Problem @ing posters

It's been happening a while now. When I type @ i used to get a scrollable, alphabetic list which would refine as I typed in more letters until I got the poster I wanted.

Now I get a short list, usually headed by the OP, of apparently random other users. It's not scrollable and I have to type the other poster's exact ID, capitalisation, odd spellings, everything. If I get it wrong I could possibly @ the wrong poster or, more likely, I get told it's a nonexistent user and I can't post.

I'd like the previous experience please 🙏 😊

My pull down screen doesn't have the option for a screen recording.

Currently if I try to @ anyone on this thread the popup is headed by me, the OP, and the drop down is only populated by the two other posters on this thread. I'm using a Samsung Galaxy tablet.

@ a poster that isn't on this thread does not add them to the drop down.

@lcakethereforeIam only the posters on the thread will show on the drop down - though if you @ anyone else, e.g. @hebemumsnet then they will get the notification provided they've switched them on.

@BeckyAMumsnet thank you. The dropdown is scrollable now. It still doesn't refine as I type but it's much better. I think I can understand why you don't want to make it easy to @ posters who aren't on the thread.
