Some of us would like to know if a certain politico will be banned, proper.

No rush.

We know you have a lot on your plate with ... stuff.

(I probably got two quotes mixed up in subject line. Don't panic! It's me not you. Am philistine. Italy is wasted on me. Not keen on art, prefer shopping.)

LakeDistrict could you PM me your twitter handle please? I haven't gone about following people very scientifically and I don't want to miss anyone.

MadameDefarge · 01/01/2014 14:47

done.

LostInWales · 01/01/2014 15:09

Times columnist David Aaronovitch retweeted my tweet with the law blog!

Spero · 01/01/2014 15:17

Have been travelling back from Wales and ironically arguing with my hosts over this campaign - they think it won't achieve anything, I say I am worried the general public is being encouraged to lose faith in the system and we have to challenge the nonsense of hemming et al - so have missed all this!

On one hand I am thrilled - national reporting is no mean feat.

On the other I am a little discouraged as I agree with road - he is being treated again as this buffoonish character, it's all a bit Ho Ho oh he's been a naughty boy.

I want people to engage with the dangerous substance of his conspiracy theory, and the harm at does. But I can see that is less sexy.

So I want to press on and encourage him to debate this. We could maybe sell tickets for £5 and give the money to kids Company? So if nothing else happens at least they get some money.

I am beyond grateful to everyone who has helped make this happen, it show the power of collective action and using social media.

I just want him called to account properly. But de selection would be a part.

If anyone is interested in getting involved in the debate in any capacity, please let me know. I am thinking after Easter?

LostInWales · 01/01/2014 15:18

He has 57.2K followers apparentlyGrin

AGnu · 01/01/2014 15:19

Where

AGnu · 01/01/2014 15:19

Where

MadameDefarge · 01/01/2014 15:21

Dont be discouraged. I get your point. but better something than nothing. Much like MN, PR is about getting the message out, and hoping you have formulated it in a way that appeals (which is not always the core news). but it builds and builds.

working together is the way forward. Acorns and trees and all that!

MadameDefarge · 01/01/2014 15:22

Its a question of never taking your foot off the pedal, monitoring, reporting, protesting. over and over again.

MadameDefarge · 01/01/2014 15:25

someone needs to tweet David Aaronovitch (sic) the guardian comment.

sorry! I am not on twitter!

AGnu · 01/01/2014 15:25

Eep... No idea what happened there, sorry! My phone seemed to have some sort of funny turn, the keyboard disappeared & it's refusing to come back! On laptop now & the "Where's Spero?" I was trying to ask is redundant anyway! Blush

I'll just go back to lurking & following everything on Twitter & leave the important stuff to those who know what they're doing & have functioning technology! Wink

LostInWales · 01/01/2014 15:39

I do think though that there are a lot of people like you lot, who hate seeing someone bully and blag through life. They will have been waiting for him to be given enough rope too. As long as we get the message out there then they will take it and use it. That Labour councillor who will be fighting him for his seat certainly seems engaged with the process. Does someone else want to tweet Aaronivich (sp!) with the guardian article so I don't look like a mad loner!

AGnu · 01/01/2014 15:48

Done! Smile

depankrispaneven · 01/01/2014 15:55

How extraordinary that his excuse for outing people's real identities is that he didn't know the rules and it "seemed relevant". What possible relevance could there have been, other than letting people know that he could track them down and publicise their real names?

And what's he doing on here if he can't be bothered to read the rules? Even if you don't, it's not hard to work out that, if people don't choose to post under their real names, it's incredibly rude to out them.

Mignonette · 01/01/2014 15:57

Well done all of you.

Feel a bit proud of everybody on here and the other anonymous folk Flowers

Spero · 01/01/2014 15:58

That is such a dishonest statement on his part, it makes me furious.

He 'outed' me and attempted to out others to intimidate, pure and simple.

Trouble for him is I will happily stand by everything I say in my own name on this and any other forum.

Spero · 01/01/2014 16:03

I also wonder why it's 'relevant' for him to out me on his blog.

But so far I am sadly disappointed that none of his harem or sock puppets have popped up to defend his honour.

Maybe I will find I am subject of another complaint to Bar Standards Board on my return to work. That will make interesting reading.

scalesagain · 01/01/2014 16:17

I don't think banning people for holding opinions you don't agree with is a good precedent. It appears there is a lot of history here, that I was oblivious to, but the workings of the Court of Protection should be debated as that is where we will all end up if we or our parents lose capacity without a welfare POA. The whole court ordered ceasarian is a topic I would be interested in debating with Hemming, the point that bipolar women could be scared of losing their children if they admit to problems and ask for help is something I am interested in, having personal experience.

MadameDefarge · 01/01/2014 16:18

scales, did you manage to read the five previous threads about this case? It might help you see where we are now.

CarpeVinum · 01/01/2014 16:19

Anything we can do Spero, will all the interest raised be enough or can we write letters of support.. or something ?

OP posts:
MadameDefarge · 01/01/2014 16:19

I for one feel under no obligation to precis a long and complex thread process.

CarpeVinum · 01/01/2014 16:21

Well we did, wheres the synopsis link ?
