You're extra fast in responding to the obviously offensive or troll hunting on threads

But every time Iv reported a post which in itself is fine, but if you looked at context and discrepancies - rings alarm bells and the poster seems to have an agenda that makes it very suspicious. I'm ignored

There's also a poster who's requested her thread title be changed an hour or more ago as she realised its offensive and it's been left and my request and presumably plenty of others requests as lots are upset by it - have gone unresponded too

Can your screening process be updated?

gamerchick · 20/03/2016 21:53

Yes please change the title just to stop the bloody whining.

DawnMumsnet · 21/03/2016 00:03

Hi pigeonpoo,

We're really sorry about the delay here. We have actually been having problems with our reports system tonight and have had to get our Tech team on the case as many reports simply haven't arrived in our in-box. We're working through the backlog now.

We have now edited the title of the thread in question and apologised to the OP for any distress caused by the delay.

In general, we tend to respond more quickly if we receive multiple reports about a specific post or thread - outright trolls are usually easy to spot and easy to zap. But we reply to every single report we receive as quickly as we can.

ExtraHotLatteToGo · 21/03/2016 00:08

Zombie has just highlighted what looks like a pbp.

Also, the Sex Topic is appearing in Active again tonight. It's upsetting some sensitive wee bunnies, you might want to sort it out again 😁

DawnMumsnet · 21/03/2016 00:20

Thanks ExtraHot - we assume you're referring to our old Facebook/church group friend? Cheers, we've zapped and banned that one now.

Have popped in to the Sex topic too and excluded any of them with particularly racy thread titles from the Trending block. Will be having a word with the Tech team in the morning to see if they can ensure none of the Sex ones show up in Trending.

Thanks Flowers

A certain poster keeps spamming with multiple threads on the same subject and goading posters, latest thread in chat.

bumbleymummy · 21/03/2016 18:01

Hi Dawn,

Is there a record kept of all reports against a poster's name? Just wondering how it works if you get a number of reports over a period of time about inconsistencies in a poster's comments (as pigeon mentioned). Can everyone at MNHQ see the history of reports and make a judgement call based on all the info or do certain 'cases' get allocated to different people at MNHQ?

DarrenHardysDrongo · 21/03/2016 18:14

Is there still a backlog of reports? I reported one yesterday evening and another earlier today, haven't heard back on either.

DawnMumsnet · 21/03/2016 20:01

Hi DarrenHardysDrongo,

We've just had a look and can see we responded to 3 reports from you on the 20th and 2 on the 19th. Were there other more recent posts that you've reported? If so, then it looks like we have more of a black hole than a backlog. Sad

Our Tech team are looking into things for us - we'll see what they can find.

And Bumbley, we can't really go into details here about how things work at HQ, but we'll be getting in touch off the boards.

meditrina · 21/03/2016 20:04

"A certain poster keeps spamming with multiple threads on the same subject and goading posters, latest thread in chat."

If that's the poster I think it is, then perhaps her threads (and indeed all threads) on that subject could be moved into th relevant topic? MNHQ decided they would do that with all Ebola threads, so perhaps it should be considered for this?

And for the EU referendum.

pigeonpoo · 21/03/2016 20:31

Can you get back to me too please MNHQ

I sent multiple reports over my concerns regarding a specific poster and didn't hear regarding those?

OP posts:
bumbleymummy · 21/03/2016 21:06

Thanks Dawn.

I reported something on Friday and I haven't heard back on that one yet either. Is it maybe still in the backlog or have you replied and I haven't received it? Sounds like you've had a bit of a nightmare this weekend!

coffeeisnectar · 21/03/2016 21:09

While you're in the black hole could you have a look and see if you can find a pink and white sock which has gone missing here? Cheers! :o

DarrenHardysDrongo · 21/03/2016 21:11

Hi Dawn.
Yes sorry, could be a black hole! The 3 you mention from the 20th were all connected to each other (a PBP with multiple threads). I have the responses to those. But there should be one more that was reported around 9pm ish on the 20th and one today the 21st.I think I reported around lunchtime.
No worries, I can report again, will wait till tomorrow evening to give you more time just in case the original reports are found.

Sparklingbrook · 21/03/2016 21:15

I am impressed with everyone being able to remember what they report from days ago. Grin

IamtheZombie · 21/03/2016 21:23

Zombie couldn't agree with you more, Sparkling. Sometimes when she doesn't get an acknowledgement, she'll remember that she reported something but won't have a clue what it was.

Sparklingbrook · 21/03/2016 21:24

Yes Zombie. I do that a lot. I report, probably hide the thread and forget everything. Blush

It would be helpful if we could have a record of reports once they are sent.

bumbleymummy · 21/03/2016 21:35

"It would be helpful if we could have a record of reports once they are sent."

That would be useful!

Sparklingbrook · 21/03/2016 21:38

Yes I very often think 'Did I report that or did I just think about it'?

Samcro · 21/03/2016 22:16

i reported a thread today(I know did) have not had a reply, and the thread is still in the wrong topic....I mean why have a topic for it and then allow someone to more or less goad and spam the other board

Samcro · 21/03/2016 22:27

i only get the ones not in the topic as I hid topic

DarrenHardysDrongo · 21/03/2016 22:42

I can only remember the ones I've talked about on this thread because they were part of an ongoing saga with a PBP who keeps returning.
I'd have no chance remembering random posts that I've reported.

Hi Dawn,

Did you email me? I haven't received one and I haven't heard anything about the report last Friday so I'm not sure if I'm getting emails from MNHQ Confused

Sparklingbrook · 23/03/2016 16:57

Reports were broken yesterday. Wonder if they are working now?
