Hello, I’m about to see if it’s a problem at my end, but wondering if anyone is getting a pop up from “ searchoeper” offering a free gift (too busy fighting it from redirecting me to read the details). Obviously not legit though, so beware.

@Anyamumsnet, there often isn't a blue triangle on the ad, but if there is it asks you why you want to close it and gives you options (such as ad covering content, ad no appropriate etc) and then the ad "closes" but leaves a blank square covering the screen!

JLbaby · 09/02/2019 07:17

See attached pic as an example of one ad that can be closed and then still covers content and then another ad below that can’t be closed.

I’ve closed the ad with the close tab option but it keeps coming on again when I’m trying to read threads. Its getting really tiring now. Have tried restarting iphone. No joy.

I’m getting this one this morning. Get an initial pop up, select close then this opens. Twice already and I’ve only been mumsnetting for a few minutes. Yesterday it was an ‘O2 user’ pop up.

iPhone in safari.

I’m getting one for BT 3 times in 15 mins. When you click close it takes you to the ad page anyway. Back bar doesn’t work. Have to close the page completely.

And my keyboard is jumping and delayed when I type. Using iPad. NOT happening with any other site.

Am reporting my post so MN are aware of these problems.

1fluffydoodle · 23/03/2019 08:59

Can’t use this site today without this happening on my iPad BT ad appears constantly and won’t close..... please help

superram · 23/03/2019 09:02

I haven’t been able to post for about 20 hours as a virgin as comes up. Have to close the page. Annoying!

Junkmail · 23/03/2019 09:04

Having the same issue with the BT ad yesterday and today. Makes the site almost unusable as it’s constant.

AbriaFern · 23/03/2019 09:07

Same as above, virgin ad came up. This happened when I clicked a link to a daily mail article (the one about Barbara Streisand defending MJ) and a new page opened up with the daily mail, then the advert too over and I couldn’t close it.

Morning everyone. Thanks for your patience with this. Tech are working hard on this right now. As soon as there's any update we'll let you know.

HebeMumsnet · 23/03/2019 11:00

While we're here, just a reminder to take care when posting screenshots that they don't include any identifying info such as IP address. If you've posted details like that accidentally, just hit the report button and we can delete it for you.

Bananasandchocolatecustard · 23/03/2019 11:13

I keep getting pop ups from Virgin every time I try to read a thread.

larrygrylls · 23/03/2019 11:35

I keep getting an o2 pop up, have to close window and log in again.

And as for ‘reaching out to your ‘partners’’, how about blocking their ads until they sort the issue out?!

Girlwhowearsglasses · 23/03/2019 13:07

oops, missed that

HebeMumsnet · 26/03/2019 14:40

Afternoon, everyone. We're hopeful this issue is resolved now. There are a lot of these threads still floating around from the weekend so do pop over to this thread where AnyaMumsnet has posted with a bit more information. We're going to leave that thread running in case there are any more questions but close the others to new posts now just to keep everything in one place.

Thanks again for your patience while we sorted this out.
