Flashing adverts on website

If I'm accessing MN on my laptop, I'm increasingly annoyed by flashing adverts on the right hand side, below the list of active threads. Sometimes I can only read threads if I balance a book against the screen so that I don't have to see them.

Please can something be done about this? I'm happy to see adverts - I know they're needed to raise funds - but if I don't block the adverts with a book I feel as though I'm going to be ill. And of course anyone with epilepsy wouldn't be able to use the site, which isn't inclusive, is it?

I have tried using the ad blocker but it stops me seeing anyone's comments.

Hi there @OhComeOnFFS . We'll look into this now. Can you tell us any more about the ads, such as which companies they were for? If you could send us the url links for any of them, or the url for the page you were on when they appeared, that would also be helpful in tracking them down. Finally, could you tell us if you're on the main site or the app, and what sort of device (and browser if relevant) you are using? Thank you!

Hi, I'm on the main site using Microsoft Edge if that's any use!

I've made a note of the adverts:

Bentley advert - sorry, I didn't note the URL for this.

Sanctuary Spa advert on Potential relationship - or not? | Mumsnet

Roman (clothing) on To stop friends turning up yo a party they aren't invited to? | Mumsnet

Odeon advert on My partner of 23 yrs has been meeting one of the mums in the playground for 15 yrs | Mumsnet

Thanks.

Hi OP

If it happens again, please could you get a screenshot of it and also, click the advert to copy the URL and paste it to us? This way, we can find them really quickly.

Last thing OP, can you get a screenshot when one appears? Of it actually appearing on a thread?
