Not seeing pound signs

I've noticed a few posts where the pound sign is coming out as two question marks. I don't know about my own posts yet (I will test in this post!) but I don't know if it's MN or me.

Ok that ^ was supposed to be a pound sign but on my preview it's coming out as two question marks. Is it just me?

(Chrome on windows laptop)

Me too, Win7.x on desktop. Even keying in ALT 0163 doesn't give me the pound symbol.

Have you switched from Unicode, or what?
