I really wish the sex board wasn’t on active. It changes the whole tone of the Mumsnet board when you click on Active. And not in a good way.
If you agree please reply to this post.

I agree but sex on the board has me envisioning a version of snakes and ladders with willies and boobs - where will one land on a throw of the dice?

LookItsMeAgain · 23/02/2023 16:39

Agree that Active shouldn't include the Sex topic or posts made under the Sex topic

Don't give them ideas 😬

I agree

If I had a question about sex after having children the sex board is the last place I'd go to ask. Grubby.

I agree
OK a regular user can choose to hide the topic but what about casual or occasional users?
I sometimes suggest to service users that the check out Mumsnet, I don't want to risk them seeing a reference to rimming on their first visit when they wanted advice on choosing a buggy

DidyouNO · 23/02/2023 16:54

I agree. But we seem to just be getting a 'cut and paste' response from MN, which as far as I can see, hasn't addressed all the points made Hmm

Hi all

Just popping in to say we posted an update on this thread regarding the wider discussion around the sex topic.

Please do have a read - we will continue taking your feedback on board in the meantime.

This is nasty.

The board is just men. The perv vibe is obvious to anyone coming to a women's forum exactly to get away from this kind of crap.

Mumsnet is here partially to avoid bords like this altogether.

Let me guess, men decided this bord was needed and men decided it shouldn't be hidden by default?

I don't want to have to learn to hide bords to use a site for women and not have sleazy men's jerk off material come up. Which mum on the Mumsnet team came up with that I wonder? Oh yeah obviously they didn't. A man came up with it. Men are obviously reviewing the decision, hence it's still there.

This board is evidence that you need more women with more power calling more of the shots at Mumsnet.

I completely agree! I don’t want to see sex threads popping up when I’m browsing the active board. I don’t want to see the sex toy ads either.
