Not seeing pound signs

I've noticed a few posts where the pound sign is coming out as two question marks. I don't know about my own posts yet (I will test in this post!) but I don't know if it's MN or me.

Ok that ^ was supposed to be a pound sign but on my preview it's coming out as two question marks. Is it just me?

The signs for Euro, multiply, divide, equals, and Korean Won, are also affected. Also some random other hearts, stars etc.

Is it minions? Do we need bananas?

Ha, well at first I wondered if it was coming from people on the new app, but now it seems only people on the new app can use these symbols!

I noticed on another thread that speech marks were coming out as question marks as well, so will test that for you too.

£ = pound sign
" = speech mark

On Windows 7, chrome and laptop (oh and MN classic )

Oh how tedious. They work for me.

?? - half (alt 0189)
?? - degree symbol (alt 0176)
?? - heart (alt 3)
?? - smiley (alt 1)
?? - male (alt 11)
?? - female (alt 12)
?? - sun (alt 15)

£ - pound using keyboard
?? - euro using keyboard

Firefox on Windows.
