No sex board on active. Please comment if you agree.

I really wish the sex board wasn’t on active. It changes the whole tone of the Mumsnet board when you click on Active. And not in a good way.

I agree- I know you can hide it, but I haven't worked out how on the app.

Anyone who wants to talk about sex will still be able to find it easily enough.

I rarely see it In active anyway. So I disagree. Thankfully I'm an adult who can scroll past content that doesn't take my fancy

Look I think it’s really obvious there’s an advertising contract being played out here and so MN isn’t going to remove the Sex topic from Active Threads. At least until their contractual agreement ends. Best thing to do is just hide the section.

I actually think a sex topic, on a chat board primarily aimed at women and used by women is a great idea for a useful resource for questions about all things sex; before kids, after kids, peri and post menopausal etc as well as just wanting other women's frank and open opinions on general filth.

I've looked at the current Sex board- it's not that. It seems to be a hang out for men, mainly.

I don’t want to see it. If I did, I’d choose to click on the section. MN said they didn’t want to hide topics from Active, but weirdly this doesn’t extend to the SEN topic, or abortion topic, or miscarriage, bereavement or OTBT.

I Agree, but I'd also like all sex related adverts to be off the main page too. Lost track of the amount of times I saw that new toy advert, and now there's another one about your sex life after children. Keep those adverts to the sex board and keep the sex board tucked away where it belongs.

Also weirdly, they did exclude it from active for many years. And that was after refusing even having a sex topic at all for years because they said it would attract trolls/the wrong sort.

Make it make sense.

And make it go away.

Agree....and yes HQ I know "you can hide the topic, you know", but it's not that simple, it feels like a general push to sexualise the site and make it more of a place that looks like it's being run by men who think "this is what we want women to be interested in", eg promoting vibrators to women who have just given birth.

Do you think women don’t post on the sex topic or something? It’s not all men, men, men over there
