Screen freezing whenever scrolling reaches an advert.

Anyone else having this problem?
On mobile.
I scroll down and once an advert is reached my phone stops responding. I can't scroll past the advert for several seconds. I thought it might be my phone playing silly buggers so I tried my other phone and the same thing is happening.

Me too. Sometimes I have to then close the app (Google browser not the MN app) before it will work again.

Yes. Chrome browser on a Huawei phone.

Yes. It's part and parcel of the ongoing advert weirdness.

I hope they can work out what is causing it.

Yes I've had the same problem for a few weeks. Very irritating. Seems to be the QVC advert mostly

Its been happening for ages. There are loads of threads on it, but MNHQ don't seem arsed 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yes, has been going on for ages. Browsing on Chrome via a Motorola. Sometimes I have to walk away and do something else for 5 minutes til it untangles itself (yes, I know, First World Problem).

They want us all to take Premium membership, that stops ad pop ups i think?

Yep - there is a definite delay before I can scroll past. Tbh I thought it was intentional so that you're made to linger on the ad!

Well bugger that. Even if it looks interesting I absolutely refuse to click on it out of sheer bloodymindedness! 😁

Yes I've just come here to see if there was a thread about it. Same here for the last few days using the iOS app. Have to force close and reopen app. Doesn't seem to be any thread or advert in particular causing it.

Just posting on this thread as I’ve been struggling for weeks with these issues on my phone. Is mumsnet going to do anything? I’ve never known anything like it.

Same here, screen keeps freezing and none of the links work for a few minutes then the page seems to reload. Chrome on android.

Hi @IncompleteSenten and everyone else who's experiencing this problem. We're so sorry for all the inconvenience this is causing and we're trying to resolve this issue as soon as we can.

In the meantime, as ever, can we please ask you to provide us with as many details as you can - we need to know the device, browser and version of the site you're using. If there are any particular adverts which appear to be causing this issue, please let us know. Screenshots are a big help, if you can grab one, plus the URL of the page you're on when the issue crops up.

We've already blocked a number of ads which seemed to be causing problems, but the more information we have, the sooner we can get this issue fixed.

I have this problem as well. I access Mumsnet on my iPad via Safari.

I'm on the mobile site on Chrome/Samsung.

Hi @Femwitch thanks for reporting this. Please can you tell us which ad it was, and if possible provide a screenshot and URL? Hopefully we can get to the bottom of this for you.

I'm having the issue on a Samsung, using the mobile site on chrome. Its not any particular ad, it seems rather random.

After 2 weeks of the freezing being more or less continuous, it hasn't been happening today - fabulous!!

It's the same for me on all browsers - Silk, Opera and Chrome, on phone and tablet.

It's on all adverts as far as I can see - seems to be the fact that the ad bar is animated and not loading fast enough.

I’ve reported this before. It makes the site unusable.

For me it’s the “grow your own herbs” ad.

This has been happening for me for a few weeks now and is driving me crazy. I've stopped using the site as often because of it. I'm on a Samsung using Chrome.
