Can we have a topic where name changing is not allowed?

Lots of people feel the 'atmosphere' has been somewhat lost, due to MN becoming so big and so many people name changing for dubious reasons.

So how about a new topic where name changing is not allowed?

So to post in that section, you choose a different name (much like in Mumsnet local). But you have to stick to that name only.

That way, in that section at least, there would be less arses/goady fuckers/Billy bullshitters and drama llamas, hiding behind name changes.

People will become 'regulars' again (in that section at least) and when you go there to chat, you'll at least 'recognise' other people.

OK I'm sure there are 1 million reasons why this is a stupid idea/impossible to set up, but can anyone think of them? Grin

Well yes, Zed, which is why I said that my circle (friends and family) user emojis in messages but not status updates etc.

I maintain there's a time and place for a poo emoji ...

Oh no. The Christmas ones are even worse.

SwedeDreams · 30/12/2015 19:12

Yy

One of my friends uses emojis in her calendar/diary on her phone. So if she has a manicure booked, she doesn't type "maincure" she puts in the little manicure emoji. And so on. I thought that was kind of neat Blush

Sparklingbrook · 30/12/2015 19:38

I don't think they do emojis for some of the bonkers crapola I have to do on a weekly basis. Grin

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 30/12/2015 19:43

Have 🍸Sparkers

Sparklingbrook · 30/12/2015 19:46

I will put that in all 31 days of January Still. Grin

Christinayangstwistedsista · 30/12/2015 20:12

Ohhhh, good work Rusty

MrsHathaway · 30/12/2015 20:27

Hmm. Emoji for "stand in wet field watching 7 yo play non competitive football match" ... ⛄

Sparklingbrook · 30/12/2015 20:32

Rusty I can see a spanner and a knife. Then after that a little tiny squiggle, a teeny black square then an emoji looking worried with tears. Why is that? Confused I can see 3/5.

OddSocksHighHeels · 30/12/2015 20:33

Wtf is non competitive football? It has goals, somebody wins (or a draw).

RustyBear · 30/12/2015 20:34

Sparklingbrook · 30/12/2015 20:34

IIRC it's Under 8s football. No scores are recorded, no league tables. After that it seems like it is taken as seriously as the Premiership. Hmm

WotNoLoobrush · 30/12/2015 20:34

These emojies certainly have potential for confusion don't they? This thread has become very amusing Grin

RustyBear · 30/12/2015 20:35

The other two are a death's head and coffin, Sparkling...

Sparklingbrook · 30/12/2015 20:36

Rusty that's-

Pair of eyes
Rugby ball?
Cup
Red Cross
Tiny white square
Red Cross
Water droplets
Tiny white square
Umbrella with rain?

Confused
Sparklingbrook · 30/12/2015 20:36

Why can't I see the death's head or coffin but I can see the rest?

WotNoLoobrush · 30/12/2015 20:37

or perhaps that should be 😂

RustyBear · 30/12/2015 20:38

Sorry, just realised it's football not rugby...

Thornrose · 30/12/2015 20:40

Do these work? 🍫🐙🎄

RustyBear · 30/12/2015 20:41

No idea why some are showing and others not

Second one is
eyes (watch)
Ball
Trophy X
Medal X (ie no winning)
Rain loud
Water drops
Umbrella
