Every time this advert is in a thread it opens the Amazon haul page, whether i want it to or not, (and I do not), even if I just breathe at it, boom, Amazon Haul opens. Its ridiculously sensitive and very very annoying. And it seems to be the only advert I am seeing across allllllll MN threads. Every time I try to scroll past it, it opens Amazon Haul. Every single time. Arggggghhhhh!!!!!

Mumsnet, you have been told about these over sensitive Amazon add repeatedly, why can't they be fixed?!?!?

It did this to me once earlier and I was like wtaf is this?!?

ArcticBlue · 09/05/2026 21:57

Happening to me too. I stopped using Mumsnet on my laptop entirely because of the ads, making me think I may need to give up on the app too

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/05/2026 21:58

Having same issue on app. As o swipe down always gets the Amazon ad and takes to site and I obv come back to mn

Everintroverte · 09/05/2026 22:14

Same here, very frustrating

Spidey66 · 10/05/2026 10:28

Same here, so annoying. Like we don't know about Amazon, they're hardly a start up trying to get themselves known FFS.

JoMumsnet · 10/05/2026 12:11

Hi all,

Sorry to hear that these ads are causing problems for many of you.

We released a new version of the iOS app on Friday that should fix these ad issues, meaning they should only open if you deliberately click on them.
The app should update automatically, but if you're still experiencing problems please go to the App store and click on the Update button.

We're currently testing the new build on Android and aim to get that released as soon as possible.

Do let us know how you get on.

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/05/2026 17:24

Still does it for me

Schoolchoicesucks · 11/05/2026 18:38

Please get the android fix out asap, this is bonkers level of frustration. I don't want to see these ads in the first place but will tolerate the scroll. Having to wait for them to open fully so I can close them is the pits.

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/05/2026 17:24

Still does it for me

And im on iPhone and app up to date

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/05/2026 08:28

And again this morning

Amazon Haul advert opens every time I so much as look at a thread

Hi everyone. Thanks so much for posting about this issue and sharing the screenshots. We have just released an update for Android that includes fixes for the Amazon and audio issues.

Please check your Google Play store today for an update if you think it hasn't happened automatically.

If you think you’re still seeing either issue on iOS or Android today after updating, please let us know.

Thanks for your patience.

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/05/2026 12:22

Still does it for me @BeckyAMumsnet. Not all the time but still happens

last update for iOS says 4 days ago - 45.3.5

TalulahJP · 13/05/2026 16:10

mine seems ok
i just hate the moving sparkling advert though. distracting and annoying! not to mention hideous. it’s not tempting me in lol!

BeckyAMumsnet · 13/05/2026 17:47

Hi all,

A quick update on the issue some users have reported with Amazon ads opening unexpectedly in the iOS and Android apps.

We’ve now been able to recreate the issue, which means we can see what’s happening rather than trying to work from your reports alone. We're now working on a fix. From what we’ve seen, this appears to be happening when users interact with the ad area in the app, rather than deliberately tapping through to Amazon, so we do understand why it’s frustrating.

We'll update again we've released the fix, hopefully not much longer. Thanks so much to everyone who has reported it and shared details, it really does help and we're sorry for the annoyance in the meantime. Any questions/comments do let us know. 🙏

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/05/2026 20:07

I don’t interact with the ad. I’m literally scrolling down and it will click over to Amazon

bananaapplepears · 13/05/2026 20:26

Mine does this too. I thought it was just me.

NeedToKnow101 · 13/05/2026 20:59

Same here.

HarrietSchulenberg · 13/05/2026 21:28

Same. The effect it's having is to make me averse to Amazon.

I’ve done the update and it’s still a chronic problem on iPhone.

Me too.

Normal scrolling should not be triggering the adverts Mumsnet! It makes page navigation difficult and is just very poor UX/UI.

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/05/2026 16:02

@JoMumsnet still seems it’s an issue for a few on iPhones
