Hello, I’m about to see if it’s a problem at my end, but wondering if anyone is getting a pop up from “ searchoeper” offering a free gift (too busy fighting it from redirecting me to read the details). Obviously not legit though, so beware.

Also been getting this ad popping up, in fact it last did it 2 minutes ago, on my Samsung s8 (using chrome) when I wasn't even touching the phone screen so no chance that I have misclicked.

It's been happening for the last 2 or 3 days

Bambinho · 26/01/2019 03:36

Have also had this on iPhone 6s quite a few times since yesterday evening. At first I thought I must have accidentally touched something but I now know i definitely haven't.

Screenshots - the 'Congratulations' box comes up first, when you click on 'close' the next page comes up and won't allow you to go back to the MN page you were on.

I’m getting this too on my iPhone.

CaffeineBomb · 26/01/2019 08:09

Also getting this on my samsung. Only on mn and has been happening since yesterday

impostersyndrome · 26/01/2019 08:11

Same again this morning on my iPad. The only way out is to press the back key. Not sure if this is malware. Hoping mumsnet hq will see this and say.

Just wanted to add I’ve been getting this too on my iPhone for the last few days.

sallysparkle · 26/01/2019 09:33

Yes I'm getting this too, when I've clicked through from Mumsnet email. No way to get out of it.

Notmorewashing · 26/01/2019 10:26

I’ve been getting this for the past 2 days stopping me from logging in

PrincessPeachy1 · 26/01/2019 11:47

Been getting this too, just started a thread sorry didn’t see this one! Very annoying!

impostersyndrome · 26/01/2019 12:30

I wonder if we should alert mumsnet HQ. I think I’ll report my post. Though could just be malware they’d generally around, if that’s the term.

yearinyearout · 26/01/2019 12:33

Me too, bloody annoying. It’s only happening on MN tho.

impostersyndrome · 26/01/2019 12:36

In the meantime I wouldn't click to close. Use back button or close browser.

Off to investigate how to clean my iPad.

Hello everyone - thanks for letting us know and we're really sorry about the pop-ups - we're looking into this now.

impostersyndrome · 26/01/2019 12:58

Thanks. I’m just updating the software on my iPad and iPhone as it can’t do any harm. Very wary of random device cleaning companies..

Hi Everyone,

Just letting you know we are aware of the issue and have reached out to all our partners, will keep you updated on the issue but for now if you do see this popup just close it down by clicking on the X.

Thanks

impostersyndrome · 26/01/2019 15:46

“Reached out”!

Clicking on the x is not a good idea, as it opens the ad. Best to click on the back key.

Grr, I’m getting this constantly too. Safari/iPhone

yearinyearout · 27/01/2019 08:06

Still happening this morning...

dancingthroughthedark · 27/01/2019 08:11

I am getting this too on my iphone

Melfish · 27/01/2019 08:19

Getting this on iphone only and only on mumsnet (website, don’t have app). completely agree with impostersyndrome on both counts!

thegingeningeclansmum · 27/01/2019 17:25

I've just had the pop up for the fifth time. It happens when accessing Mumsnet from the daily email stories. I have to close the page down completely to get rid of it.

LongDivision · 27/01/2019 17:59

Have this too on my ipad (in safari) . Similar to one a few months back, only way to get out of it is by closing the tab.

Weathergirl1 · 27/01/2019 19:03

Android phone using Chrome (in incognito) browser. I can get rid of the pop ups by pressing the back button about twice. As others have said, it's been going on a couple of days.

Postino · 27/01/2019 19:24

I'm getting the same thing, iphone 6x using Chrome. Thanks for investigating MNHQ

Postino · 27/01/2019 19:25

iphone 6s I mean. It's only affecting MN
