Would it be an idea to have a like/dislike button on posts? It would save SO much hot air and posting and reposting from people.

Also, is it possible please to link to other posters when you post? As an "@" button?

OP posts:
SilverBirchWithout · 11/04/2016 23:13

Nay.

LittleBearPad · 11/04/2016 23:17

There really aren't mixed views on this. The posts above very much fall on the 'nay' side.

What's the point of a chat site if all people do is press like. How little effort do some people want to make.

Sparklingbrook · 11/04/2016 23:17

Nay

Sparklingbrook · 11/04/2016 23:17

Yes I don't think it's that mixed really.

DramaAlpaca · 11/04/2016 23:18

Nay

MrsVamos · 11/04/2016 23:20

EmmanuelleMumsnet.

No. No. No. No. No.

Thank you.

If you are seriously even considering a 'like' button, you might as well shut the site down and tell everyone that Mumsnet can be accessed via Facebook or Twitter.

I like that there is no like button.

Please don't be sheeps and change it. Please.

You're probably all right, I would be a serial liker and never post again if that button existed here. So Nay it is.

DonkeyOaty · 11/04/2016 23:29

It's a nay (neigh? bray? ) from moi

With added "please no"s and bended knee in supplication

ThinkBeforePosting · 12/04/2016 01:25

EmmanuelleMumsnet.

"mixed reviews"......

...... Shock Hmm WHAT!!!!

Are you on glue?

Sad

actually I was joking, can you not ban me

Itinerary · 12/04/2016 02:17

No

WellErrr · 12/04/2016 06:54

It seems like we have very mixed views on this idea

Which thread are you reading?

On this and every other on the same topic that I've ever seen, it's been a resounding NAY.

But if this is really necessary, my vote will add to the 'nays.'

NAY.

SurferJet · 12/04/2016 07:01

Yes please.
Also a hide poster option & a 2 minute edit facility. Netmums have all this and seem to survive ok.

( you can have the above without turning into Huns covered in pink glitter - contrary to popular belief Wink )

SoupDragon · 12/04/2016 07:04

Go to Netmums then. Wink

I wouldn't mind a timed edit button.

I am not sure of the making it more like Netmums stuff though. Why does MN have to be like any other site? The things that make it good is that it isn't.

FruStefanOla · 12/04/2016 07:36

NAY

Eminybob · 12/04/2016 07:46

While we're at it, shall on AIBU, shall we just have 2 voting buttons, YABU and YANBU? Could prevent a lot of bun fights?

I'm joking of course. I like the fact that you actually have to enter a discussion and articulate your viewpoint on here.

Nay.

MardyBra · 12/04/2016 08:00

I wasn't going to post as I thought it was a resounding no, until I saw Emmanuelle's post. Have MNHQ RTFT and all the overwhelmingly eloquent arguments against a like button.

It's a resounding NO from me.

MardyBra · 12/04/2016 08:03

And why yay or nay? Can't be doing with twee medieval-ese This early.

In true MN style I'd like to put my answer is haiku form:

NO NO NO NO NO
NO NO NO NO NO NO NO
NO NO NO NO NO.

MardyBra · 12/04/2016 08:08

And why should it be a "simple yay or nay". Isn't it better to debate a subject, thrash out the arguments and then come to a conclusion?
