Can we have a topic where name changing is not allowed?

Lots of people feel the 'atmosphere' has been somewhat lost, due to MN becoming so big and so many people name changing for dubious reasons.

So how about a new topic where name changing is not allowed?

So to post in that section, you choose a different name (much like in Mumsnet local). But you have to stick to that name only.

That way, in that section at least, there would be less arses/goady fuckers/Billy bullshitters and drama llamas, hiding behind name changes.

People will become 'regulars' again (in that section at least) and when you go there to chat, you'll at least 'recognise' other people.

OK I'm sure there are 1 million reasons why this is a stupid idea/impossible to set up, but can anyone think of them? Grin

I think I'd rather keep my name as otherwise I'd have to keep switching to post on other threads I'm on.

You can grow ordinary cress in an egg - nicer than a flannel!

Is watercress an actual vegetable?

I thought it was just...like grassy stuff.

Anyway, it makes great egg hair so it's cool in that sense.

Watercress is that really leafy peppery stuff innit? That egg hair is mustard cress.

magimedi · 29/12/2015 16:15

Watercress grows in moving water & hcome sin much bigger bunches.

Mustard & cress is the stuff in little tubs, that is still growing & is 2 different sorts of seeds that have sprouted - mustard being one & cress the other.

Very nice in in egg mayo sarnie but not as good as watercress is generally.

WorraLiberty · 29/12/2015 16:15

Thanks magimedi

See, even if we never get the new topic I will be eternally grateful that I started this thread.

I've now learned that watercress is a perennial european herb, nasturtium officinale , that grows in freshwater streams.

I will always have that at least.

It could be great for MN as a whole, it would be a start to the recalibration of the site.

Think on't MN...

magimedi · 29/12/2015 16:17

Flowers (& cress) Worra.

This is the sort of thread I joined MN for - starts quite seriously (& may revert to that) but gets amazingly side lined, with humor and/or just plain silliness.

WorraLiberty · 29/12/2015 16:18

I know

How about a Watercress topic where we can all change names as often as we want to.

And then take ourselves outside and beat the shit out of ourselves, just for shitz n giggles?

How do I invert FairNotFair?

Sparklingbrook · 29/12/2015 16:19

When DS1 was a baby he used to love an egg and cress sandwich from Boots. He would always hand it back to me and ask me to take the 'hair' out though. Grin

WorraLiberty · 29/12/2015 16:21

Oooh there was a hoo-haa in Morrisons yesterday about an egg and cress sandwich at the checkout.

It caused quite a ruckus Grin

Cant be bothered to type it out though.

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 29/12/2015 16:22

rFairnotFai, obvs.

magimedi · 29/12/2015 16:23

Sparkling - think of your babe, you deprived him of al lthat Vit c! Grin

WorraLiberty · 29/12/2015 16:24

Nor me Exit

I don't think anyone should have to, but they'll have to stick to whatever they choose without name changing.

Do we have to stick to watercress or cress? Can i throw rocket in to the ring?

Fairenuff · 29/12/2015 16:26

I want to know about the hoohaa in Morrisons now.

ExitPursuedByABear · 29/12/2015 16:26

Now I love rocket.

A lot.

Mmmm. Might have to go and buy some now.

WorraLiberty · 29/12/2015 16:27

You're not throwing a rocket into my ring

It's sore enough after the vindaloo I ordered by mistake yesterday.
