Home layout changed

My homepage layout is absolutely massive now, I've looked for another thread but there was only one from May where the screenshots look like what I have now! It's just so big and hard to navigate, you can only see 2 or 3 posts without scrolling as the beginning of the posts are taking up the screen.
Has anyone else got this recently??

It’s changed in the last hour. It looks really weird and it’s horrible! Trending is no longer in the middle which I loved - it’s difficult to read now. Please change it back!

Oh..mine hasn't changed! Please don't tell me it's about to 😬 I've only just recovered from the dazzling eyestrain caused by the last change!

It's terrible! It's showing photos in the thread preview but with all the massive ads now I can't tell what's an ad and what's a thread. After all the complaints a few weeks ago, mumsnet really haven't learnt any lessons about user testing before roll out. The fact that it's changed for some and not others makes me wonder if they are a/b testing, if so can we ask to be removed from the test group?

Arrgghhh! And now it's back to returning to the top of the page on active and refreshing the posts so I can't keep track of where I am! Hate it!!!

I don't understand why they are imposing all these awful, unnecessary changes on us.
It's almost as though MN want to make the site as unuser friendly as possible.

It's all ad-driven. What it was before worked really well for us, but from MN's point of view it wasn't driving enough traffic to advertisers, so they fixed what wasn't broken, unfortunately.

Really spoils the user experience 😞

Agree. Problem is it looks like it is designed for a computer screen- I, and I expect the majority, use a phone- and it is unusable as the images are too big.

Yes, please change it back - I much preferred the layout with 6 threads featured, where you refreshed and got another 6, etc. It was much easier to manage.

Mine changed yesterday and I HATE it. So hard to use, it's awful 😫

Another one here who hates the new layout. Not user friendly and awful to navigate.

It changed overnight for me and I HATE it.
On the upside, now trending topics isn't a simple small overview on the home page, I'll probably use MN less and get a lot of my time back! Mild addiction vanquished!

Can't view the site anymore on my mobile phone, new layout is awful.
Ah well at least it's fixed my mumsnet addiction as I will no longer be using it.

We know it’s quite a big change, especially if you’ve been used to the old layout, and it’s totally understandable that it doesn’t feel right for everyone straight away.

The new feed is designed to show you active and popular threads more dynamically, but we’re listening closely to all the feedback and will look at what tweaks might help make it easier to use and navigate.

Please do keep telling us what feels awkward or frustrating as that kind of detail really helps us understand what’s working and what’s not.

I use Mumsnet on iPhone or iPad and haven’t seen any difference yet. Don’t you like me? I’ve been very loyal all these years and you toss me out on the rubbish heap when rolling out new ‘dynamic’ shizzle?

@BeckyAMumsnet It's frustrating not to be able to glance at a compact view of the trending threads on the homepage.

It's all too large and awkward to use.

I now have to click on the small AIBU at the top of a thread, which then shows a small Talk tab to click. This finally takes me to the contents page. Such a weird way of having to do it.

It's not user friendly at all. But the adverts are huge and constant so I guess it works for Mumsnet, just not the users.

Oh I see it's the home page.

I've never used that, my MN bookmark is for active convos, which fortunately hasn't changed layout!

Actually @NoCommentingFromNowOn you're one of a very select number of MNers who will from here on receive trending threads via pigeon. Expect the first flock to arrive tomorrow at 7 am... 😉

I followed your link and it's awful. The font is huge, so I only see a couple of posts on my phone screen which means I'm constantly scrolling, which aggravates a shoulder pain - RSI.
I tried tapping the trending button. It doesn't work.

I'm on my laptop and "shopping" is on the top right and "trending" is further down. It used to be the other way round. It's annoying. I'm not interested in shopping threads. Surely most people are interested in the trending posts more than the shopping ones? Most fo the featured posts are just the ones in trending. It's messy, clunky and annoying.

@BeckyAMumsnet this is what I’m seeing now in this thread on Safari on iPhone. Everything is massive on the trending section so it doesn’t even fit in the page
