Can you please pull the thread ? It's turning into Nicola bully all over again. Alot of people are being sincere but there are some absolutely awful comments and I am shocked it is still standing.
Some people are really getting kicks out of this horrible situation, this lad has a family.
Armchair detectives, trolls etc it really needs to go Mumsnet.

I think the spirit of MN has long been ditched.

people can have different interpretations of the meaning of the spirit, it would help if we had a more detailed rules and spirit of the site.

There’s multiple posts in recent months that would have got banned in the past due to ‘not being in the spirit of mumsnet’ which let’s be honest are actually plain bullying and hate speech. I don’t know if it’s reflective of society as a whole or if mumsnet is attracting less desirable types but it is disturbing.

I found the larking about changing user names really distasteful.

I imagine the culprits were banned?

I think the spirit of the site departed, weeping, when HQ allowed all those threads about the Princess of Wales to stand.

There were some obviously awful comments and it was mainly one poster deleted from what I saw.

But nothing I read there from posters you don't agree with is any different from what I've heard being discussed in streets etc.

Even this morning whilst in bathroom an older teen was telling a friend, mentioning the go find me and describing the situation as "dodgy as fuck".

I mostly commented on the thread about Tenerife its self as I lived there for many many years.

Thank you for getting it done, that thread was awful. MNHQ said (hours ago) that they were going to keep an eye on it but vile threads never improve.

You know what, I don't have an issue with people discussing this, people are going to want to talk about it, it's all over the news, I get that. But for fuck sake show some respect for the family. Some of the usernames were disgusting, some of the comments were unbelievably cruel. This is somebody's son, he's a kid who was involved with the wrong crowd by the looks of things, but that shouldn't mean people can wish him dead etc. We've all done stupid things when young, apparently not some of the more naive mumsnetters it seems but the majority of people have made mistakes. We shouldn't be judged forever by that. This lad is most likely dead. And some people think it's funny.
So by all means, discuss away, but I'll repeat, show some respect.

There’s no such thing as freedom of speech on a commercial website, which is what MN is. The users (us) are bound by MN’s T&Cs. Some people think they should be allowed to speculate as much as they want on missing people while others of us think it’s a bad precedent for MN to host it for reasons already stated in this thread.

looking at the video of him dancing topless in a club. He does look like he’s out of it. It is hugely likely that a few short hours later when he phoned his friend, he was feeling very unwell indeed. You don’t go from that state to fine in a couple of hours. As we also need to take into account the drive to the men’s house and what they did there ie drink or drugs. He potentially had no sleep at all and was still out of it when he phoned his friend.

as such this could be a tragic accident. If he was on drugs and drunk, roaming in that terrain, dehyrdrated, no sleep. He could have wandered off in a confused state and passed out somewhere.

sadly I would be surprised if he is still with us after 7 days, you can’t survive that heat with no water for so long.
