Mumsnet Premium issue

I signed up to Premium pretty much straight away, and it was all fine, but I've just noticed I am getting ads again, including ones suggesting I sign up to Premium Hmm any idea why this is happening? I know the payment went out a couple of days ago so my subscription should still be live.

Same with me so I have cancelled my subscription unfortunately. I was happy to help support but, after this, wasn’t satisfied with the premium service on offer.

UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername · 14/05/2020 06:48

I'm having the same issue.

CodenameVillanelle · 14/05/2020 06:48

I cancelled my subscription as I was only ever planning to have it for the lockdown period and despite having it until 8/6 I immediately started getting ads again. The lack of ads was the only benefit I accessed from premium. Can you sort this out please? It's pretty crap to take money and fail to do the thing that people have paid for.

PrimeraVez · 14/05/2020 06:52

Oh wow. That's a real fuck up. I was considering paying for Premium but definitely wont be now. Considering the size of the MN wage bill, how can they have such poor tech know-how?!?

GrimmsFairytales · 14/05/2020 06:53

I'm sure it was always advertised as less ads, not no ads.

Very frustrating, but i'm doubtful they will do anything about it.

SorrelForbes · 14/05/2020 07:05

Yep ads appearing again as of yesterday!

CodenameVillanelle · 14/05/2020 07:05

Fewer ads was fine, but immediately getting lots more ads is not

homemadecommunistrussia · 14/05/2020 07:32

Me too. I have checked and a payment was taken on the 10th. Bit miffed tbh.Hmm

DebbieFiderer · 14/05/2020 07:37

Less ads, sure, but an ad asking me to sign up for Premium when I am already a member suggests something is wrong.

I'm amazed to see technical problems with the premium service. Everything else is usually so smooth and bug free.

tribpot · 14/05/2020 08:09

Yep, I'm seeing ads as well now. Turning my ad blocker back on and perhaps will donate my money to that next time!

homemadecommunistrussia · 14/05/2020 08:15

I clicked on the premium ad and it took me to my account page showing I was already signed up. The system clearly knows who I am and that I paid...

SeriouslyRetro · 14/05/2020 08:19

Not surprised, just disappointed.

Etc etc.

Tartyflette · 14/05/2020 08:21

Yep, me too. And the system clearly shows i am signed up to premium,

TinySleepThief · 14/05/2020 08:22

That honestly doesn't suprise me, norhing works for long on this site without issues.

I'm sure MN will be along shortly and say their techs will look into it. (Although sometimes I do wonder if this is code for they will go and have a cup of coffee and a chocolate biscuit and hope you forget about it).

DrDreReturns · 14/05/2020 08:35

Is that sarcasm Grin

On a serious note I wonder if they employ testers or use a bug tracking database to maintain the quality of the site.

Cherrypi · 14/05/2020 08:38

I'm disappointed to get ads back too.

DappledThings · 14/05/2020 08:42

Me too. I've started getting ads in the middle of threads again again and it is irritating to see the one for Premium when I am already signed up.

SeriouslyRetro · 14/05/2020 09:28

Indeed Tiny We all know the drill, someone might (or might not) turn up from mumsnet and act all faux concerned and say they’ll get tech to look into it right away.

I’m not sure what looking into it actually entails for the mumsnet tech team, but lots of things seem to get looked at and not a lot else.

JoMumsnet · 14/05/2020 09:34

Thank you to all who have emailed and posted to let us know. We're really sorry for this temporary glitch.

We've investigated and it looks like the problem is with our hosting provider - we're working with them to get a fix in place as a matter of urgency.

Thanks for bearing with us and we'll let you know as soon as the issue is resolved. Flowers

Pretty sure we are the bug testers. I understand they have a comprehensive database detailing every bug reported. I believe they are currently working on fixing those logged up to and including the 12th of January 2000.

Pinkyyy · 14/05/2020 09:44

That's awful. It's already very poor value for money, now you're not even getting the small thing they promised? Disgraceful.

donquixotedelamancha · 14/05/2020 09:46

Thanks for bearing with us and we'll let you know as soon as the issue is resolved.

I've been on here barely a decade, so haven't really had chance, but have any of the old timers ever had an issue resolved?

BoreOfWhabylon · 14/05/2020 10:46

Well, looks like it's been fixed now.

LockedInMadness · 14/05/2020 12:30

Probably in time for mners next yearly payment 🤣l
