Is anyone else being bombarded by ads for 18+ websites? These ads are coming up in every thread dotted throughout the posts.

Targeted ads are based on your browsing history, or possibly on the browsing history of someone using your internet connection…

GeorgeMichaelsCat · 28/05/2026 21:16

I saw an advert that showed three nude women's bottoms the other day on an advert on MN. I guarantee I have nothing like that in my browsing history.

Greenfinch7 · 28/05/2026 21:16

I have been getting lots of ads for toe separators and rat poison. I have no interest or search history relating to either of these things, and no-one but me uses my laptop.

Lararoft · 28/05/2026 21:23

Yes i keep getting these adverts too & as a single straight woman who lives alone it’s a little worrying!! I don’t look at porn ever. Or do online dating (and if I did I would be only looking for men!) or ever even browse online dating sites. Also, I’m using Mumsnet from a brand new smartphone on which i haven’t even bothered to verify that I’m over 18 yet!

I really really do not want to be reading a thread with random pop ups of women every few paragraphs who look like they belong on babestation!! Sort it out please Mumsnet!!

Hi all

We're looking at this now and we apologise - we thought we'd managed to catch all of these. We'll be back to update ASAP.

wlinewbie26 · 28/05/2026 22:33

Def nothing on my browsing history or algorithm. They first appeared today when I was out of the house as we went on a day trip - so no internet access for the whole day.

Thanks @LilyMumsnet

Hi all, thanks again for alerting us to these ads. We've hopefully blocked them all by now, but if you see any others please let us know. You may need to clear your cookies to ensure they don't still crop up.

Sunshineandgrapefruit · 29/05/2026 19:23

They are still appearing on my app. Now moved to the advertisement bar at the top.

astrakan · 31/05/2026 10:50

I’m still seeing these - have cleared Internet cache and deleted and reinstalled the mumsnet app. Using the app on an iPhone

carwashthecat · 31/05/2026 13:44

I’m still seeing them too..very distracting

glaciercherry · 31/05/2026 16:08

I’m still seeing them. Even on this thread! They pop up for a few seconds then switch to something else.

wlinewbie26 · 31/05/2026 16:32

I’m still seeing them too 🤦🏻‍♀️

I've been bombarded by these ads as well. It's ridiculous and unwanted.

Sunshineandgrapefruit · 31/05/2026 22:14

So irritating. It's there on every page. Any update?

RumNotRun · 31/05/2026 23:33

Snap! And as a single woman living alone, I can guarantee nothing like this has been searched. Well unless the cats have learned to use the internet.

LotusLovett · Yesterday 00:28

They disappeared for me and have now come back

It might be something to do with the picture of three or four naked young girls taken from behind, clearly showing their buttocks that Mumsnet themselves posted. There were many posters asking them to remove the picture which I see Mumsnet have quietly done in the last few days.

Mumsnet #here for the protection of women and girls.

They were children.

They were children.

Were they? They looked adult to me.The photo was tiny.

I’m still being plagued by this jiggling woman, appearing after every 5 comments..on everything I’m trying to read I’ve tried uninstalling the app, it’s made no difference
