MNHQ- after some pootling about, I seem to have worked out that your status is applied retrospectively to recent name-changes.

Tell me, where does that leave us when we post on bumsex on sensitive topics with a name-change?

If somebody hovers over the namechange days later and sees something fabulously witty that just happens to match what BitOfFun has on her status today, the whole privacy thing is going to fall apart, isn't it?

But presumably when you do your namechange, you just blank out whatever your status is - delete whatever's in that field? It's on the same page (I think), so it wouldn't be hard.

But you would have to know that you have to do that, IYSWIM, so yes I see your point - maybe there could be a reminder on the Registration Details page.

Have a mess about and check- I can namechange and leave the field blank, but if I (maybe days later?) put a status update on my usual name, it then actually pops up on the embarrassing anonymous thread. Really, it does, I've checked.

what do you mean by status? profile?

Maggie- it is a new feature in your registration details which allows you to add a status, which other users see if they hover over your name with the cursor. Not everybody is using it yet, but give it a try and you'll see what I mean.
