Any of this familiar?

1 baby needs to be constantly held
2 feeds frequently during the day
3 feeds or comfort sucks through the night
4 won't sleep alone
5 HATES the pram and/or car seat
6 takes short naps
7 doesn't like being held / left with others
8 gets bored or over stimulated very quickly

Feeling exhausted and want some support from others with spirited fussy babies

If so join the club Smile

Yay for the "good" sleep Smile

Yeah I'm going back to work but just found out I'm pg with DC3! Bit of a shock and I'm not sure how I'll cope, especially if it's another one of these

Yarpyarp · 07/01/2016 09:24

Congratulations nails!

LittlePixieMa · 07/01/2016 09:45

Nails congratulations!!!! How many weeks? Hopefully it will be a sleepy little chilled out Baba! Xx

Only 5 weeks. DD was a lovely feed-nap-pooh-repeat baby so I'm hopeful!

DS has man flu a cold so is even more clingy than usual. He is currently asleep attached to my nipple so I can have some peace! He also likes having his bum smacked fairly firmly to get him to sleep. Anyone else's like strange things like that?

deathb4decaf · 07/01/2016 11:38

Morning!

Congratulations nails! Aww lovely news.

Mines a bottle refuser too. The annoying thing is she used to take a bottle. And a dummy! But then I got worried it was interfering with establishing bf. So I stopped. I've been kicking myself I didn't carry on ever since!

DD went in her cot for 45 mins last night (I did have to drape myself half in the cot half in the bed and feed her to sleep in there though!) she wouldn't settle in there properly after that so ended up in bed where she slept well, latching on and off in her sleep. She woke up at 4.30 for an hour, managed to get her to have a bit more sleep til 7. I didn't get any more though. Hoping for a slightly later bed time this evening! Hmmm!

LittlePixieMa · 07/01/2016 11:42

Nails haha yes I thump pat my DS's bum firmly to get him to sleep! I tried gently stroking his face yesterday and he batted my hand away!

LittlePixieMa · 07/01/2016 11:48

Db4d lol, imagining you draping a boob over the cot! You should get in with her next time WinkWink

deathb4decaf · 07/01/2016 11:52

Yes recently discovered she likes quite firm back rubbing and bum patting. My aunt swore by gently, barely stroking her babies temples...tried it on DD, she just looked annoyed!

deathb4decaf · 07/01/2016 11:54

Haha I was pretty much in the cot! My boobs don't stretch very far sadly.

EssiesInvisibleLlama · 07/01/2016 13:32

Haha! Yes DS likes the bum patting when in the sling, accompanied by bouncing up and down on the gym ball and shhhing.

Congrats Nails lovely news!

We had an ok night. He went to sleep about 7:30 and I think I fed him 3 or 4 times but the best news is that he didn't have any midnight parties so we were in bed ALL NIGHT and better still he slept until 6:45! Best morning we've had in a fortnight at least. I felt amazing when I saw the little hand near the 7 this morning!!!

My car has passed its MOT as well and my Mum is taking DS for a buggy nap at 3:30 so today is a Good Day!

I have also managed to make chilli beef in the slow cooker and commence my online tax return (1% complete but I've at least made a start!), so feeling quite smug and organised today.

I ordered DS a slumber buddy, which arrived today too. Took him upstairs and closed the black out curtains and put it on to see what he thought. Bottom lip started to quiver and then he cried. Think we'll need to do a bit more conditioning with that before I can consider using it at night!

LittlePixieMa · 07/01/2016 21:23

Woohoo llama, glad your car passed!! Yay to no midnight parties! Hopefully tonight will be another success! 1% of a tax return is good. Just to show off I did mine before my DS was born, thank god! What's a slumber buddy? Feeling too lazy to google it!!!

LittlePixieMa · 07/01/2016 22:03

Haha, healthy dinner nails!!

Do you lot go to any classes?

I'm starting sing and sign next week! Also daring to drive into Cambridge tomorrow (hope he doesn't cry the whole way) to go to Shake Rattle and Roll, some live music things for babies....... Which really means a bunch of mums holding their babies bopping around looking like twats

EssiesInvisibleLlama · 07/01/2016 22:41

Slumber buddy is a cuddly toy that projects stars onto the ceiling and plays lullabies. It's battery operated so I'm hoping to make it a part of his bedtime routine that is portable to help with sleep when we are not at home. otherwise we may not go away for the next 5+ years. Got it from amazon after a recommendation from a friend. The reviews on amazon were amazing!

Chilli beef was good! Yum to KFC though. Nearest one is bloody miles away from us.

I cannot find my p60. Hmm

We go to local village baby group and are starting swimming lessons this weekend but that's it. We did try baby massage but ds either cried or slept so it wasn't a lot of fun! I'd probably go to more but they all involve a car ride which I tend to avoid! Let us know what shake rattle and roll is like!

nailsathome · 08/01/2016 03:14

Still awake Sad

Dp has been pacing with him all night with be feeding every couple of hours.

I feel guilty that dp has to do that. He doesn't mind at all, he says I have him all day, we are both his parents so both have to deal with him and I'm exhausted by him and need to sleep. But I still apologise all of the time.

LittlePixieMa · 08/01/2016 07:44

Nails oh no, what time did your LO go to sleep in the end? You've got your OH well trained!! Mine just rolls over and snores!! Haha!

Llama haha, should know what a slumber buddy is as I've got one. An elephant which projects stars and currently lives at the bottom of his toy box! Also got Ewan the sheep. --Wasted so much money on crap trying to fix my DS

well good night here, he wok once but I woke him about 3 times trying to get comfy so I'm not counting those

Hope you find your P60 llama

EssiesInvisibleLlama · 08/01/2016 08:05

nails hope you got some sleep. Your DH DP sounds ace, I don't let my DH help at night cos he's such a miserable git the next day if he hasn't slept enough Angry

pixie My friend said she had to condition her dd to the slumber buddy but just sticking it on every evening while she did bedtime and eventually it became a comforter. I'm hopeful!

We had an ok night. He went to bed about 7pm I fed him at 10, 1, 3 and 5 and he got up at 6. Going to local baby group this morning. Going to be brave and walk there with buggy.

deathb4decaf · 08/01/2016 08:49

Morning everyone!

We've got hand, foot and mouth 😩(We think) DP mostly affected with fevers, sore throat and the painful rash on his hands, DD doesn't seem to have had it that bad thank god. I've got the horrendous sore throat (apparently ulcers?! Fucking oww!) I really hope it goes soon, it's been bubbling under the surface for weeks but it wasn't til DP got the rash and asked a doctor friend. Sorry major thread derail! We're all just getting through the days so early nights with DD. she did wake at 4.30 ready to party but I got her back to sleep til 6.30 so not bad. she's having a sling nap atm. This has scuppered my weaning plans. I've got all manner of fruit and veg lined up!

deathb4decaf · 08/01/2016 08:54

pixie we've got a Ewan, a fisher price light up cot rail thing, we did have a chicco light box thing...(broken) She finds them all way way too exciting! Tries to eat them all! Not normal.

nailsathome · 08/01/2016 09:30

He didn't sleep last night. I'm just trying to get him off now.

LittlePixieMa · 08/01/2016 16:35

Hey everyone!

Well I went to Shake Rattle and Roll today. He was ace in the car! Woohoo! Then slept in the sling through most of it! Hey ho!

Llama how was your buggy walk to baby group?

Db4d oh noo, that sucks, how long does it last? What sort or weaning are you doing? Mush or baby led?

Nails how's your day been after such a horrendous night?

I really need to be brave and do morning weaning. I've a huge fear of choking, so much so that every time he coughs I whip him up, even if he's had nothing in his mouth what an idiot
I was brave earlier and have him a baby rice cake, he chewed half off, pull a face and I dived in and scooped it out of his mouth. Help!! How do I stop freaky girl out?!!! I'm a yoga teacher so should be all chilled out!! Arghhhhhh!!!

OP posts:
EssiesInvisibleLlama · 08/01/2016 17:22

Pixie I'm terrified of choking too. How old is he? I was hoping to do baby led cos I can't be arsed with mush spooning and all the faff so I'm waiting til DS can sit up and shove stuff in his mouth himself. I had a piece of cake at baby group today and he grabbed a fistful and tried to shove it in his mouth! 19 weeks is a bit early for that though but I was impressed all the same! He knew exactly what to do with it!

Nails how was your day on no sleep? Hope you are ok.

Db4d Sorry to hear about HFM, my sister had it when she was a baby I remember it well. It was awful (I'm 12 years older than her so can remember her babyhood well!!).

Buggy walk to and from baby group was great, he was perfect, he slept through most of baby group in sling but at least we got out. First swimming lesson tomorrow. DH is going in the pool with him as only one parent allowed in due to space and I'm a crap swimmer and the idea is he learns now so he's not terrified of water like I am. Also longer term plan is once I'm not bfing DH can take him swimming and I can have some time out!

I have found my P60 while DH was bathing baby. PHEW! Now tax return is 12% complete. FFS, it's such a faff.

Hope everyone has a good night.

LittlePixieMa · 08/01/2016 20:26

Llama he's 7 months. I've given him the odd thing like the carrot puffs (which dissolve) and very cooked broccoli but freaks me out!! He hates being treated like a baby so spoon feeding fails. He likes feeding himself the Ella's kitchen pouches, but id prefer to cook him something. MIL just made it worse by telling me he should only be on puréed food and he'll choke otherwise, not helpful at all!! DS loves to feed himself so I use the nuby nibbler which is awesome and stops me freaking!! I wish DH would get more involved with things, feel like it's all on me!

Enjoy swimming! I've not taken mine yet. Yay 12% done, go girl!!!

Little Pixie is being extra clingy tonight. Won't let DH hold him at all, screaming the house down. Oh for 1 minute of me time!!!
