Intrusive adverts

I'm having trouble with adverts covering most of the page on MN. If I click on the cross to close them down, it opens a full page of adverts instead. Eventually it minimises to a small moving advert at the bottom of the page, but that covers the MN buttons. It's various adverts, not just one. We're in France, and they are French ads, not sure if that means you can't do anything about it?

@Letthemeatgateau we're looking into this but it would help enormously if you could grab the URL for this ad the next time it pops up.

Thanks Jo, will try. Sods law it's gone forever! There are several different ads, one is for a charity, but they all behave in this way.

I’m having a lot of issues with the website being usable, today seems ok, yesterday it just kept freezing and taking ages to download. I think it’s all the ads. My WiFi is very fast and stable, every other site working, but this one just freezes and does so for at least ten mins. When it eventually downloads everything it’s frozen, then if you close the tab and try again, it’s the same thing.

but if you're seeing those particular ones still, please let us know. And again, grabbing the URL if possible is a big help! Thank you.

Hi there @Letthemeatgateau. We've added some more blocks to this one so hopefully it's appearing less at least, but we're continuing to look into it as clearly the blocks aren't having the desired effect.
