Any of this familiar?

1 baby needs to be constantly held
2 feeds frequently during the day
3 feeds or comfort sucks through the night
4 won't sleep alone
5 HATES the pram and/or car seat
6 takes short naps
7 doesn't like being held / left with others
8 gets bored or over stimulated very quickly

Feeling exhausted and want some support from others with spirited fussy babies

Llama the freedom of being around horses is bliss isn't it?! Dissolves so many stresses. Do you manage to get DS in a back carry by yourself? I've not tried it yet.....

DS is currently attached to boob. I've been attempted to roll onto my back the last week during his naps, but even that wakes him.

I also use white noise, not sure if it makes any difference. I use the app called relax melodies which is awesome, has the choice of lots of different sounds. I also bought another 4 apps in the hope one would work a miracle

Ds is down, he took a bottle again from dp and fell asleep.

He has been a little shit all day though

CaptainWarbeck · 02/02/2016 03:50

We use a battery white noise thing too. I think because we've used it so much it helps him drift off now. We use it religiously and panic when it dies on us!

Horrible sleep last night here. Up every hour to feed and he wouldn't sleep in his bed so he was in with me.

Plus the last three nights he's soaked his nappy through his grobag and into my/his bed. Don't know why, we've tried a size up and the same thing happens. Guessing it's either all the feeding or all the rolling about he's started doing.

Plus I'm away for a half day of work tomorrow so have been trying to prep for that today. He knows when he doesn't have my absolute full attention so I've resorted to using his nap time for work which is normally my downtime! Argh. I need an IV line of caffeine today.

nailsathome · 02/02/2016 07:47

Sorry you had a rough night captain.

I remember with dd there was a period of nappy leaking. Maybe it's a between sizes thing. It lasted a few months then just stopped

3sugarsplease · 02/02/2016 08:00

We also use white noise religiously! Sometimes I actually think it's not doing anything for us but in my head I think it does!

Terribly night our end too. My parents picked him up from SIL so he slept late in the car and then on he way home too so he woke up at 1,3,5,7. Tired doesn't cut it today. I think i will be remaining in PJ's!

Captain have you tried tesco nappies. I think they have inbetween sizes. They do like a 3 midi and a maxi I think.

3sugarsplease · 02/02/2016 08:01

Essie did you manage to get him down or did he stay sleeping on you?

LittlePixieMa · 02/02/2016 08:03

Captain DS went through a phase of wetting through his grobag into my bed. Double nappy, one correct size then a size up. Here's an IV line of espresso for you BrewBrew

Thanks guys. Sometimes just knowing there's other people who feel your tiredness-pain really helps!

Double nappy pixie?

Mind. Blown.

LittlePixieMa · 03/02/2016 07:59

< carries in a huge tray of coffee, matchsticks for the eyes, and choccie biscuits>

Good shit morning all!!

Oh my god im soooooo tired!!!!! DS woke up at 1.30am and puked (proper sick) all over me and the cover, then went back to sleep leaving me soaked and smelly!! Managed to wipe it up with a towel, but couldn't get back to sleep as it smelt disgusting. DH left at 6am for work which means I can't have a shower so have had to baby wipe myself clean! DS is fine so no idea what that was about!!!

Pixie nice smelly day for you Wink

DS was practically up all night, screaming, can only assume it's teeth, and he's so grumpy today, and refusing to nap, it's going to be a long one I feel!

CaptainWarbeck · 03/02/2016 09:58

Poor you pixie smelly baby sick is the worst!

There must be something in the water sugar. DS was up properly screaming in the night, was worried something was seriously wrong. Think it was teeth though, he settled after calpol and cuddles.

I think we are all due a good night soon!!!

deathb4decaf · 03/02/2016 11:12

Morning!

We got up for the day at 5.30 as usual!

Oh pixie I feel your pain! I feel gross 99% of the time...

My white noise machine arrived, it's currently clipped onto the sling... Let's see how long she naps!

DD has her two bottom teeth coming through and she's already biting me!

I don't want to jinx it but I think her awake time might be extending past two hours... The last couple of days she has gone 2.5-3 hours. Fingers crossed!!

EssiesInvisibleLlama · 03/02/2016 17:20

Well last night I didn't spend any time on my feet which I see as a win though i did feed him about a trilion times and he did have to sleep basically attached to me all night though so I ached like hell when I woke up. However there was no screaming and no pacing about rocking him so I consider that a Good Night.

Re the sling. I have managed to back carry him at home quite successfully. I tried it at the yard yesterday and his bloody hat kept falling off so I had to give up and put him on my front so I could keep an eye on his hat, front carry makes yard jobs much harder. I've ordered him a hat with ties.

He's utterly knackered today cos I took him with a friend to a sensory play centre with a mega soft play and a light up ball pit and stuff. Little mind blown. Bless him. He just fell asleep on my boob so I'm enjoying not being able to move for a while.

How do you get your babies into gro bags at night? Often ds is slung to sleep so then I've got to get him out and into his sleeping bag which is a right mission.

LittlePixieMa · 03/02/2016 20:32

Llama sounds like last night was good!! God grobags are a nightmare!!! Take DS Out of sling, he wakes, shush him while I put grobag on, he cries, shove boob in mouth!

How do you get yours into a back carry by yourself?!! I'd be scared of dropping DS!!

OP posts:
LittlePixieMa · 03/02/2016 20:49

Hmmmm DS fell asleep at 6, he usually goes to sleep at 8-8.30, does this mean he'll be in at stupid a clock?!!

3sugarsplease · 03/02/2016 21:25

Pixie I'm thinking positive for you! Now time for you to catch up on some sleep!

DS went down at 6.50, he's been dosed up with baby Vicks, olbas oil and nurofen. Fingers crossed he has a better sleep Grin

EssiesInvisibleLlama · 03/02/2016 22:02

I have to sit down while I get him on my back. I need to practise before I can do it standing up!

I've never noticed any correlation between going to bed and wake up time. We've had bedtime at 6pm and up at 7am and the bedtime at 11pm and up at 4:45am. There is absolutely no pattern which is why I think the people who bang on about getting babies into routines are talking bollocks.

CaptainWarbeck · 04/02/2016 00:56

I have to lie sling on bed, lie baby on sling, sort out shoulder ties and then put him on like a backpack. He always giggles at this which melts my heart. We have a connecta. I really like it.

Tbh I find front carries way easier so most of the time he's up on my front. Will practice the back carry though as that's soo much easier for cooking dinner etc.

Our grobag goes on after his bath with much crying and gnashing of teeth and then he comes into my arms to feed to sleep, which most of the time he does pretty well.

Hope you got a nice hot shower after your sicky night yesterday pixie!

I also notice no correlation llama on bedtimes and wake up times, also think it's bollocks!

deathb4decaf · 04/02/2016 07:46

Morning all!

Been up since 4.30am! DD needed nappy change then decided she had to practice crawling on the bed. She screamed if I tried holding, rocking or anything like that. Managed to get her back to sleep after a couple of hours messing about! Obviously I couldn't get back to sleep after that...I'm lying here while she sleeps thinking about coffee and food!

I also do grobag before feeding to sleep, it does get a bit hot that way though. Sometimes if I think she's too hot I take her back out of the sleeping bag, feed to sleep then try to get her back in it, which is tricky! If she's in a deep sleep I can do it quickly then pick her up and jiggle her and it usually works...

She's awake! How was everyone's night?

nailsathome · 04/02/2016 09:27

Awake every hour for 40mins! Dp took him most of the night. I think his first day at nursery exploded his brain!

deathb4decaf · 04/02/2016 11:20

Aww nails I hope he sleeps better tonight! How did he get on at nursery?

nailsathome · 04/02/2016 12:20

They said he's not the worst they've ever had but he wasn't happy.

I've just been to see a health visitor who happens to be a sleep specialist. She's writing me a plan which I'll share with you all when I get it

3sugarsplease · 05/02/2016 08:24

How did everyone sleep?

Excited for this sleep plan nails!

Purpleboa · 05/02/2016 09:32

Yes Nails please do share!

Just feeding DD and then am going to attempt to place her in the cot for her nap!! Haven't tried for ages but my dad had some success with getting her to nap on her cot last week, so I feel I should be trying again. It's very tempting to just go with the usual of her sleeping on me as I know she'll get a good sleep and I can relax. In the cot she'll prob only do 30 mins. But I know I need to do it for the long term benefits! Wish me luck...

3sugarsplease · 05/02/2016 10:23

Good luck purple - I have everything crossed for you! DS has just woke from an hour and a half nap so hopefully there is something in the water today!
