I hate them. Over and over again they appear when I'm about to click on something else and I click just fractionally too late and find myself on the breastfeeding topic or something else which is of no interest to me at all any more, thank god. Can't you get rid of them? Apart from anything else I am sick to death of the images, which I have seen millions of times each now.

Rant over! Smile

Drives me mad as well. I've hated them ever since they were introduced.

Fiderer · 31/01/2015 10:45

I hate them too. They're redundant anyway as we can all click links and they're infuriating if you scroll too far by accident and get one. Then another.

The images are dreadful too, especially the pregnant woman and that bloody spaghetti dog.

DawnMumsnet · 31/01/2015 14:57

Look, there's no need to sit on the fence - tell us what you really think! Grin

Seriously, though - is it the drop-down menus in general, or the images that are driving you up the wall?

Allalonenow · 31/01/2015 14:59

The dog covered in pasta is the worst one.

EddieVeddersfoxymop · 31/01/2015 15:02

Oh thank god, kindred spirits. I hate those things with a bloody passion. Especially the pregnant woman with her "kooky" expression. I'm sick of accidentally rolling over the trigger and being faced with her.

LoofahVanDross · 31/01/2015 15:03

Yeah that fucking plaited pregnant woman gets shouted at most days by me hovering in my face when i am trying to read.

Fiderer · 31/01/2015 15:20

Dawn both the drop-downs and the images. I see no need for the drop-downs anyway, why not just have a clickable thingy.

The images really are dreadful. After pregnant plaity woman and spaghetti dog come stupid rollers shaving woman and the glasses girl in terms of awfulness.

HTH Grin

Can we have some new ones at least. Plait water pregnant woman is really annoying and so is spaghetti dog. They seem to be the 2 I click on without meaning to the most.

Sparklingbrook · 31/01/2015 16:07

This to replace plait water woman.

GoldfishSpy · 31/01/2015 16:09

Yes they are AWFUL.
I hate the plait woman too. And don't get me started on glasses boy.....

LeBearPolar · 31/01/2015 16:26

Can't bear the pregnant woman one. Just have your bloody baby!

Sparklingbrook · 31/01/2015 16:27

The baby is probably at Secondary by now. Grin

Mintyyssockie · 31/01/2015 16:36

Dawn
There have been STORMS of protest over these images of the years. I have given up posting about them. HQ never EVER take anything on board.

Sparklingbrook · 31/01/2015 16:42

Here's 'food' sorted.

What purpose do they serve? We're all literate here (I assume). We don't need pictures to help us work out which section is which.

I think the one I hate most is the woman with the curlers shaving herself. It didn't amuse me even the first time I saw it.

OP posts:
BIWI · 31/01/2015 16:51

It's not so much the pictures, more the fact that if you're not very precise about where your cursor is, they drop down. Immensely irritating - and I remember everyone saying so when they were first added to the site.

southeastastra · 31/01/2015 16:52

no the pictures are annoying! fish faced woman and that baby that looks like a politician, get rid!

Sparklingbrook · 31/01/2015 16:53

YY BIWI, it's being faced with them when you didn't even click that's so annoying.

thenightsky · 31/01/2015 16:53

I thought it was just me being crap at steering my mouse Grin

I get pregnant water woman every single bloody time and end up clicking on her by accident about 90% of the time.

Sparklingbrook · 31/01/2015 16:58

I often seem to click on the baby that looks like Jim Kerr without wanting to, and then I end up in Breast/Bottle Feeding. I haven't fed a baby since 2002. Grin

SwedishEdith · 31/01/2015 17:03

God, I was only thinking yesterday how much they still irritate me. Angry But, we told (MNHQ) when they introduced them that they were annoying but they did nothing about them. The pregnant woman is the worst - that child must be about three years old now.

LottieMumofWilfJenkins · 31/01/2015 17:05

It's the drop down menu for me! I have been meaning to grumble about it for ages and now someone has done it for me!!! Please sort it out!!

Fiderer · 31/01/2015 17:12

So it's:
1 serve no purpose
2 too easy to scroll over by accident - irritating
3 images bloody awful - adds to irritation

Bin the lot.

CheshireCait · 31/01/2015 17:14

The pictures are intensely annoying, but even without them, the dropdown thing is terrible. PLEASE ditch it.
