sometimes, im not sure why, the post is at the top of the page....normality, for me, is first post at bottom of page and scroll up...is that as it should be?

Don't think I really qualify as an old timer in MN terms (2.4 years)though I do in RL (51.9)

I changed to pages of 100 posts & book style (first post at the top) - I've now got rid of the pages, but still read book style & use the END key to get to the bottom of a thread when I'm coming back to it.

As a very new and shiny MNer, I hesitate to post on this thread but I have some very important questions.

Do old-timers wear stetsons?

Do old-timers smoke cigarillos and meutter out of the corner of their mouths?

Do old timers wear jingling spurs?

Do old timers come in pairs, with one guarding against the backshooters?

Is the mark of an old-timer that they can swing their Cold 45s round through 720 degrees before effortlessly reholstering?

Do old-timers spit? I think they should. Spit derisively where possible.

Do old-timers have a young woman with ample and heaving bosoms on the sidewalks?

hatwoman · 12/06/2008 23:05

no. do you remember when they changed it and we all threatened mutiny so they changed it back, and then reintroduced the changes but with the option of mn-old-fogey style? well I clicked old-fogey style and have never looked back.

charliecat · 12/06/2008 23:07

that was a dreadful day that was hatwoman. Made me feel quite ill IIRC. The change was tooooo much.
Shiny and New?

Nope, not been here all that long but don't like the pages thing. When I tried it, each time I went to a new page it reminded me how much time I was wasting reading twaddle - so I tended to go get a life....If it's all on one page I just get sucked in and forget about the getting a life thing....

Is this good or bad?

Twinklemegan · 12/06/2008 23:15

I'm not particularly an old timer but I used the pages for all of 5 minutes before switching back.

S1ur · 12/06/2008 23:16

Charlie - yes I think I am shiny and new - joined in the McCann nightmare - horrid introduction to MN but still new in oldtimers terms
