Following on from discussion on another thread - could we have a Scottish section, please?

The local information is good, but it is too local to apply to the whole of Scotland, if you see what I mean.

Oh, well, I spose Scots Corner is quite good.

OOAOML · 28/03/2015 08:35

If they go for hunsnet will it not be seen as a football thing? Wink

SirChenjin · 28/03/2015 09:42

Nedsnet? Grin

weebarra · 28/03/2015 09:45

Not hunsnet - people will think we're all Rangers fans.

PacificDogwood · 28/03/2015 09:47

Or German! ShockGrinShockWink

Blethersnet made me Grin

BarrowlandBiddy · 28/03/2015 11:21

I must admit, I do love the word blether. Maybe that could be a section too, instead of Chat?

Love the wee tartan smileys.
Angry is my favourite I think. It's me wi sunburn!

Momagain1 · 28/03/2015 22:11

I am fine for MNScotland or Whatever suits MNHQ. I bet a lot of former lurkers turn out, finally feeling like it is reasonable to ask a law, education, medical care related question because you will get useful answers.

I am really excited to maybe get some help understanding SN, ASD, etc etc. We have a parent support group at school, but nearly every parent in it is an immigrant so we are the blind leading the blind.

Pacific I had always figured you were American. I lived in California for some years, and never knew there was a pacific Dogwood until I saw your name, or I would have planted one. The East coast dogwood is my favorite tree.

Momagain, my name is Ansel Adams/Yosemite Park inspired - happy, happy memories Smile

Iona, I salute your flag Grin

IonaMumsnet · 28/03/2015 22:50

WHO'S WITH ME????

PacificDogwood · 28/03/2015 22:51

PS And I've got one in my garden - in Scotland

OOAOML · 28/03/2015 23:03

Do you post about ASD Momagain1? Fair enough schools etc are different in Scotland (and regionally within it) but surely you could get help with ASD on the Mumsnet boards as they are? A parent support group in school sounds good I have to say, we don't have that and it might be helpful. We're lucky with my son's current teachers, but in the past it has been a bit hit and miss.

friendofsadgirl · 28/03/2015 23:15

Iona, bring on the revolution Wink

Momagain1 · 29/03/2015 00:00

OOAOML No, I dont ask about it. I have mentioned ds, but I have not sought assistance here. Last year, before i was on MN, i was warned to be very aware that much of what I might find on the internet referencing 'here in the UK' should really say 'here in England' . To double check what I was reading was intended for a Scottish audience.

Later, when I came on MN for other reasons, it didnt occur to me to look for a board on the topic because, well, it's mostly English here, so I wouldnt expect it to be any use.

Momagain1 · 29/03/2015 00:03

Pacidic there is supposed to be an east coast one in the Botanic in Glasgow. I need to go hunt it down while it might be in flower. If i ever want a tree my garden, i would plant one of those. But currently, I want whatever sun through the windows I can get.

KatieScarlettreregged · 29/03/2015 10:35

I salute you IonaMumsnet. Lucky thing, your place has a pretty name, Prestonpansnet, Gowkhallnet,
Skinflatsnet, notsomuch
Grin (I was going to add a disclaimer in case of offense to any MNetters residing in the above, but then I remembered that this is Scotsnet/Scotlandnet/ScotsCorner so am pretty safe from the PO).

OOAOML · 29/03/2015 10:44

There are SN boards which might be interesting for you - fair enough education etc may be different but I think there's a lot about parenting an ASD child that is fairly universal.

SirChenjin · 29/03/2015 11:20

Katie - I think you'll find its 'RaPansNet Grin

tabulahrasa · 29/03/2015 11:47

Momagain1... The SN boards are a bit hard to navigate about specifically Scottish educational things, but they're great for everything else.

KatieScarlettreregged · 29/03/2015 12:17

RaPansnet
Grin

Eigg · 29/03/2015 12:35
