Following on from discussion on another thread - could we have a Scottish section, please?

The local information is good, but it is too local to apply to the whole of Scotland, if you see what I mean.

Love clarty hoor Grin

I quite fancy the idea of being a bidey-in hoor - much more thrilling than being a wife

KatieScarlettreregged · 30/03/2015 20:59

Clarty hoor Grin

MmeLindor · 30/03/2015 21:30

Haven't heard 'clarty' for a long time!

I was in a shop recently, and the guy had to phone call centre in England to ask if they had a part. 'Hav' yis goad [part]', he asked. English person naturally didn't understand.

'HAV' YIS GOAD [part]', he shouted. I had to turn away to stop him seeing me laughing!

Momagain
your poor wee Grannie! She'll really feel the cold, coming from Florida!

KatieScarlettreregged · 30/03/2015 21:45

I have a wee granny. She's 97.
However she is easily the scariest woman I have ever met. She could reduce you to tears with "how mawkit are yer weans?" with accompanying side-eye and humphy pus. She once beat up a bloke with nothing but a walking stick.

Momagain1 · 30/03/2015 23:03

Yes, she will feel it keenly. I've toughened up since my first winter though, so the very highest tog duvet is available for her use. Think I'd best get another hot water bottle.

SirChenjin · 31/03/2015 08:01

I slept in my thermals with my electric blanket on last night

Mrsjayy · 31/03/2015 08:07

Oh gawd Katie your granny sounds terrifying

Mrsjayy · 31/03/2015 08:09

I was warm in bed last night think my lady flushes are the same as thermals

Christinayangstwistedsister · 31/03/2015 09:52

Never cast a clout until May is oot

SirChenjin · 31/03/2015 09:55

It's true Chris - we have a few nice days in March and I go all continental. I should have learnt my lesson by now.

KatieScarlettreregged · 31/03/2015 12:28

Went out for lunch at work, it's snowing. The sun was splitting the skies this morning and I look a complete erse in my lightweight clothes.

OOAOML · 31/03/2015 12:32

I am looking out of the window at the snow and shivering in my cardigan.

GrouchyKiwi · 31/03/2015 12:32

Where are you, Katie? DD swears it's snowing in Edinburgh but she's 3.

GrouchyKiwi · 31/03/2015 12:33

Nevermind. I see snow now. What the hell, weather?

OOAOML · 31/03/2015 12:41

Yup, flurry of snow in Edinburgh. Grey skies. Welcome to spring.

iHAVEtogetoutofhere · 31/03/2015 13:19

Blowin a hoolie here.
Just ventured out and got slapped in face with hailstones. Biggish too.
Ruddy stung.
Looking at selection of 'Spring' items and Easter choc gathered from shops yesterday by 'Easter bunny' (about to be hidden in kitchen cupboard).
Might just eat the lot (to keep me warm, of course).
Lovely... Grin

Momagain1 · 31/03/2015 13:28

Somebody keeps eating the creme eggs I buy. Somebody.

friendofsadgirl · 31/03/2015 17:44

Momagain, you need to hide them at the back of the press.

StayingSamVimesGirl · 31/03/2015 18:18

We had huge gusts of wind, rain, hail, sleet, snow and sunshine today. Welcome to Spring! Hmm

I'm in Fife Grouchy, one part for work another for home IYSWIM?

frankie80 · 31/03/2015 18:56

My sister is in USA. She's had to explain 'hurricane bawbag' and what a fanny really is Grin

frankie80 · 01/04/2015 20:05

Just had another wee look at my local boards, jeezo, its awful how quiet they are. No chance of any mumsnet meetups through them.

SirChenjin · 01/04/2015 20:12

I like the idea of meeting up with local MNetters...but I'd be mortified if I knew anyone in 'RL'. I'd also worry that I came across someone who I'd offended on one of the Boards at some point Blush. I prefer anonymity tbh.

Mrsjayy · 01/04/2015 20:19

Och nae body would hold a grudge i did a net mum's meet once wasn't great tbh woman i had on my Facebook for a while then she deleted me

PacificDogwood · 01/04/2015 20:45

I've been to a couple of meet-ups and they were great fun Grin

However, I only know a very select few MNers well enough to actually remember what their RL AND NNs are Blush.
I am not too bothered about my anonymity as I try not to post anything that I would not say out loud Grin but I never say 'cunt' in RL
