Constantly crashing and freezing.

This started about 3 weeks ago with constant crashing. Now it’s freezing too and taking ages to load,

For anyone still experiencing this issue, could you also try changing your privacy settings (privacy settings is linked in the website footer) and then selecting 'Reject-all', and let us know if this stops the issue? Thank you!

Hi @HebeMumsnet just clicked reject all then came off the site for a few mins. Logged back in and the first thread I opened froze about four posts in, seems to be the usual. Not sure if a screenshot will help but here you go.

So now, logging into private I’ve had this a lot of times. Password is definitely correct.

Did the privacy settings. Seemed to help at first but it's crashing and freezing again now.

Thank you to everyone who tried that. We're getting there slowly and it's good to be able to eliminate things.

To get us to a solution quicker, we wondered if anyone having this issue would be prepared to jump on a call with two members of our Tech team and share their screen so we can see exactly what's happening. It would take about 15 minutes.

If anyone has the time to do that, let us know here and we'll be in contact.

@HebeMumsnet that solution worked for me (iPhone, had just updated software, safari). It has stopped the site freezing for me, the ads that previously took ages to load now still take ages, but I can scroll while they load.

It's been a nightmare for months. I thought it was my old iPad, and eventually bought a new one. Marginally better, but not enough to make it a pleasant experience.
If it wasn't for FWR, I wouldn't bother with MN at all.

It had improved for a while but it's as bad as ever again now and my iPad noticeably gets hotter when it does.

I have this problem constantly on my iPhone 8. Just seems to take ages to load adverts. I’ve been on MN for years but this is new. I think, if it isn’t fixed I’m going to have to give up with mn as it is so frustrating

I’m having these problems too. Page freezes and can’t scroll down, refresh the page and I will let me click to read one post then freezes again. I changed the privacy settings as suggested. Any other solutions would be great

Is there any update please? For the past few days, when I try to access MN on my phone, I get the home page from which I click on active conversations. It then takes 4-5 minutes for the page to load, meaning I get half a list of active conversations listed but unable to scroll up or down. Given that I use MN mostly on my phone I am seriously hacked off and desperately looking for a different forum.

Even when I manage to get the page loaded, I can usually access 3-4 pages without issues, then it goes back to freezing. It is honestly driving me mad Sad

I find when I first load up mumsnet I get a blank screen under the talk header and it takes ages to load. It doesn’t happen on any other site.

Writing this post is taking a while as it delays when I type.

I still can’t access MN at all on my iPad but it works on my phone. On the phone the adverts still take ages to load but it doesn’t freeze, although sometimes it does reload. What is very noticeable is that the phone quickly becomes very hot.

This has actually fixed the issue for me, site doesn’t constantly crash and reload anymore. Plus my phones not getting so hot and the sites not draining my battery as quick either.

I know this is ages since OP, but it is happening to me too / on iPhone. I think linked to huge adverts?

I couldn't get on the Property section at all yesterday morning. It just went to a white screen and did nothing! The other boards I frequent all seemed ok though.

I did this after seeing it worked for others. While it worked for MN, it made the other tabs I had open freeze. Also tried to get into a few apps, all of which froze too

Coincidence maybe but I changed it back just in case

Really awful today. When the thread titles finally loaded I still couldn’t scroll up and down them, as the screen was frozen, until the monsoon ad finally loaded in the space on the right. Took about 2 mins.
I then couldn’t come and read if there were any updates for a similar amount of time before finally getting on this thread.

Morning, everyone. Good to see that the 'reject all' option in privacy settings has at least worked for some people.

We're still looking into this and will update when there's any news. In the meantime, if anyone has to time to do a quick call with our Tech team and share their screen with them, that would be really helpful. Just drop us a line here and we can contact you off the boards and get it set up.

I am so glad I found this. I’ve been having issues too and thought it was my iPad which I was considering changing because I thought it was getting too old. I’ve tried the privacy settings and no change for me.
