This is so annoying I may have to find something else to do and turn the internet off.

I don't use the site via laptop as the adverts are too intrusive, now it looks like coming here on my phone is due to end too.

Posting to find out what MN say about it and whether it will be temporary or permanent. It's horrible and actually is intrusive enough for me to want to stop reading on my phone, which would probably be good for my productivity but not good for page hits!!!
P.s. If it's a precursor to offering a paid for site without the adverts then I can tell you I won't pay!

Agree they're really annoying, make it so much harder to read on a mobile.

What would you all prefer - annoying ads or to pay to be a member of Mumsnet? And they work because I have just done a lucky dip for tonight and if I win I will be bloody glad there was an ad on Mumsnet!

I had it top and side simultaneously - it didn't leave much screen visible!

It's not as binary as that though Pippa.
I don't mind banner ads, or the ones at the bottom of the page. I understand that MN needs them to keep running.
It's the side ads on the mobile site that make it unusable.

I don't think they do make it unusable, just not as we, as users, would wish it to be. And they work for the advertisers which Mumsnet HQ needs in order to stay afloat.

Just came to find a thread on this, it's hideous and makes the site on mobile completely frustrating as it narrows the screen so much. Adblocker has to go back on obviously!
