Any of this familiar?

1 baby needs to be constantly held
2 feeds frequently during the day
3 feeds or comfort sucks through the night
4 won't sleep alone
5 HATES the pram and/or car seat
6 takes short naps
7 doesn't like being held / left with others
8 gets bored or over stimulated very quickly

Feeling exhausted and want some support from others with spirited fussy babies

If so join the club Smile

Glad to hear it's better pixie!

not too bad here, DD went in her cot for two hours last night! She's got a cold so maybe she was just knackered. Or maybe it was the muslin cloth comforter I put in with her?! Or just DD getting my hopes up?

llama DD also woke at 4.50am! How long did it take you to get your DS back to sleep? Takes me an hour or more!

LittlePixieMa · 23/01/2016 21:09

Llama hope you enjoyed your g&t! Perhaps it'll get into your milk and help the LO sleep!!

Db4d 2 hours ! Yay that's awesome!! I've been lazy again and can't be bothered to transfer him!!

We've had a good day, been to a national trust farm and looked at all the cute animal, then went to soft play! He's been super cute and awesome and has been saying mamama today which I'm going to claim as Mama though I'm sure it's just a sound to add to his collection of gagaga and bababaca

Db4d took me best part of an hour to get him back to sleep but then we overslept and the poor shopping delivery man practically had to break the front door down to wake us up! Whoops! I leapt out of bed and ran down to take delivery of it all and when I went back up to check ds he was still sparko! Why can I never normally sneak away without him waking? Perhaps that's the key, speed!

pixie I say mamama to ds and he thinks it's hilarious. We went to a nt property today it was lovely. DS slept in the buggy pretty much the whole time, he's really getting the hang of the buggy sleeps now. Then we went for dinner at my parents and he was awake all evening cos he was so excited! Hmm

LittlePixieMa · 25/01/2016 09:22

Little Pixie monster decided 4.30 am was time to get up! Arghhhhh!!! He's currently grumbling away as he's tired but won't sleep!

Llama you're doing so well with the buggy naps!!! Maybe I should try again! When you started them did he cry to sleep?

OP posts:
LittlePixieMa · 25/01/2016 09:22

Yarp is all okay? Haven't seen you on here for a while xx

OP posts:
EssiesInvisibleLlama · 25/01/2016 09:39

pixie to begin with he'd cry after he'd been in there a few mins so I'd take him out and put in the sling and then he'd go to sleep. I must have looked a right tit walking round the village with empty buggy and baby in sling but never mind. I just kept doing that and the time he'd tolerate the buggy got longer and longer until eventually he started going to sleep in it. To begin with he'd wake up the moment it stopped moving but now, as long as he's properly asleep he'll stay asleep if I park it up. It was a pain in the arse to 'train' him but worth it and no crying involved cos I can't handle that!

EssiesInvisibleLlama · 25/01/2016 09:39

Sorry you were up so early too. We were up at 5. Hmm

Yarpyarp · 25/01/2016 10:01

Morning everyone! Hey pixie yes still here!! Smile

Just been muddling through really. Not much to report. Ditched pram naps when in the house as its too time consuming, but pleased to say pram naps outdoors are pretty standard now.

Bedtime has improved without any training (yay). Still waking every 3 hours at night but I just deploy the boob each time and some mornings I'm not quite sure what's gone on the night before! It's manageable though.

Currently swaying about in the kitchen when there's 101 jobs to do!

Hope you all have a good day x

deathb4decaf · 25/01/2016 10:17

Swaying in the kitchen here too!

5am wake up here too, it's like they've all plotted it together!

We've had more cot success, she stays in there for an hour or two so atleast I can come down and eat something now! Just got to work on keeping her in there....

the stranger anxiety is still bad 😕

DP has a job interview this morning then he's working a late shift, it's gona be a lonnnng day!

EssiesInvisibleLlama · 25/01/2016 19:16

Yeah pram naps in the house are a write off here too. I have to take him out for a walk to get him to sleep.

I'm still feeding him every 2 hours at night. I don't really properly wake up though so sometimes I have no idea whats really happened during the night! DH is in the spare room though and looks likely to remain there for some time.

Hope the job interview went well.

God I ache today. I feel a hundred.

LittlePixieMa · 25/01/2016 21:33

These little spirited ones are definitely taking their toll on our bodies!! I also ache soooo much, but hey ho, it will pass.

Baby pixie has been whingy today, think another tooth is coming. He's also taken to biting me, chin, shoulder, nipple. When he bites my nipple he clamps down so hard I can't de latch him, then looks up and laughs ConfusedConfused he's also given me a love bite on my chin, the joys!!

Hey Yarp! Glad you're well. Think we're all just muddling through!!

Db4d did his interview go well?

So for pram's naps, where do I start? Haven't used it since November and that was a fail! Do I start when he's happy? Then gradually put him in it when he's getting towards a nap? Would def take the carrier with me just in case!

OP posts:
deathb4decaf · 25/01/2016 22:09

Ow pixie that sounds painful, how many teeth has he got?

Interview went well, they offered him the job!

Pram naps- I go out with DD about 15 mins before she should be asleep, it takes 15 mins ish to get her to sleep usually.
We started putting her in the pushchair (reclined almost flat) at about five months. She never liked being in the carrycot or being pushed about in the car seat!

I have no idea what happens at night either, it's always a blur!

nailsathome · 26/01/2016 06:55

DS has hand, foot and mouth. He would only sleep on us last night Confused

LittlePixieMa · 26/01/2016 14:04

Nails oh no. Poor little thing. What are the symptoms for HFM? Xx

OP posts:
LittlePixieMa · 26/01/2016 14:06

Db4d he has 3 bottom and 2 top. Ouch indeed!! Glad the interview went well and he got the job!! When the weather improves I'll be attempting a pram nap, he's nearly 8 months so wondering if I've left it too long.....?! Really windy here today, the weather not me!! X

OP posts:
nailsathome · 26/01/2016 15:13

Blister rash on hands, feet and mouth. Cold-like symptoms. He just wants to be cuddled but in a whimpery I'm poorly way rather than his usual I demand it.

It can increase the risk of mc so I'm a bit worried about that. The official advice is to limit contact with the infected person. Haha yeah right!

LittlePixieMa · 26/01/2016 16:00

Aww bless. What's MC? Baby pixie isn't feeling well, constant whinge and a bit of a temperature :-(

OP posts:
nailsathome · 26/01/2016 16:51

Miscarriage

I hope she feels better soon. Nothing like a high needs poorly baby!

deathb4decaf · 26/01/2016 17:18

Oh no! We had this recently nails we all got different symptoms. Hope he feels better soon and hope u manage to escape it!

The weather is awful, dp was going to take did out for a pram nap this morning til he saw outside, dammit!

I'm really aching today, dd is so heavy, the cat napping is so relentless. I'm going to have to start trying to settle her in the cot in the day otherwise I'll be carting her round til she's 5!! I don't even know where to start...

EssiesInvisibleLlama · 26/01/2016 18:47

Oh nails you poor things. That's a worry. Hope you don't get it.

DS has gone to sleep at 6:30pm. I hope this doesn't backfire and he's not up at 4am. He nailed rolling both ways today so has worn himself out practising it. Bless.

pixie the biting sounds awful! Re the pram naps I'd start when he's happy and progress towards nap time. I'm at the stage now where if he's knackered and whinging I can bung him in the pram and pull the hood down and walk and he's asleep within 5 mins but it's taken ages to get to this point. I never persevered with the carry cot or car seat on the pram cos he hated both and he likes to be sat up in it so I wait til he's asleep then recline it.

Db4d great news on the job!

Bloody windy here too. It scares me!

LittlePixieMa · 26/01/2016 18:48

Nails god they do like to scare us with all the risks when pregnant, perhaps pregnant people should live in a padded cell!

Db4d please find a gentle way to get them napping in their cots and teach us how to do it!! With no crying! I'll buy you a bottle of champagne in return!! lol

OP posts:
LittlePixieMa · 26/01/2016 18:52

Arghhhh

I'm currently stuck on the bed with DS, my shoulder hurts from lying on my side, but every time I roll on to my back he wakes. Humph!!

OP posts:
deathb4decaf · 26/01/2016 20:20

Did you manage to roll away pixie?

I'm stuck on the bed settling DD again...

Maybe when DP starts his new job and doesn't have to do shifts anymore I'll have more chance of working on this cot malarkey?!
I can't imagine it'll be tear free but if I manage to find the holy grail I will let you know!

I read the no cry sleep solution and I'm thoroughly confused about what to do Confused

Yarpyarp · 26/01/2016 20:26

I know that feeling pixie - it's like being put in a stress position sometimes!

I'd love to do cot naps but unfortunately naps are now 30/40 mins max and so I just give in and chuck the sling on for ease!

Wishing a speedy recovery to nails LO, and you too pixie

LittlePixieMa · 26/01/2016 20:43

db4d nope never managed to roll away. It ended up being a 30 minute nap! I'm now on the bed again trying to get him to sleep!! Haha, yes I agree with the confusion over where to start with the no cry sleep solution!! I figure that the first step is the pantley pull off to get him to sleep without a boob, and then work on the cot...... I'm just too tired to be bothered!!

Did I mention that DS fell asleep with his eyes open the other day?! Soooo freaky!!

Yarp yeah we have mostly 30 minutes naps, seems pointless to try the cot, by the time cot naps happen he'll have stopped needing a nap!!

I got the whole lecture from my MIL again, 'he'll have to start sleeping in the cot' 'you'll have to just put him down' wouldn't listen to me at all, if I could put him down then I would!!! Arghhhhh!!

Hopefully tonight they'll all sleep through.........
