I turned the engine off in the car. She wouldn’t sit in the car seat for a second longer than she had to. Oh man, it was tricky.
Oh yeah, and you could forget the pushchair. Carried all the way. She would tolerate it if we were practically running somewhere in it, but a slow pace walk or stood still was not a silent option. And she certainly would not tolerate being rocked in the pushchair Confused

Just finished first feed. Very wriggly baby so not sure when he will go back to sleep...

HashtagTired · 11/11/2017 01:11

Just finished feed here too. Ds is asleep in my arms but Ewan has stopped and I can’t reach with my free hand to start again. Help! Help me!

HashtagTired · 11/11/2017 01:29

With some kind of ninja move I managed to turn Ewan on (thank goodness it was the correct leg as I was going in blind, I couldn’t see) and put down ds without any sudden movements. He’s looking pretty settled for now. I’m gonna take it. Probably be back within the hour!

He lasted 45 minutes before being woken up by gas cramps. Ugh Sad

sleepycat13 · 11/11/2017 02:13

first feed of the night Smile

totally agree about setting the badgers on tired partners. I could use some for my snoring husband. You are disturbing me and it's not fair. I want to be snoring!

HashtagTired · 11/11/2017 02:22

Feed #2
Lasted 1 hour 30. Not sure what woke him but tried to see if he would settle himself. I lifted my head and made a ‘sshhhhh’ sound and oh my goodness, he gave me the biggest smile I couldn’t NOT pick him up for a cuddle. I’m so rubbish at this ‘leave then to settle’ malarkey. He knows how to play the game.

We are up again too Hashtag - our babies must be on the same schedule!

I will be purchasing new batteries for Ewan and giving him another try tomorrow. Well done with your ninja moves, no one tells you to practice that type of thing when you're expecting a baby!

My husband is happily snoring in the spare room upstairs. At least I can't hear / see him to be jealous! Although sometimes I think he has selective hearing as DS was crying very loudly earlier and not a peep from DH!

HashtagTired · 11/11/2017 02:47

He’s asleep in my arms making little woofy sounds, like a dreaming dog! Kinda cute. I’m such a sucker for cuteness and cuddles.

Anyone get tempted to just through money at the problem? Trying to decide if a chicco next to me would solve all my sleeping baby problems or just be another wad of cash I didn’t really need to spend..

theotherendofthesockportal · 11/11/2017 03:26

I hate my brain, couldn’t sleep between 12-3, then just as I was nodding off my DD woke up. She has had quite a small feed and is now dozing off.

@HashtagTired the tea and cake will be very much appreciated ;)

Other owners of Ewan, which leg noise does your baby prefer? Mine has shown no preference so far, but my husband says he prefers the music leg and moans if I put the other noises on. I’m going to enjoy putting on the womb noise shortly mwah ha ha.

Ceesadoo · 11/11/2017 03:31

My son prefers Euan’s rear left leg sounds. Recently discovered he can hang in the crib by his tail (Euan obv not child).

NinaMarieP · 11/11/2017 03:46

The dream feed was sort of successful.

By that I mean he didn’t wake up and scream! He took just over an ounce.m, and this is his first wake up at 3.30. Yesterday morning was 3.40 but his bedtime feed was 1.5 hours earlier today.

I don’t know if it made him more settled for sleeping or not, but I will interrogate my OH in the morning and report back!

IceBearRocks · 11/11/2017 04:10

My newborn is 8..... Years old! With 2 drugs and still no sleep !
This is torturous

theotherendofthesockportal · 11/11/2017 04:19

DD has awoken again, this time because she has done a stinky poo.

@Ceesadoo Ewan can also be hung on car seats, but I am loathe to do that as he is quite large, I worry about him falling off and landing on baby.

HashtagTired · 11/11/2017 04:43

@mummarosie1 we have the snuzpod which is similar to the next to me crib. I’m not sure it makes ds sleep any better but it is easier for me to feed at night and is bigger than Moses basket so will last a bit longer.

Wake up feed #3
