Fleurdelise, thank you for responding Flowers. I have noticed neither, I am going to go out and come back in again and check. I most definitely had the http thing and padlock before, just not today.

no right clicked on page - inspect element and it throwing up 10errors and 1warning.

MrsC - the visit history works off your cookies, so it is basically saying that the cookie the brower is using to remember you and your previous visits here was set on July 26th - this could be because you deleted your old cookies then, or this was the first time you visited the site after you had last deleted your cookies.

I've got more than one email address, so I've now set up 2-step verification for all of them.

MrsMcGregor · 20/08/2015 19:08

I had a 'you have requested a password reset' email from Mumsnet at 1620 this pm ... I didn't try to change my password today. Does this mean someone is trying to access my account?

Changed pw around 11pm last night when it was forced.

OneLittleLady · 20/08/2015 19:09

has anyone else today received an email from a popular train company asking you to change your password to something more secure? i am concerned that even though i wasnt on 'the list' my email may have been compromised for various reasons and i'm very unsure about trusting any links or anything coming to my email right now

unlucky83 · 20/08/2015 19:11

Fleur maybe twitter are giving Jeffrey enough rope?

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 20/08/2015 19:11

Is the email definitely legit? Have a look at their website and see if they say anything?

StrattersDairyProductPervert · 20/08/2015 19:11

Pointless trying to swat me, it would take the swat team hours to get here. It would be a total non event.

PurpleDaisies · 20/08/2015 19:12

Did it go through straight away mrsmcgregor? Mine took a few goes to change and one of the email links was so slow to arrive that I'd already successfully changed my password. I hope that makes sense!

OneLittleLady · 20/08/2015 19:14

the email looks legit although it does say 'passwords are like underwear, should be changed often and never shared' which i wouldn't expect and i've looked on the official website and there's nothing i can see about it on there

onelittlelady Change your password via the site rather than via email link? (And check URL when you do)

OneLittleLady · 20/08/2015 19:21

i will request a reset as soon as I am able to. i'm on the hop right now with finishing off something really important. ugggh, this is just the biggest most boring time consuming ballache

00100001 · 20/08/2015 19:26

doggers I doubt it very much! :)

TiredButFineODFOJ · 20/08/2015 19:29

Can't wait until Jeffrey is found and unmasked the twunt. Did Mumsnet Wendy him and this is his revenge?

MiscellaneousAssortment · 20/08/2015 19:31

I logged off and ordered a password reset from my iphone last night and never received a mail. I did it just now from my laptop and the email came through instantly.

Could this mean theres something up with my iphone browser/ dodginess of some kind? I use my phone alot to browse the boards but am not keen on putting my brand new and shiny password into it if its likely it has been compromised... anyone got any advice/ info on this?

thanks and Gin

MrsMcGregor · 20/08/2015 19:31

purple, when I changed it last night I got the request email with the link immediately, followed by the change confirmation email. The email this afternoon says I have requested a password change which I haven't so am a bit concerned someone has tried with old password and requested a reset.

StrattersDairyProductPervert · 20/08/2015 19:34

I wonder if he realises the irony of picking a scary character who is actually deeply tragic and horribly lonely. Doubt it.

StrattersDairyProductPervert · 20/08/2015 19:35

We will make Jeffrey's downfall viral. Won't we?

PurpleDaisies · 20/08/2015 19:36

That is a bit odd. When I emailed mnhq they said the emails were sometimes taking a while to come through because of the volume of emails so maybe it is related to an earlier password change? I'd report your post or email them to find out.

MrsMcGregor · 20/08/2015 19:38

Thanks purple ... good idea to report post. I've definitely got all the emails relating to each password change.

WalfordEast · 20/08/2015 19:40

Has anyone had a PM from a JackSkellington?? Just had an email to say I have one and I don't know whether to open it..

StephanieBeacham · 20/08/2015 19:41

Strangely I don't find the clown scary in the slightest. When I see it I think FFS ugly bastard, but it doesn't scare me, because he comes across as so thick in whatever he says.

I suppose I see him in the same way I'd see a harmless but cheeky 18 year old lad, giggling with his mates and pulling a fast one. It's just not frightening. OTOH it isn't someone I'd want to father a child of mine either.

theredlion · 20/08/2015 19:41

Does MN usually send out emails alerting us when someone has posted on a thread you're active on?

Also with a clickable link?

I've just received one of these emails and I didn't get them with my old account, it may just be that my preferences are set differently with this new account.
