And if not, it looks as though I've hidden it. Can anyone tell me how to unhide it?

Hi all

This should be fixed now!
Thanks so much for bearing with us.

I think MN threads on 'My insensitive SIL has deliberately arranged her wedding just 3 weeks after I give birth AIBU?' would have had some interesting replies about what if you go overdue and whether you got on.

I doubt it's in keeping with Debretts. Not do I think announcing your pregnancy at a close family wedding. That alone from the more practical and emotional side of things would have ruffled the stade feathers of some of the family.

And yes, the pressure to look good at the wedding / if there was underlying tension and jealousy (which we know to be true with the Notts Cottage 'unfairness') between Meghan and Kate would be hard to just write off if that was the case ('she's done it deliberately because she's insecure and doesn't want to be upstaged by me' narrative).

Certainly it's hard to argue it was considerate of Kate or Eugenie from what is in the public eye but we don't know what the conversations were - not what influence the Queen might have had (as technically I believe she's the one who would set the date - to ensure it fitted in her diary and because if you are in line to throne you have to ask permission from the Monarch to marry - not the Bride and Groom but I could be wrong on that).

Aaah. Thanks.

If my BIL treated me in the way Harry is acting I don't think I could ever be in the same room as him again

Really…..wasn’t it MM bringing it up on the OW interview - 3 years after the event?

And then PH wrote about it in his book?

And then PH discusses in in interviews?

And HE wasn’t even there…..

No the Palace leaked first. They said Meghan made Kate cry because Kate wanted Charlotte to wear tights.

BringBackCoffeeCreams · 09/01/2023 20:47

Where was Kate at the time of the text message? Because it seems to me that Meghan was telling her to go to Kensington Palace to get it altered. Does that mean she was at home in Norfolk at the time? So Meghan was wanting a woman with a newborn to drive all the way from Norfolk to central London at short notice to get a kid's dress altered?

Charlotte's dress was a mess though. Too big on the shoulders and a ridiculously wonky hem - and that's after it's had whatever adjustments were possible in the time left. There's only so much you can do with taking in seams - it gets to a point where a dress needs to be taken apart and re-made.

No the Palace leaked that Meghan made Kate cry over tights for Charlotte with the bridesmaid dress. Harry and Meghan responded at the Oprah interview and said Kate made Meghan cry.

FFS some of you really are pretty nuts and vile about total strangers.

This isn’t sounding entirely complimentary either about the posters who I assume are total strangers to you.

As someone who sews, I can't understand how these dresses never fit in the first place. They're no-expense-spared dresses made especially for the occasion, they should be near perfect first go.

You would have thought that the bridesmaids would have had toiles made for a fitting at the very least.

But it is 100% easier to just remake sometimes, speaking from bitter experience. If your balance is off - which the hems suggest it was - you can't just take it in a bit. The hem won't just be longer at the back, there's a good chance it'll be tipping back and making the wearer uncomfortable. Three year olds are usually the first to complain if there's something rubbing somewhere. Can you imagine the shot show if Charlotte had chucked one half way through the ceremony?
