Any progress with the "freezing" problem?

I know there's a long thread about longstanding site issues where the freezing has been mentioned, but ironically I can't see it because it's frozen. Is tech any closer to a solution because it's beyond annoying. Thanks.

So happy to find out this isn't just me!!

InfinityPlusOne · 04/03/2017 08:58

Happened a few times this morning but is ok at the moment (iPhone)

Soubriquet · 04/03/2017 09:38

I've been having problems for a week or two now

The page freezes and refuses to reload

Or it takes forever to load but then freezes straight after

iPhone 5. Mobile site. Safari. Normal page view

Pinkheart5915 · 04/03/2017 09:40

No change for me today

App works fine, but I don't like the app.

IPad loads the Mumsnet page now but then just freezes and you can do nothing with it

JennyHolzersGhost · 04/03/2017 09:45

Just had to open this thread in three separate windows before getting it to load, because it kept crashing. It's ridiculous.

NoelHeadbands · 04/03/2017 09:55

Bloody awful this morning

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 04/03/2017 10:53

The site is unuseable at time and is now affecting my safari so to be honest i will be staying away
This has been going on in some way shape or form for months
Not sure if hq want it sorted to be honest
They want adds at all costs
Fair play you've got to make money
But if it renders the site unuseable you wont make much money

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 04/03/2017 10:54

Or my other conspiracy theory is they want us on the app as (correct me if im wrong) you cant block adds on the app

Tangofandango · 04/03/2017 11:08

Still freezing on iPad safari

MissTakesOurMaid · 04/03/2017 11:08

Happened to me this morning briefly but nowhere near as bad as before - iPad, Safari, latest iOS. That was at 9am and I've had nothing since. Was happening at about 9pm until 11pm last night on my MacBook, took me five tabs to load it - seems to be a Safari issue, maybe?

BringMeTea · 04/03/2017 11:44

I posted on the ipad thread about this. Site is pretty much unuseable now as pp have said. Sad.

nottinghamgal · 04/03/2017 12:08

Ad blocker has helped me a lot with this issue

insertsomethingwitty · 04/03/2017 12:23

Can't view the site at all on the mobile version on my iPhone it just freezes. Works fine on my laptop.

RVPisnomore · 04/03/2017 14:44

This is beyond ridiculous and has been going on for too long.

We keep being told it's being fixed but clearly it hasn't and tech obviously have no idea what is wrong. Surely there are performance stats and tests that are run before updates are launched and monitoring when they are launched. If that is the case why can't you just go back to an older version of the code that isn't playing up? Then your tech team can work on testing the code changes since then and ensure it's properly tested before it's implemented.

SoupDragon · 04/03/2017 14:52

I imagine that part of the problem is that it is not happening for everyone.

Mine has been absolutely fine since yesterday. It was fine before I installed an ad blocker and has remained fine. Others using iPad, safari plus ad blocker have not been so lucky though!

CaptainHammer · 04/03/2017 15:00

It's really annoying. Only just managed to load this up to say it's happening to me too.

SealSong · 04/03/2017 15:07

it was still bad last night and today on my ipad - safari, desktop. Pages half loading, not clickable etc.
Getting really annoying now.

I have never come across a site that has SO MANY continual problems caused by the advertising - every issue with the site always seems to come down to problems caused by the advertising. Why is this such an issue for this site MNHQ?

GeorgeTheHamster · 04/03/2017 15:14

Still won't load using safari on iPad. I'm posting this on safari on iPhone. Make of that what you will.

forceslover · 04/03/2017 15:16

Still bad hurry up and fix it!

ClashCityRocker · 04/03/2017 15:30

Really bad this afo, but was fine this morning.

ChestnutsRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 04/03/2017 15:59

Mine has been freezing and not loading beyond a couple of posts. The problem is something recent with your adverts. I've just installed ad blocker and it has resolved things.

youarenotkiddingme · 04/03/2017 16:06

Is this freezing when you tap on something to read (iPad) and nothing happens?
Because I assumed my iPad was being a pita but it would seem it's a site issue?
(Makes sense as other websites load fine!)

Isitjustmeorisiteveryoneelse · 04/03/2017 16:18

Well it's just taken me seven attempts to get this page fully loaded so I can comment! So, no, it's not fixed. iPad, safari and iPhone 6 both have same problems. If it's the ads then hope the advertisers are reading this thread so they know how many of us aren't going to bother with this site for a while. That's not going to make them money is it?

purplemunkey · 04/03/2017 16:23

Mine has stopped freezing but is now jumping to the bottom of every page on load - so every time I open a page I have to scroll to the top again. For such a basic site these usability issues are extremely frustrating and I have given up on several browsing sessions recently.

trinity0097 · 04/03/2017 16:37

Awful for me, I install Adblock and restarted my iPad, that helped for a bit (or was a fluke?) now it's bad.

Frustrating
