Did you ban John Hemming (the MP) for outing me ?

CarpeVinum · 21/12/2013 23:47

Cos he isn't on The Thread.

And I'd like to know why.

I am immaginging that the party whip we've been phoning, emailing and twittering has tied him up and run off with his keyboard.

Can I hang on to that fantasy, or did you ban him ?

It's not the end of the world to me that he posted my twitter account, knowing it was me and knowing it was my real name. But I will quickly drum up some minding if required to purge MN of his presence.

If they are charging £16 for advice, they must be on their uppers!

And are obviously not paying their gimps enough to get high quality gimpage. This familyjustice person is a disappointingly low quality adversary.

CarpeVinum · 24/12/2013 23:19

I quite fancy a leather apork Pie Hat. I reckon I could rock that look.

In terms of 16 quid... is it like the poundland of legal advice then ?

OP posts:
MadameDefarge · 24/12/2013 23:21

Probably.

worth every bleedin' penny though.

Spero · 24/12/2013 23:25

It's more like the alcoholic homeless guy of legal advice who is asking you to spare some change.

CarpeVinum · 24/12/2013 23:28

So like totally CrackLawyerTeam then.

Shakin' Stevens is on. I love it. So sad.

WestmorlandSausage · 24/12/2013 23:35

if Irc melvin is also thought to be JH? JH's middle name being Melvin?

CarpeVinum · 24/12/2013 23:36

Bed!

I have to install a driver and a minecraft mod in the morning so presents work.

I am dreading it.

This time I will not manage to delete windows.

Wishing you all a lovely Christmass day.

Spero · 24/12/2013 23:37

Mmmm. They are getting bolder.

But what is the POINT of it all? This can't just be about JH's personal vendetta as so many others have taken the baton with alarming vim and vigour.

Is it just a way to screw the vulnerable out of what little money they have? Or milk the legal aid system by running up bills for pointless appeals a la Flemming?

WestmorlandPigInBlanket · 24/12/2013 23:39

I worry it is something much more sinister unfortunately Spero, and bigger than JH who is merely (in my view) a mouthpiece.

Spero · 24/12/2013 23:42

In my bleaker moments I have entertained the idea that the gov is encouraging fear and hatred for present system so it can replace it with a much cheaper tribunal system to remove children on an administrative basis.

I know I run the risk of looking like a conspiracy nutjob but I struggle to understand how JH is allowed to roam free without some kind of official sanction.

AthelstaneTheUnready · 24/12/2013 23:46

Cock up theory. Better a nutjob holding that precious extra seat for you, than no seat at all.

MadameDefarge · 24/12/2013 23:53

I think only his constituency party can deselect him. That can be almost impossible.

Plus he runs the libdem group in brum.

So the only way out of the MP thing is for him to lose his seat at the next election.

Any one fancy some electioneering in Yardley next time round?

I think I will channel Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire on the hustings for Charles Fox.

AthelstaneTheUnready · 24/12/2013 23:58

Sorry, forgetting my manners Blush.

Having read some of the other threads, I admire your tenacity. I've also not been able to get it out of my head. Regardless of what happened in his family, to be so reckless with other people's families to further (or try and prove) your own agenda is just evil.

And I genuinely got the impression from his words that his need to prove 'them' wrong comes from a burning fury at being called wrong himself - not from any desire to help others. Vindictiveness, not philanthropy.

Having worked in central government, the venality and stupidity of some MPs isn't a surprise - which is why I incline towards his being tolerated for the sake of his seat. I presume there isn't an obvious successor and the party isn't about to draw attention to his flaws if it might lose them the seat.

WestmorlandPigInBlanket · 25/12/2013 00:01

If i was doing something like this in my job I would have been sacked a long time ago.

I really hope the lib dems are taking note. MP Mike Woodcock hasn't done them any favours over the last few days either. The LibDems do seem to have a habit of attracting the weird and wonderful rather than the usual fat cats/ union members of lab/con. At least you know where you stand with that.

Don't know what to think anymore - I was until recently a lib dem supporter.

WestmorlandPigInBlanket · 25/12/2013 00:02

sorry, Mike Hancock.

Fenton · 25/12/2013 00:04

I have no idea what any of you are

MadameDefarge · 25/12/2013 00:05

er, I am a laydee?

WestmorlandPigInBlanket · 25/12/2013 00:05

well... I'm a pig, in a blanket, formerly known as sausage.

If that helps

Fenton · 25/12/2013 00:05

Ahem

....On about but i hope the Minecraft stuff works out ok

Smile
AthelstaneTheUnready · 25/12/2013 00:05

Well, it's not impossible to create the opportunities for someone to make an unpleasant twat of themselves publicly. Whether that affects voting behaviour is a different matter; we get the MPs we can be bothered to vote for, after all...
