Morning all,

And welcome to the new thread!

As SarahMumsnet said at the end of the last thread, we have Tech on call for fixes this weekend, and various MNHQers will be here to talk and help wherever we can.

We'll be adding to the rolling list of bugs, glitches and dislikes (see below), so please keep the feedback coming. Do remember to list which device you're using, which operating system, and which browser, so we can identify the specific issues.

This thread took 20mins to load.

Cursor in tjis box hopping about all over the place.

This is my 3rd attempt to pist on this thread.

All the circle short cuts and the ellipses are Chinese/Japanese characters (i'm a bit hazy.on the difference, tbh!)
When i tap them, nothing happens.

I coukdn't go directly tp the end of the thread to post as the chevron won't click.open.

I still have only 4 posts on active convos that i can see at any one time - not posts, i mean threads.

I don't like the colours of op/my posts, they are really easy to.miss when i'm scrolling - and scrolling and scrolling and scrolling.

I have turned off the blue buttons at the bottom of the screen because they restricted view of posts and they 'bled' when i scrolled, but now i have to click chevron/click active, etc, wjen.i want to navigate anywhere and it is incredibly slow.

I cant edit post/spng etc as my cursor has popped some pills and is raving across the message box!

Anyone else ecperiencing the chinese/japanese thing?

Hello, sorry you're having troubles with your LG5, we'll take a look into it generally next week. We're working on speeding up load though long threads such as this one are always going to be slower I'm afraid. When a thread takes a while to load the buttons may not respond instantly either so that's worth bearing in mind when you're trying to open a menu. Again hopefully we'll be able to optimise so speed doesn't interfere with your mumsnetting.

As far as colours go, next week we're going to be thinking about various design feedback and increasing the contrast of highlighting is one aspect we'll be discussing so thank you for letting us know your thoughts.

Wonderful! Tech have been working very hard on Nokia Lumia today, good to see their efforts have paid off!

The format seems to have gone back to how it was this morning. No little pics on the shortcut bar, the font has changed back.
The buttons and ellipses have reappeared.
Tbh I prefer how it looks at the moment. The little pics are ok but a bit meaningless (a broken heart for active, a wineglass for bookmarks??!!) the icons now make sense & are working well.

No still getting the windows phone can't download this file message. I am getting a box on each post that opens and the top/bottom buttons seem to work. Still can't see any icons by the social media links it is just a dot. The task bar looks better but is still over some writing at the top of the thread.

It took six attempts to upload screenshots before I got a meaningful error message (".PNG not supported") so you will have to wait for me to upload to laptop, convert to jpg (?) and post from there.

On HTC. Some progress, for which many thanks. The ellipses have pictures, yay. Different colours, sometimes, ( not consistent) when posted.

But,

After I have posted, screen freezes. I have to go back to unfreeze it, and on several occasions it took me to the MN academy. Which is interesting but...

And still if I go into a thread, I go into the first post. Not the most recent. But you have at least now got a functioning last post working. ( sounds trumpet, in memory if previous site.)

I don't use MN on my phone anymore. I only just it in the evenings using the desktop site. I bet you've lost a LOT is users. I still can't believe you've done it.

can we have a new, separate thread for the annoying adverts please?
every advert i've had for 2 days now has been a sscrolling text advert, like this one.
and it's driving me to distraction!

however, I do like the fact that the random l/I is now italicized so it looks like an icon rrather than a random line.

Hello, apologies but I'm a wee bit confused by your post... wineglasses for bookmarks sounds most strange! Attached is a screenshot of an iPhone 5 to show what we expect you to see if you go to active.

Oh dear sorry livelablove we had you especially in mind today when we were making fixes. We can't replicate your double posting on our test Nokia Lumia so might need to investigate your specific issue separately.

We've been making lot of fixes to specific issues over the last week perhaps you could give it another try? We appreciate it's been a difficult change for you and we're very keen to continue iterating and changing with your feedback until we get the best balance for everyone.

If you do run into a specific bug or bit of design feedback we're always happy to hear it and it's especially useful if you can let us know what phone you're using and what browser.

It's hard for us to control the movement of external ads but none should create a flicker effect (flickering more than 3 times a second).

However we have been testing this position of ads and intend to test a new placement early next week.

Jessica. That's what it looks like now. Very nice.
But earlier on I had little pictures on the blue bar, a broken heart on 'active', a city scene on 'I'm on', lips on 'search'.
When I went to the drop down menu from the ellipses (which were a box!), the 'bookmark' had a little wineglass next to it and bookmarked threads had a wineglass where the little banner would be.
None of the icons matched the buttons they were on. The 'attach' button had a loudspeaker on it!
The attached screenshot shows the little wineglass (cocktail glass?) on a bookmarked post and the odd icons on the blue bar.

Hi, thanks for responding to my post.
Desktop feels better due to both function and design. I find it weird and jarring to click on talk from the homepage and all the font and layout suddenly changes and looks sort of unfinished. I like that the desktop talk retains all the same fonts and colours. But I could easily live with a different 'look' if it worked properly - it's just so slow and judderey and hardly any text on the page. I just hate it. I stuck with the app for ages until I gave up for the mobile site but it's awful now.

I can't make it do it again, but I promise you it wasn't a finger slip, I did it 6 or 7 times in a row before I posted!!!

Haven't customized anything. Nada. Pure vanilla. And just checked again.

jessica the other day we were asked to post specific adverts that moved so that you could work on a fix or a rule or something, to the advertisers.

Wow, font size on Nokia Lumia is legible now, much better

Am busy just now but will see how I get on with it later.

I miss the little bar at the side of the screen that showed how far down the thread you were. And not being able to hide a thread based on title. There are some I really don't want to see, nor do I want to click on to hide.
