Any of this familiar?

1 baby needs to be constantly held
2 feeds frequently during the day
3 feeds or comfort sucks through the night
4 won't sleep alone
5 HATES the pram and/or car seat
6 takes short naps
7 doesn't like being held / left with others
8 gets bored or over stimulated very quickly

Feeling exhausted and want some support from others with spirited fussy babies

If so join the club Smile

Hey Fluffi- how did you get to 2 wakes ups?!!! That's fab that nursery have managed to put her down, not sure I'll ever achieve that!! Maybe I should have another meltdown to see if DH would do more?!!

Purely time I'm afraid. She's started to eat more solids so maybe it's that? No idea! As you can see from my other thread that I'm now trying to tackle her settling in the cot but don't want to do anything other than v gentle no cry methods really.

Unfortunate hands most of us seem to have cmpa babies so I can't help feeling that that is an issue and probably linked to silent reflux even when dairy has been eliminated

Purpleboa · 04/06/2016 18:35

waves wearily hey everyone! Hello Pixie Ma, sorry things are still tough for you Flowers

Day times are getting better for us, her being at nursery has helped massively! She will nap there, and now naps in her cot - as long as daddy is doing the naps! I tend to just have her next to me on the bed or in the carrier.

She's eating more solids and we're down to two feeds a day! Hurrah. But....

Night times still suck. DH has been taking on the occasional night then moaning on like he's done a month's worth of them now that I'm back at work. But she still wakes, 3/4 times on a 'good' night, too many to count on a bad one.

Not sure what to do so we're just hoping it'll improve! Early/late bedtime makes no difference really. She's eating loads but again, no difference.

Don't think she has silent reflux, I think she's just not a good sleeper!

It's a real struggle with work, but I'm just getting through it. It is nice to be feeding less, I'm so done with breastfeeding!

Onwards and upwards...We can't surely all still be on this thread when they're 18, can we???

Would they be affected by silent reflux still if they're tummy sleeping?

Hmm I think since cutting out dairy dd hasn't shown any signs of it, I think her waking js because she either still wants a feed or just habit now.

12 months

deathb4decaf · 05/06/2016 23:20

I'm still around!

We've given up on the cot completely. Shock

We set up a floor bed in DD's room. (I sleep in with her at the mo- not ideal but no worse than what we were doing before!) It's working out ok as it eliminates the transfer to cot scenario.
Also tried her on bed naps again and it worked! So I haven't worn the sling for about four days now! I do have to feed her to sleep then stay with her but I don't mind doing that.
She sleeps in the pram still (with continuous movement).
Breastfeeding hasn't slowed down yet, I think when she turns one next month I will try to cut it down. I've had enough now. I want to wear normal clothes!

Interesting hands... I'm not sure with DD as she's always been ok with the pram really... and she now does bed naps, if she was refluxy maybe she's growing out of it? She's walking now too. (would this help with reflux?!)

purple sounds like things are improving for you, I'd love to be down to two bf's. And she's doing cot naps, and napping at nursery, and eating more! Awesome. Sometimes I feel like nothing's changed but when I think back to a few months ago I can see improvements!

pixie I completely get what you're saying! I don't feel like myself, I'm just a feeding and washing machine!

fluffikins · 06/06/2016 21:14

I'm trying gradual withdrawal and trying not to feed to sleep. Worked fine last night but tonight she just sobbed so I caved v quickly. I guess I'll persist but I'm not really sure what to do if she continues being upset with it. She's very headstrong!

Purpleboa · 06/06/2016 21:35

Anyone else having a nightmare getting baby to sleep at night? It's never been easy, but the last week or so some nights have taken hours! Three hours and counting tonight, and she's still up! It's very hot and humid here today, so maybe that's it. I'm at the end of my tether, got to be up early for work tomorrow and I'm insanely tired!

fluffikins · 06/06/2016 21:57

Have you got blackout blinds? Must be the heat I guess. It's been cooler here than up north and bedtimes have been ok, she did wake up with a v high temp last night and think it's due to me over dressing her so tonight she's in a lot less.

deathb4decaf · 07/06/2016 12:13

purple what's her day sleep like? (actually, what's everyones dc's day sleep like?) Im wondering if DD needs to go down to one nap.

DD has been going to sleep as normal at night but definitely not getting tired til later on, the time she actually falls asleep has naturally moved from 6.30pm to about 7.45pm in the last few days. Unfortunately she still wakes up at 5.30/6am!

LittlePixieMa · 11/07/2016 21:54

Hey all
How are things? Is anyone still here?!

Baby pixie is now 13 months, walking and being extra busy!!

Sleep is a lot better (still in my bed) but he usually only wakes about 3 times which is a huge improvement!!

Hope you're all well xx

Hi everyone! Glad things are better Pixie Ma! We're ok here. DD is 12 months now. Sleep still isn't great. She's in with me still, waking about 3 or 4 times. Not too bad but as I'm back at work, nowhere near where is like it to be! Trying to muster up the courage and strength to night wean, we really need to! Anyone else still night feeding??

LittlePixieMa · 22/09/2016 08:06

Hey all!!

How is everyone doing?!!

We are still the same.... cosleeping, a million night wakings...... sigh...
