Black areas on mobile

Anyone else get this? If I'm browsing the site on my phone if I've come back to my browser from using another app the thread will be all fuzzy and have random black blocks all through it before I refresh.

Simple fix but still annoying. :s

Hi there OP,

We're sorry to hear you're having this issue. Can we ask, are you accessing Mumsnet on the mobile site or the app? And what device are you using?

It'd be great if you could upload a screenshot of what's going on to this thread - it'll help our tech team get to the bottom of it.

AGHHHH · 09/10/2018 21:48

Hello,

It's on my web browser on a Samsung Galaxy S7.

I'm getting this too - thought it was my phone. It's been like it for a week or so.

Between the black blocks the thread randomly repeats itself.

I'm using chrome on my Sony Xperia.

AnyaMumsnet · 10/10/2018 12:05

Hi again,

Thanks for letting us know, we're flagging this to tech now.

DrinkReprehensibly · 10/10/2018 16:01

I've been getting this for 3 weeks at least. You get the black bit and then the posts start repeating and you have to refresh the whole thread. I think it's something to do with the code for advertisements not working properly.

I'm on Android Samsung S9+ in Chrome.

ProfessorMoody · 10/10/2018 17:25

Yip me too. Refresh and they go.

BuffysFavouriteStake · 10/10/2018 20:24

Same here, been a few weeks now. Android and Chrome here.

Topseyt · 10/10/2018 20:29

Me too. Android phone - Vodafone N9.

Thought it was just me, but glad to see I am not alone.

AGHHHH · 12/10/2018 14:08

The problem has worsened today and it's ruined several posts because it happens even after I've refreshed and causes me to lose a wall of text!

Really, really irritating.

Still happening here too.

PickAChew · 12/10/2018 14:35

I think it's ads doing it. I've had the same problem on some other sites.

UnalliterativeGeorge · 12/10/2018 22:08

Here too. It's really annoying

DrMumMum · 13/10/2018 07:26

Me too, just came on to start a thread with screen shots but I see someone has beaten me to it. It's happening every minute or so now. So annoying Angry

YoureOnOurTerfNow · 13/10/2018 07:34

Yep. Thought it was my phone but only happens in MN.

Really annoying.

BuffysFavouriteStake · 13/10/2018 11:06

Much worse today, it's on almost every thread, and it's driving me crazy! Please, please fix this asap

Thurlow · 14/10/2018 07:38

Chrome on Android. It's been happening for a few weeks now but some days it's very bad. It's not every thread, just some, as of its loading weird. It starts looking OK then suddenly half way through you start getting black bars and posts half loading. Imo it relates to the video advert at the top of the screen

It's been really bad this morning. Maybe look at which adverts are running today that are causing it? Is there any update?

LemonRedwood · 14/10/2018 10:23

I get this too. Chrome on Samsung Galaxy S9. Thought it was the ads. Black space then thread starts repeating itself. Haven't had it yet today but has been going on all week, including yesterday.

BumbleBored · 14/10/2018 10:26

Chrome on android. S7

Been bad this morning

BuffysFavouriteStake · 14/10/2018 12:08

Could be a coincidence, but seems to be linked with the m&s advert for me.

PickAChew · 14/10/2018 17:15

No idea what the ad was, but this is the ad appearing as the black box, then a black area at the bottom of the page which, if you scroll past, has part of the thread repeated below. Of course, as is the way with mn images, they'll not appear in the correct order in my post.

As I mentioned above, ads have done this on some other sites, too.

Hi there everyone,

Sorry to hear this has got worse - we've given tech a nudge and we hope to have it sorted soon.

13Crows · 17/10/2018 13:36

I'm not the only one getting this then! I'm on Samsung galaxy s8+

Topseyt · 17/10/2018 14:31

Still happening here too. Maybe getting worse.

TheHuffAndPuffALot · 17/10/2018 20:22

This has happened to me too; great big black holes and text partially repeating.

I'm accessing via Chrome on a Samsung S7
