Any of this familiar?

1 baby needs to be constantly held
2 feeds frequently during the day
3 feeds or comfort sucks through the night
4 won't sleep alone
5 HATES the pram and/or car seat
6 takes short naps
7 doesn't like being held / left with others
8 gets bored or over stimulated very quickly

Feeling exhausted and want some support from others with spirited fussy babies

If so join the club Smile

Hey everyone!
My DS has been much better this past week, only waking 2 or 3 times, woohoo!! Failing with transferring into the cot, but hey ho. Also bedtimes have been gone 9, he just won't give in to tiredness!!

Llama sorry you had a disaster day yesterday, what is it with cars? What career do you use? I got rid of the carrycot type one I had for a bigger upright one, and the difference is amazing!!! Providing he's not tired he no longer cries! So I can get out and about! I avoid driving if he's tired as he still refuses to sleep in it. Glad you're journey was good today!!

Captain sorry you're not well. I've got one too, sore throat and cough is especially bad as night, I have to try to not cough or I'll wake DS!

Woohoo for the good journey Llama.

DS is a pain in the car ...... Until I put Now that's what I call Disney on! Shuts him up immediately!

EssiesInvisibleLlama · 20/01/2016 21:35

pixie Yeah bedtime is whenever he is finally knackered enough to sleep here too which can be any time. Makes it impossible to even vaguely plan our evening!

I've still got him in a baby maxi cosi seat but planning on getting a more upright one soon. I know they are meant to stay rear facing for as long as poss but I'm tempted to change him to forward facing so he can see me as that might help avoid meltdowns like yesterday.

nails I have to sing wheels on the bus at full volume to calm ds down in the car!

Sleep well all!

LittlePixieMa · 20/01/2016 21:46

Llama my new one is still rear facing, I think because it's higher he can look properly out the window which helps. And also he's hates the lying position of the baby ones.

Have an awesome night everyone!!!

Thanks everyone, finally feel like I've come out the other side of this cold which is great. Had to call on my dad to come help out with DS so I could go to bed for a bit, he is the least paternal/baby-y person I know but apparently he was very proud to be asked to help. Who knew!

Glad your drive went okay llama. What a champ sleeping all the way there! We have a rear facing seat too. I'd love him to be able to see me but the safety aspect wins over I think. I do sing lots of loud baby group songs in the car to keep him happy though poor baby

I'm going to try your comfort muslin trick db4d. DS has been scratching at my chest in the sling just before he drops off so stuffing a muslin there might protect me a bit too!

He's been sleeping a lot better lately, I think the teeth cutting through before were the problem. He does roll about in his bed though, I keep having to locate him and retrieve him from the end when he wants a feed in the night!

Hope everyone is having a decent sleep tonight.

nailsathome · 21/01/2016 06:57

We went forward facing a while ago and it did help.

He slept 8-4 and is still in bed now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CaptainWarbeck · 21/01/2016 10:46

Omg nails that is an amazing sleep!!

nailsathome · 21/01/2016 10:54

I know captain! And he is actually quite cheerful this morning!

EssiesInvisibleLlama · 21/01/2016 16:29

OK people. Late afternoon naps. WTF do I do when he falls asleep at 4pm and wants to keep sleeping??? Do I wake him after 30 mins? Accept he is miserable during the evening anyway, or do I let him sleep longer in the hope he is more cheerful but risk not getting him into bed til 10pm+? ARGH!

nails What a hero, 8-4! Thats fab!

nailsathome · 21/01/2016 16:54

Haha Llama I could have written that myself. DS went to sleep at 15:20 and is still soundo. I have a numb bum and a sore nipple! I don't know what's best but I'm giving this a go today.

EssiesInvisibleLlama · 21/01/2016 19:31

I bottled it and woke him at 4:45, he wasn't too manic this evening actually and has just gone to sleep on my boob on the sofa at 7:30 so fairly successful. How did you get on?

nailsathome · 21/01/2016 19:56

I woke him at 5. He is currently attached to a boob and asleep Smile

EssiesInvisibleLlama · 21/01/2016 20:01

High fives!

LittlePixieMa · 21/01/2016 21:20

Lol my DS always naps from 4-6pm whether I wake him or not he's still a grump bag!

I had to take him off at 8:15 to go to pole.

He didn't go to sleep again until 9:45! Maybe it wasn't a good idea. We'll see how he does overnight.

EssiesInvisibleLlama · 22/01/2016 05:47

Gah! Up at 2am and 5am to deal with poo. No idea why he's pooing so much. It started when he had a cold which he seems well over now. He's pooing about 10 times in 24 hours. Sad looks like we're up for the day at 5.

nails what's pole?

I'm knackered.

CaptainWarbeck · 22/01/2016 06:17

BrewBrewBrew for llama

I find it really weird how babies poo in the night, it's a rare occasion that I ever get the urge at 2am! DS is always wide awake after it too which just adds insult to injury really.

nailsathome · 22/01/2016 07:31

Llama it's pole fitness, my one hour a week I get to myself!

deathb4decaf · 22/01/2016 08:21

Morning everyone!

llama you've probably thought of this but have you eaten something that might have gone through to him? I had too much orange juice one day, that was bad!
DD also favours the 5am poo, but she hasn't done one (at all) for a couple of days which is unusual, especially considering she had calpol last night. (Not well again) I'm dreading the inevitable poo-nami! It must be weaning related.

Comfort object update: she hasn't been that interested since! I'm persevering though.

Currently doing sling nap 1 of the day and I'm actually sitting down! What a treat.

How is it today pixie?

LittlePixieMa · 23/01/2016 15:29

All better now, thank god!! He slept latched onto it last night which was soooo painful, but it cleared it! Yippee!!

How is everyone?

EssiesInvisibleLlama · 23/01/2016 18:42

Hurrah so glad to hear that pixie well done.

All ok here. He woke up at 4:45 am and I though we were up for the day but I managed to get him back off til 7am! Yay.

Think he's teething cos nappies are V frequent and the dribble is copious! Went swimming today. He always looks a bit shell shocked but he seems to enjoy it.

I just had a gin and tonic Grin

EssiesInvisibleLlama · 23/01/2016 18:44

Db4d I've racked my brains over whether or not I've eaten anything weird but I don't think so. I'm putting it down to teething I think. He seems fine otherwise?

nailsathome · 23/01/2016 19:18

I'm glad it's better Pixie
