Constantly crashing and freezing.

This started about 3 weeks ago with constant crashing. Now it’s freezing too and taking ages to load,

I'm using Chrome and MN freezes and then any other tab open freezes too.

The site is rapidly becoming unusable
Crashes everything I have open in safari constantly

It’s still a nightmare and it’s been weeks now - I’m set at 25 posts a page (which I don’t like but trying to do everything I can to help), but it still crashes the WHOLE time, freezes all open tabs to any website and generally makes the site unusable. I’m clearly not the only one. What are you doing about it Mumsnet???!!!
Safari or Edge on an IPhone SE 2020 on IoS 17.7.

I thought it was my laptop to blame till I saw this thread. I use Edge, 25 posts per page, and it frequently freezes.
I have to restart the laptop to get it back to normal, till it happens again.

It all disappears if an adblocker's installed - which I didn't want to load because it really doesn't seem fair to affect the ad revenue, but what the hell are we supposed to do when the stuff that's allowed through starts trying to upload stuff to your system?

Hopefully when it's sorted it can be removed again ...

Yeah really annoying I've seen this for weeks, closing the browser and going back again frees it up for the time being.

MN has just completely crashed on my laptop- whole site is ‘File not found’

But I can get on to the mobile site on my phone.

It's doing it for me. I thought it was my new phone, but it seems not. Also, huge ads loading and crashing the page.

Argh! It's been bad for a while but MN is almost unusable tonight, it's constantly crashing. I'm using it for live commentary with IACGMOOH but it's really hard work. Just left a comment on the wrong message board as well 🙄

I’m just checking in to say I can only use Mumsnet on safari private browsing now, otherwise I’m the same as above. It’s really inconvenient as I have to log in every time, so I’m mostly browsing anon (with all the pop ups that entails). I did sign up for the test group but didn’t get picked.

Has been noticeable bad for the last week or so for me. The screen freezes, so trying to scroll is a real pain. Very frustrating.

I'm getting this quite often too. It's always Mumsnet that freezes. I'm on Chrome on an Android laptop.

I have resorted to using my phone but that is still freezing every few words!

This thread was started in July, and it had already been happening for ages before @ArseInTheCoOpWindow started it. It isn’t getting any better and I don’t have see all on for threads.

You can't screen record it, it crashes your whole browser, can't even switch tabs.

It's the ads. As soon as they loaf everything goes to shit. The one halfway down the page can't load at all and you can't see anything below it, its just a grey loading screen that you can't scroll past, it covers everything.

It’s just as bad as it was a while back. It’s really frustrating.

ipad with safari here, deleting cookies or whatever doesn’t make much difference.

edited to say, I totally agree it’s the advertising, it was the same last time too.

The fan on my laptop persistently blows on Mumsnet but nowhere else, the pages keep freezing.
I've never used an adblocker. My chap, who works in IT, thinks the problem is possibly a Javascript issue connected with the amount of ads on the site.
The only other place I have experienced similar is on the Daily Mail website (which I do not often visit btw), again a place with a lot of ads running.

Samsung phone android Chrome browser constantly freezing and I'm having to close the app and reload every few minutes it's terrible.

Yes this website is now shite with or without ad block on.

How can I send you a screenshot of a frozen screen? How will you be able to tell?
