We tried everything with our dd. We put off CIO because she hadn’t been well for a few months. But as soon as she got better, we tackled it at 15 months. Took 2 weeks for consistent results but it was worth it. We plan to tackle it the same way (if we need to) with ds from 6 months.

What is CIO? It makes me think of work - Chief Information Officer (can you tell I work in IT?)

GimbleInTheWabe · 16/11/2017 14:52

He’s 5 weeks 2 days @theotherendofthesockportal and now fast asleep on my chest and I reeealllly need to pee!

Does everyone have their baby in their bedroom at night? I live in a one bed so have no choice but will have DS in our room until at least 6 months as that’s what’s recommended isn’t it? I only ask as I’ve seen some other mums have their babies in their own room from much earlier.

AMagdalena · 16/11/2017 14:59

I'm sticking to the guidelines, so will have DD in our room until 6 months. And bed probably 😂

HashtagTired · 16/11/2017 15:08

@GingerHanna it’s Cry It Out.

@GimbleInTheWabe I’ll see how he sleeps. I seem to think dd was in her own room from around 4 months. We’ll aim for 6 months but if he’s settling well then it may be earlier. Who am I kidding?! At this rate he’ll be in my room until college.

I have 2.5 months left till DD is 6 months. I can't take any more sleep deprivation, I don't think. Her naps also need to improve so that her grandparents can look after her without the whole circus when I go back to work.
I'd rather just cuddle her all my life, but needs must.
Before becoming a mum, I hadn't realised sleep was sooo important for daily functionimg. Obvious, I know.

mummarosie1 · 16/11/2017 15:48

DP is off from work today and in the kitchen cooking a beef stew.
DD is asleep in living room.
I’m in the bath with music and candles lit.

Think this might be the first time I have felt truly relaxed since DD was born 33 days ago!

Jellybabie3 · 16/11/2017 15:51

mummarosie dead jealous. I'd murder a soak in the bath.

Currently pinned down by ds on couch as he sleeps.

AMagdalena · 16/11/2017 15:53

Jellie join the club!

So tired! Been out all afternoon and walked miles to get DD to nap in between visits!

GimbleInTheWabe · 16/11/2017 15:58

Also in the couch-pin club (shall we get tshirts?!) DS has been snoozing on me for 2 hrs now.
I’m bloody knackered but don’t want to risk sleeping on the sofa with him so I’m watching crap tv and eating dairy milk which makes things a bit better (and remembering that big gorgeous nose wrinkly smile he gave us earlier)

NinaMarieP · 16/11/2017 16:09

I’m also pinned to the sofa but it’s the first time today so it’s ok. He napped in his snuzpod this morning and in his pram while we were out this afternoon.

Jellybabie3 · 16/11/2017 16:29

Lol i went for an hours walk. He slept for some, screamed the rest. Came home, he fed and has been curled up for 1.5hours so far. Dh has just got back so will thankfully sort our online grocery shop. After yesterdays overtiredness I will be damned if i am waking him.

I am also eating cadburys choc and watching last weeks googlebox.....hoorah again for the lack of trick or treaters 😋

GimbleInTheWabe · 16/11/2017 16:52

DS has been asleep for 3 hrs on me now... should I wake him to feed him or isn’t it necessary to feed that often now he’s 5 weeks? I just wish this nap had happened in bed so that I could have also slept for the past 3 hours!

GinUnicorn · 16/11/2017 17:31

Thanks guys For the encouragement- right tonight is a new night!

Jellybabie3 · 16/11/2017 17:44

gimble i was advised at hospital that ds could go up to 6 hours without food at which point you need tobwake. Otherwise let sleeping babies be!! Mines awake. Screamed place down. Hes loud

Ohb0llocks · 16/11/2017 17:54

@GinUnicorn tonight is a new night! That’s going to be my mantra.

Feeling better about bf now. Been to get DS weighed today, he’s put on a pound in a week so my boobs must be doing something right!

Jellybean2017 · 16/11/2017 18:17

DS has been screaming most of the day. DH has gone out so I am in bed watching TV and feeding the baby in the hope he might just go to sleep early. (yeah right!) I also have snacks!!

HashtagTired · 16/11/2017 18:24

Just got in from dd swimming lessons and had to decorate fecking cupcakes for school tomorrow. Cue hundreds and thousands all over the bloody kitchen floor 🙄
Shower then bed for me. I wish.

Eating chocolate here too, DS had a short nap ontop of me on the sofa but then woke up crying with wind. Still fighting sleep now. Has only slept for 40mins since early hours. Also how bad is the one show :o here we go again !!! So. Freaking. Tired.

AMagdalena · 16/11/2017 19:17

I had some salted caramel cake...My usual.
DD had another nap on top of me.
Really hoping for some sleep tonight as going to meet some local mums, so could do with being coherent.

Jellybabie3 · 16/11/2017 19:27

Oh geez I've pulled my neck. You know when you Cant turn it or look down without yelping Sad

Please be a good night. Hot choc n bed for me with ds.
