why have we got something so mean and nasty on the top of the page today? Why would you be ridiculing someone like that? So unnecessary and unpleasant. Poor guy didnt ask to be put in this position

You KNOW that MNHQ is going to remove them because, so why carry on?

I wonder why they put them on there in the first place but, there you go.

Well an apology and an explanation would be nice too.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe · 06/05/2023 10:25

Why the fuck do you need an apology? And what do you think it would be worth?

MNHQ decided to do this. Would a 'sorry not sorry' work for you?

HadalyEve · 06/05/2023 10:26

It’s gone! Hooray for that.

USUALLY if you make a joke in poor taste on a public platform, it’s good manners to say you misjudged it and apologise. Why so aggressive? Of course I don’t need an apology. I think it would be professional of MN to give one.

It's more Viz than Mumsnet.
Totally inappropriate.

Agree. Really disappointed.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe · 06/05/2023 10:44

Skinnermarink, sorry, that slipped in and made it sound more aggressive than it was.

I still don't see the value in a forced apology, never have. It's not good manners to give one, or demand it in the first place.

Still, MNHQ has capitulated so, result.

MN is obviously anti-royal and the logo choice is deliberate. This was already apparent in the fact that many RF critical threads in the forums were left to stay. The influence of such a forum can't be underestimated, and it's rumoured that H&M's lawyers kept a close eye on topics back when they were still in the UK. Since they moved to the US, the moderation has been much relaxed, to the point of being suspect. Anyone else remember how the first Prince of Pegging thread was quickly deleted (as expected) but 3 full ensuing threads were left to stand? There was clearly a directive from managed to leave the conversation public.

This.

The Prince of Pegging thread was vile. Reported by lots of posters, but still left to stand. If it had been about anyone who wasn’t a member of the royal family it would have been deleted within a couple of hours.
