why have we got something so mean and nasty on the top of the page today? Why would you be ridiculing someone like that? So unnecessary and unpleasant. Poor guy didnt ask to be put in this position

They've just changed the m into king Charles, who's known for his big ears. I thought it was amusing.

Fucking grow up then!

Is it ok to laugh at people, bully-style now??

I am about as far from royalist as it gets and I agree. It's really not on. Mean and nasty jibe. Not cool mnhq.

same

Ollifer · 06/05/2023 08:53

It's pretty hypocritical of Mumsnet to do that when I've had posts deleted that weren't bullying or insulting

Making fun of someone's appearance that they can't change is bullying and it shouldn't be promoted on a site as big as this - I don't care who it is (don't give a shiny shite about the royals)

Get rid, mnhq. It's just so mean.

MayBeeJuneSoon · 06/05/2023 08:54

MNHQ aren't listening....

SwordToFlamethrower · 06/05/2023 08:55

I'm sure multi millionaire King of England and head of the church of England, with all his butlers and chefs and yachts and holidays and wants for nothing and parties, gives no shits about a pair of cartoon ears on the mumsnet logo.

No need to be offended on behalf of the most pampered man on the planet.

Boring.

Polik · 06/05/2023 08:56

Mean spirited

Just put the crown emoji up Crown

vinoandbrie · 06/05/2023 09:00

It’s awful. How unpleasant.

Rollerbird · 06/05/2023 09:02

Nasty. Take it down please

Ilikewinter · 06/05/2023 09:03

I agree, had to double check the photo because I thought heres no way its a photo of ears.
Im also not a royalist but thats so hypocrytical of MNHQ . Do they support ridicule of people who use mumsnet aswell?

coretext · 06/05/2023 09:05

I'm no royalist but I was completely shocked to see this.
How awful. How unprofessional for a trusted British company with a large following to think this is in anyway appropriate.

Bringonthesunforthewashing · 06/05/2023 09:05

Yep, it’s really awful.

I am not particularly bothered about the royals at all, but this is cruel.

If my kids did that they would be in trouble for being so horrible

User565394 · 06/05/2023 09:06

Agree. It's mean. Please take it down

Used to be British!

I remember when Justine and Carrie would post on threads and even make their own

God knows who they have working for them now!

HadalyEve · 06/05/2023 09:07

I agree, take off the ears. The man is in his seventies FFS, it’s horrible to keep on bullying him for what he was bullied for as a schoolboy.

AnneLovesGilbert · 06/05/2023 09:08

It’s horrible.

Littleoxforddictionary · 06/05/2023 09:08

It's not funny or clever. Very ugly and a bit mean.

Sleepingbeauty2510 · 06/05/2023 09:09

Who designed it? A five year old? That's the only explanation because surely a professional educated adult would not think this was ok.

daisymoonlight · 06/05/2023 09:10

Yep. I dont like the Royals and even I think its out of order. Anyone on this site who was trying to insult someone else based on making fun of their physical appearance would be reported and their comment removed so how on earth is this ok?

Talk about hypocritical. Geez.

Ifailed · 06/05/2023 09:11

Given the old adage "there's no such thing as bad publicity", I'm pretty sure this'll be picked up by the tabloids.

Therealjudgejudy · 06/05/2023 09:12

I'm in no way a royalist but it's totally juvenile and bullying to mock someone's physical appearance.

Take it down

Are you incapable of understanding how the act of mocking one person's physical appearance impacts others with similar physicality? And by supporting the use in one instance you inevitably contribute to the acceptance of doing it to others in different instances?

Songlines · 06/05/2023 09:14

Bullying, pure and simple.
Shame on you

AnneKipankitoo · 06/05/2023 09:15

It’s crass.
